  1. I think what you are experiencing is actually a symptom somewhere in my DSM-IV. I'll have to check.
  2. Why are you trying to get Veronica naked?
  3. They will do it when they need to, but there's no indication they need to anytime soon. They're still using 25GB discs, which is about 3 DVD9 dual layers. Media size is not a limit for the PC. We don't even need bigger discs. They use more discs. Or better compression. Or digital distribution.
  4. First thing to try is almost always exit steam then relaunch it.
  5. None of which actually explains how you properly tell a player how to get to a destination. Do you give them compass directions from the quest giver? Directions from Seyda Neen to Balmora aren't all that useful if the player has been playing over in Sadrith Mora for a month of real time.
  6. PC games are doing compression and multiple discs. And no, Blu-Ray games on the PS3 do not do 100GB. A double layer disc goes up to 50GB and there's been almost no games that used that.
  7. Caved to peer pressure (self is a peer) and bought Fallout 3 GOTY for PC. Already owned Fallout 3 for 360, but wanted to check out the DLC. GOTY price would be about the same as buying just the DLC.
  8. The compass arrow is only a lowering of sights if you're making assumptions about what the sights were to begin with. I don't suspect it was ever an intended bar to entry. Games do need a way of guiding players to their destination, can't always rely on memory, and simply giving directions isn't always workable in games that emphasize off the beaten path. A simple icon is a very elegant solution.
  9. Utter nonse. Deus Ex isn't particularly more complex than many games released nowadays. Most things people call "dumbing down" are either simply attempts to work a game around a less versatile controller or make action aspects more engaging. Unless you think inventory tetris or having to put skill points in guns is smart, Deus Ex isn't any more demanding than Bioshock. Nobody's lowering their sights anywhere near what you claim.
  10. Alien is my preferred Alien. Though I also like how Cameron presents (at least Ripley's interpretation of) their threat. "if one of those things gets down here..." The constant barrage of marines mowing down hives kind of downplays that.
  11. Define challenging. Supposedly there's a pascifist route, but I'm trying to figure out the specifics.
  12. That tunnel with a locked door isn't the abandoned BoS bunker, is it? Edit: Nope, that's Eastern side of the map. Another DLC hint is the courier that gave up the job. He's left mysterious writing near Primm seemingly obsessed with Courier Six (the player).
  13. Final battle, Lanius goes down in one shot from the Alien Blaster. Two Praetorians come behind him. I fire two shots. One misses, both die.
  14. I used it maybe 3 times, too. One of those was just a throwaway joke. Another was alongside like a perception check that would have ended the quest too.
  15. That's nice for the more casual players, definitely. Saw many posts where ppl didn't find anyone but Boone until way late in the game. I don't believe that's what the fix is for. It's for after you hire them in case you forget where you left them or get parted for some unforseen reason that isn't fixed by the fast travel fix.
  16. They're being obnoxious jerks. But I can't help but find it funny that one guy saying that calling their behavior medieval "would be an understatement." No, that would be the definition of overstatement. They're just being pricks. Unless the medieval behavior towards pagans is a lot more docile than what I've been taught.
  17. But what you're saying to us is that you gave it some thought.
  18. Sadly the companion levelling/skills didn't get fixed in this one. I wonder how long until the next increment.
  19. Wtf is Zork? All of my hatred.
  20. No thanks, I only play online games with people who've passed puberty. High five! So, how often do you play TF2?
  21. Call of Duty 1 felt like I was playing Medal of Honor Allied Assault a second time. Just without the kickass infiltration segment. But that's all irrelevant really. I see so much good stuff about these, but since so much of what I hear about is multiplayer focused and from people who think Halo has good multiplayer, I can't help but be skeptical to an extreme.
  22. Let me know what the campaign is like. I've religiously avoided all Call of Honor games since the third one, Call of Duty 2. But I hear this one has Zork!
  23. Because it was a marriage of my two greatest passions. Okay, maybe not two greatest. That would be some sort of Xenogears movie directed by Ridley Scott. But it's definitely up there!
  24. You're tearing me apart, Dagon.
  25. Yes, yes, it is. It's also free on the internet in a few places. Legally.
