  1. I think you might need to look up the definition of a cutscene.
  2. It could be as simple as including co-op options to the SP. Like other shooters, such as Halo and Gears of War.
  3. Played Runaway a bit last night. It reminds me a lot of the Broken Sword games, but with more insane moon logic. Though I guess that the "guy finds girl who is way out of his league that needs help, leads to adventure" trope is far broader than the two series. I've got peanut butter in my inventory. I need to use peanut butter to attract ants. Do I use the peanut butter? Nooooo. I go put peanuts and butter under heat and use that instead.
  4. You should totally buy that pack. Do you know how much money I've spent the past two weeks? Blast you all!
  5. Gog.com is only listing A Road Adventure. Steam has that (for the same price), The Dream of The Turtle, and A Twist of Fate.
  6. I was just looking at The Next Big Thing. Steam has 4 Pendulo games in a pack with three Runaway games for a decent price. I ended up getting Gray Matter with my $25 Amazon credit instead. And 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors. Did you play any of the Runaway games? If so, what did you think of them?
  7. Ahh, innovation. Now let's talk about things that are epic and next-gen!
  8. Stupid PSN is down. For probably another day.
  9. Just beat Co-Op with Calax. A couple of those had us stuck for a little while.
  10. How is your mod operating? Is it a seperate BSP (or whatever they're called now) or did you modify the actual base files?
  11. Because they didn't use that particular segment in Episode 1 nor in the original Half-Life. And because that section sucks. It is not part of the working formula. I'm not sure you know what I'm talking about.
  12. Yes, I expect they haven't learned that lesson. They reused that "puzzle" again in Episode 2. Somebody at Valve really likes it.
  13. I like it more than Half-Life 2 because it doesn't have any really stupid parts. I'm looking at you Sandtrap and the ooze equivalent. I was sick of picking up items to jump onto to traverse hazardous terrain by the second item of the first time I did it. Stop that ****, Valve.
  14. I'll be looking for a co-op buddy tonight. I want to play Atlas.
  15. Beat Portal 2 single player last night. 5.5 hours according to Steam. Steam doesn't seem to have caught all my achievements. No matter, I was planning a PC run of single player anyway. Who's down for co-op tonight?
  16. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun The gels are providing far more interesting puzzles than I expected. That last one took me a while. Wish the lasers had been this good.
  17. Quickest way to get into shape is to play fighting games and eat cheeseburgers.
  18. But they do make money off the hard drives.
  19. $52 for the 250 GB? Holy crap. Those things have been ridiculously overpriced forever, that's a steal.
  20. Woo, I think my Portal 2 is going to arrive today.
  21. Keep in mind the story mode is long. It took me maybe 5 hours to beat.
  22. There's a distinction between expecting good writing and expecting competent writing. It's not the camp I'm complaining about. The camp is fine. The camp is the fact that ninjas are fighting Shaolin monks for the sake of something called Earthrealm. And a time traveling lightning god is trying to prevent Armageddon. The bad is that characters are re-introduced into old scenarios with no reason for them to be there. And that I keep having to fight Baraka. WHY
  23. No choice at all. The story mode is divided into chapters where you play as a particular character. Usually a good guy, except for a few instances of playing a bad guy who considers changing teams.
  24. Yes, I'm paying attention to the plot. There's an entire mode dedicated to it. Plot holes aren't done on purpose. That's absurd. It's just lazy writing.
  25. Mortal Kombat The Story mode is a great inclusion. The writing is awful. The premise of the plot of this game is that Raiden from Armageddon sends a message back to Raiden of Mortal Kombat 1. So Raiden tries to figure out the cryptic message and changes things from the original MK timeline. The two problems with the writing are: 1) It's Mortal Kombat, yet nobody is killing anyone. Two guys die by the end of the second tournament (Mortal Kombat 2). If someone had just been smart enough to kill Baraka or Sheeva instead of conveniently forgetting they're around, I could have been saved a lot of pointless fights. 2) Not all of the timeline changes are justified or make sense. Some, like the Smoke/Sub-Zero change, are specifically lampshaded. But apparently Reptile was a regular participant in the first tournament instead of a special combatant. I can accept that. But why are Cyrax, Sector, and Baraka present at all?
