With it's 1.1.1 stats (0-250m/4t/10-13dmg) Vailian Hullbreaker is one of the best cannons in the game. However, as far as I know, it's possible to buy one (and only one) in Port Maje. No one sells them, VTC, RDC, Principi and slavers don't use them. Anyone knows where or how to obtain them? Or maybe it's a bug?

An interesting idea, I approve So let's think about it. I prefer Black Jacket over Ghost Heart: sure, Marked Prey/Marked for the Hunt is very nice, but Black Jacket has some very good passives, and Disciplined Barrage works very well with items. I recommend against bringing scrollcasting into the mix. The thing is, itembound spells are rather slow (on par with Cipher or Priest spells), and PoE 2 fights are very quick. It's either scrollcasting or "itemcasting", and - frankly - scrolls are much better than items. Besides, if you want to create scrollcaster, go Barbarian, they are absolutely the best with scrolls. However, I recommend Alchemy. You'll need speed, and Coral Snuff is one of the best (and easiest to get, for a Fighter) speed buff in PoE 2.

More more layering Problems
Teukros replied to Xaratas's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Ok, so now I wonder if I really have Scalawags Pack DLC installed? It's listed on DLC list (twice, see attachment), however it's unchecked. -
destructive channeling doesnt really do much dmg, the only thing i ever played that took meaningful damage from it was serafen on my first playthrough on 450%+ action speed time parasite pre 1.1. just start with the scrolls and be done with it, bonus accuracy from human is a nice bonus when it happens, not something you plan every encounter around. What about Berserker/Paladin? With dual wielded scepters you don't have to worry about carnage, confusion penalty will be negated by Mental Fortress, and Berserker's Frenzy inflicts raw damage over time. With Destructive Channeling it should be enough to unlock Blooded and Fighting Spirit. Also, with Lay on Hands you should be able to keep damage under control.

Turns out scrollcasting works with Frenzy, Blooded and Bloodlust Barbarian abilities. It also works with Fighting Spirit (human racial ability). So, I recommend human Barbarian dual-wielding scepters character with Destructive Channeling active. With Destructive Channeling you sholud reach Bloodied fairly quick. Then finish them with a few scrolls...

I suppose it isn't a matter of realism, it's a matter of presentation. The thing is, in Baldur-like cRPG (BG, Icewind Dale, PoE, Torment etc.) there is only one class: a fighter. You add (and substract) animations, descriptions, names etc., shoot a Minoletta Magic Missile instead of an arrow, but it's still a fighter. However, it's one thing to intellectually understand that cRPG is an abstraction, and that there is no real difference between a wizard and a rogue or a fighter, but it's another to have it shoved in your face. And with wizards and priests in PoE 2 it's really, painfully obvious...

Had this problem on the ground level of the Spire of the Soul-Seers.

Aloth: didn't care about him in PoE 1, don't care about him now. Eder: ditto. Maia Rua: manipulative, dutiful, but at the same time rather bland. Best to leave her in Neketaka. Pallegina: something bad happended in those five years, and a self-confident, mature woman turned into bitter misotheist. At least she sometimes thinks for hersef. Serafen: Mr. Disney Pirate, carefully constructed in such a way that he doesn't offend our modern sesibilities. Tekehu: spoiled, self-abosorbed, naive and very believable. In a world when your tribe (or a nation) is everything, Tekehu effortlessly spits on his, and doesn't even understand what is he doing. An excellent companion, probably the best to have around in Deadfire. Xoti: immature but also practical and straightforward, it's easy to understand and like her. Fassina: betrays Arkemyr at the drop of a gloves. Not really someone I would want to guard my back on a wolrd-saving quest. Konstanten: a hireling wiht a pregenerated class and name. Mirke: Ms. Fanservice/Comic Relief Pirate. Obsidian certainly know how to make pirates. Rekke: scrapped protagonist? Ydwin: short but interesting conversation at the beginning, then nothing. A disappointment.

Pondering the Godlike
Teukros replied to Jinjifra's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Frankly, I don't care too much about the avalible types of godlike (although I have to admit, that godlike concept feels a bit underexploited - I would love to play Woedica or Skaen godlike). Hovever, I wonder why they are so ugly in PoE 2? In PoE 1 godlike had exotic, a bit unearthly appearance, now they look like kith with serious skin condition. -
1) installed the game, played a few hours 2) deleted ALL the saves (no "continue" or "load" option avalible, only "new game") 3) tried to create a new character 4) have been returned to the main menu wtih "There was an error loading the next map. Returned to Main Menu to prevent save game corruption." message output_log.txt

I wonder why Poland is so well represented?
