It is stated that priestly power is derived from the priest's belief, not the god himself, in stark contrast to say, the Forgotten Realms where, if Bane does not favour you, you can be refused spells. IF this is the case then priests with clerical magic almost certainly must have existed before the "gods" were made- Despite the alleged chaos of the time that frightened Thaos, priests obviously had power, one would assume or despite what is stated, do you believe there was no divine magic before the gods were create?

Yeah, I have noticed. I think what could eventually be done would be a series of videos covering all the modding basics. Until then, it seems that getting overwhelmed by all the details might be a bit much. I remain largely unsuccessful in my modding endeavours and have engage in shameful mod requests to get the mods I want. Hopefully one day I can correct this.

At each new PL a Priest learns a new spell automatically. For example, a Priest of Berath automatically learns Touch of Rot at PL 1. If I wanted to reconfigure the spells a Priest auto-learns, is there any set of instructions to follow as in which files to look at specifically? I am trying to study some files but I only get hints and no concrete information from them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Ah sorry I didn't specify but its PoE 2 not 1 THAT Cloak IS STILL in the game. It is an RNG loot item but if you reload just before burial mounds you can get the cloak. I use it all the time. https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Cloak_of_the_Theocrat_(Deadfire)

Mod Requests
Stardusk78 replied to peardox's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire: Modding (Spoiler Warning!)
2 simple requests, which I am at present, incapable of implementing, much appreciated if done. Eder Paladin (Kindwayfarers) Rogue (Streetfighter) Holyslayer (Kindwayfarers/Streetfighter) Xoti Fighter (Devoted/Hatchet/Sickle) Priest (Gaun) Cleric (Devoted/Gaun) With Lantern Replenishing Fighter Resources On Kill Thanks in advance -
Thank you. I have looked at those files and it looks like chaos to me. I have looking at what I specifically need to alter but I cannot see anything concrete or what can remain. Is it possible to be any more concrete about the specifics? For example, the Paladin file has far fewer abilities listed than the original Data based file for Eder as a Fighter or Fighter/Rogue. Many thanks in advance.

Have you considered sharing the files if you choose to alter the Priest spells? The biggest overlap is between Berath and Rymrgand, which is I think natural as they both represent aspects of death. Berath is cyclical and Rymrgand is final. IF I had amazing modding powers like some do I would made Berath mostly about DOT and Rymrgand mostly about straight up damage. I posted a Rymrgand build I was using that was a spellcasting powerhouse in this light. I would focus more on entropy with Rymrgand and do the following: Rymrgand: Entropy, Final Death, Winter PL 1 Touch Of Rot (I think this is a good spell and appropriate even if there is some overlap with Berath but as we move up PL we should see some diversification) PL 2 Necrotic Lance (I think that as much as Rymrgand represents Winter, entropy and finality are stronger aspects so I would swap to this spell) PL 3 Deleterious Alacrity Of Motion (This spell has great utility but it comes at a cost, an entropic one, which is well suited to Ryrmgand's portfolio) PL 4 Noxious Burst (No Problem here) PL 5 Noxious Cloud (I think for continuity's sake this is more appropriate than Blast Of Frost) PL 6 Ningauth's Freezing Pillar (This spell is fairly amazing and there is not entropic alternative, so I say keep it) PL 7 Death Ring (excellent spell) PL 8 Fine Pl 9 Fine
