TSL dark robes looks like what Anakin wears in EP3
Darkwaters replied to Tyrell's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Actually, I'm going to judge whether or not I like KotOR2 better than the original soley on the robes. I mean, its obviously the most important aspect of any game (especially a Jedi game). -
Yea, but I don't dress like a Jedi...thats what throws most people off... I conceal my lightsaber under my big tall top hat. They never expect it...

Ok children lets calm down now. Seriously, both of you, this is not necessary. XboxSithLord, there is no reason to verbally attack him. The FAQs are there so that people can find this information and so the boards don't get cluttered with the same questions over and over. Old skool, if hes going to act like a child then don't drop to his level. Let flamers burn in their own flames.

says who? Yea, seriously. I would go more the route of Dak'kon from Planescape: Torment. Although, pretty much all of the NPC party members from Torment were freakin' awesome.

Goldeneye just had that funky aiming thing with the little yellow buttons going on. It was so freaking annoying. It made the game feel less smooth. Halo on the other hand felt that the controls were much nicer.
-
I never said there was. For some reason I thought they had gone public however. I tried briefly to figure out their symbol without success (obviously) and decided I'd simply ask here.
-
Oh, I hadn't realized that they were closely held. Pity.
-
What is the symbol for Obsidian Entertainment's stock?

Please make KOTOR 2 longer!
Darkwaters replied to SteveMcCool's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I can't see how he'd have known since we haven't finalized all the content yet! I thought that the game was all but finished and its just getting polished right now. I mean, there isn't all that much time left before the game is to be released. -
The concept art is just THAT good.......... Don't worry, someone is going to start a rumour about a nude code soon, then it will really get out of control.

Old Trilogy vs. New Trilogy vs. KOTOR
Darkwaters replied to sandman1347's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
What are you talking about? Yea, seriously! It seems to me like you're just watching the movie and not also LISTENING. Oh well, I guess the movies really don't do a very good job of portraying the Jedi's diplomatic uses very well. But its George Lucas, hes seriously losing his touch (IMO). -
Which Known KII Sith Lord Is Your Favorite?

I want to see Darth Bastilla again... -
Where GL gets his inspiration from!
Darkwaters replied to Darth Sun_Tzu's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You guys all watch that show? I saw it once and thought it was the most stupid thing ever. I figured it'd be cancelled pretty quickly, but if it has a following then I guess not. -
I agree, I think Bastilla really needs to come back because she was such an important character. I really don't get why people disliked Bastilla so much, I thought she was very useful and pretty cool. Sure, I don't like it when people whine...thats why I locked Mission away as soon as I could...lil' brat. But I never had a problem with Bastilla in the least.

No kidding. Whilst I have a lot of faith in Obsidian I just don't think that is possible. Its like making the Matrix sequels...everyone is expecting something like that now...so the magic isn't quite as potent.

Hey, welcome to Obsidian!
-
I had overheard that Obsidian was hiring but since I'm not a developer myself I didn't pay much attention. Did Obsidian just hire several more staff members? The reason I asked is because I noticed that at least 3 new developers registered for the forums today....are they new hires or simply guys that finally decided to participate in the forums....all on the same day?
-
We aren't hiring for QA at this time, sorry. :D Love the avatar. Did you draw it all on your lonesome? Actually, thats a screenshot from KotOR 2...they're...ummm...still working on that specific area though...you know, working all of the glitches out.

Old Trilogy vs. New Trilogy vs. KOTOR
Darkwaters replied to sandman1347's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
During the entire battle an Imperial Star Destroyer over orbit simply starts firing its turbo lasers at the planet and wipes out everything on the surface. The remaining ships leave. Sorry LOTR. Anyways, I love them both. I just wanted to have turbo lasers blast all of those orcs. -
Old Trilogy vs. New Trilogy vs. KOTOR
Darkwaters replied to sandman1347's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
1) The prequel trilogy is most definately crap compared to the original movies. Its all about the special effects now...not about quality movies. 2) KotOR's storyline is MUCH better. I mean, the whole eruption of the clone wars in episode 2 was TERRIBLE. 3) I see no hope for the prequels to be saved judging by the earlier movies. Well, I suppose the only thing that might save it is if they allowed Natalie Portman to actually, you know, act. She is a freaking goddess... Ok, so maybe I am a little partial to her and thing Natalie Portman is awesome and not her character. I'm just attracted to a beautiful girl with a 4.0 from Harvard and with 4 fluent languages under her belt. -
She should definately be back in a sequel. I don't know why she wouldn't want to be in it...she obviously has feelings for my character. I mean, she was kissing me in the back of the ship...why wouldn't she want to be in my party again?

Who wants to see a Sith Yoda-creature?
Darkwaters replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Frankly I'd rather instead of a sith Yoda creature have some original species that we've never seen before (or something from the books that has been discussed yet never shown before). Unfortunately, Star Wars games have fallen into the same stupid cycles as the terrible prequel movies. The original Star Wars movies introduced multiple alien races and made always turned your head, but since the original three all we're seeing is the same races over and over (making more familiar for the fans?). I would rather get back to originial idea of making the universe feel strange and mysterious instead of the ever present group of the same aliens. -
Killing another party companion early on...
Darkwaters replied to Dark Wanderer's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Maybe instead of simply killing off party members you could sell them into slavery like in Fallout 2. That way when you have certain party members (like the stupid twi'lek thief girl) that you never used anymore then you could just get rid of them and gain a few credits at the same time. -
Actually it has been said that the reason Palpatine was so messed over was b/c he used something similar to Battle Meditation, but he used it constantly and across his entire empire. Essentially the strain was so great and long lasting that it slowly caused his body to erode. There were of course times when he was not so focused on his forces, like during the battle of Endor when he was more devoted to turning Luke to his side. Supposedly the Empire should have easilly won that space battle, but without the Emperor's aid they were a confused mob of space cruisers. That concept is discussed in Timothy Zahn's Thrawn Omnibus.

Sub-Quests and Added Depth please
Darkwaters replied to Darkwaters's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
ok, that is true. Poor choice of words on my behalf. But if you think about it almost any game is likely going to be linear to some extent (especially an RPG b/c they are so dependent upon the story). But I still think that side quests add great depth, much needed depth. It just seemed like KOTOR was all about the primary story and did not diverge very much. So many things in the game were done so wonderfully, yet the game was very short and really had very little replay value (once light side, once dark side). Baldur's Gate 2 had so much replay value, it was ridiculous.
