He heh, Kyra is a cleric of Sarenrae, not a bare-hand-fighting monk like Sajan, but yes, her ability is good. However, I honestly did not use it for almost the whole playthrough and very seldom use it even on Legendary. Without Kyra or Seelah with their blessing-cycling powers, you will need the healing spells very much, especially in Legendary plathrough. Mass Cure is also looks very good, but consider you need two characters at the same place - in my case (Legendary restricts movement!), it is often sitting on the hand, doing absolutely nothing. As to your builds - I usually also increase the skills that are dominantly represented by the character. Merisiel needs her Dex+4, Seoni Cha+4. Beyond that, however, I usually do not have any great plan unless the character desperately needs a secondary skill. Harsk with spell-casting powers (Dex=>Wis), Seelah (in my case Wis=>Str and not the other way around) come to mind. Sometimes it is very entertaining to put skill points in some weird place. However, for better survivability in Runelords, Wisdom is one of the key skills. So if I don't know where to put skill feat, Wisdom is the way to go (unless that character has Wis 1d4 or so). If you look for any builds, go to paizo.com or maybe boardgamegeek.com, there should be more than enough in the forums there!

Daily challenge reward not recorded
Jenceslav replied to Sigurd33's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Did you confirm that gold count by clicking on the button to go back to Main Menu or Shop or Collection? My guess: 26 651 => 26 656 (showing briefly +10, 26 661); second location 26 656 => 26 661 (showing briefly +10, 26 666) Sometimes, the rewards for the daily challenge are seemingly doubled as well. I think it is a general bug -
Daily challenge reward not recorded
Jenceslav replied to Sigurd33's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
It may be device- or system-specific, but when the added gold flashes on the right part of my screen (giving X gold to a starting value of A), usually the final amount shown is A+2X instead of the correct A+X. That is a purely visual bug and should not cause you to 'lose' gold coins. The amount X is (as far as I am aware) almost always correct according to the in-game texts and shown challenge rewards, which sometimes was 'not exactly' true. Of course, there is something fishy about Fighter's Tales legendary rewards , but otherwise it is OK. Maybe you are experiencing something like this? Record the gold number before finishing the challenge and just after and note the difference. If it is the value shown in the challenge reward, you are OK. -
I am afraid they are neither. They do not show up in the Collection, nor are added to the Stash and I did not (so far) encounter them at all in the Fighter's Tale. If I remember correctly, none of them has check-to-acquire, right? If that is true, you will not meet them at all, anywhere, as there will be no check to acquire (Blessing of the Gods is the exception as it is 'automatically acquired when encountered' as written on the card). The one way to obtain them is to use a new Valeros hero and prior to any scenario hit the Deck management - this will allow you to change the basic deck composition and there should be a new Tab for Valeros. As all have "Owner: Valeros" trait, you might add them to your deck as 'repair' cards if you do not have enough cards of the given type in the Stash or Unclaimed. Edit: and of course only for Valeros or Goblin:Valeros, no other hero.

Have you tried "Vault return trip" - go to the shop and back? Or restart the game. If that does not "fix" things, you may consider forfeiting the scenario, unfortunately. I heard that this scenario is more bugged than the others, but did not observe such bugs - probably because my heroes tend to be as well-spread as possible to temporarily close locations. And because I really don't like this scenario at Legendary so there is no incentive for me to replay it.
-
If you open the character management screen, there are Powers, Cards and Completion tabs - if you go into the Completion tab and select the particular Adventure (Hook Mountain Massacre, perhaps? ), then the finished scenarios (of this hero) will be marked by a small skull with a check mark. Note that sometimes the Completion tab can be bugged (for a long time, Goblins scenarios names were showing instead of the correct ones in one adventure). Moreover, there is also one major change in the adventure completion - in AD6, the 1st adventure gives you a scenario reward plus the adventure path reward. In essence, you are temporarily 1 card feat in advance with respect to the tabletop game. And last remark - looking at Into the Mountains, its scenario reward provides Loot. As in the tabletop version, you cannot receive the same reward twice. So if you already have these loot cards, you will not receive them again - in this party. If you desperately need them, you can start another party, bring in someone who finished up to Into the Mountains and play the scenario in that party to receive loot. Edit: some changes after checking the game
-
Sadly, this is an 'old' and known bug - and you will have to forfeit if you are not able to cancel the Quill action... Runewell is buggy in both scenarios I ran into it. Scrying spell, Eagle and Revelation Quill freeze the game and you can only use Augury, spyglasses and (probably) some treasure card XYZ Detective. Once Runewell is in game (and probably once someone sets foot there), any scrying card that forces you to choose location to scry into freezes the game.

Some minor remarks from a well-meaining nit-picker Although EthicsGradient wrote a perfect summary, there are some simplifications there 1) Most Uncommon cards in the chests come from Class Decks (or even other Adventure Paths), 90%+ of "rare" (blue), "epic" (pink) and "legendary" (gold) cards are completely new. Some adventures have also "hidden" cards, mainly the Valeros adventure - that come from e.g. Skull & Shackles. Quartermaster and Master-at-Arms come to mind. 2) Both Heroic and Legendary difficulty also intensify the scenario rules so they become more severe. E.g. goblins are more difficult by 1d4, 1d6 and 2d4 in Normal, Heroic and Legendary versions of Assault of Thistletop, if I remember correctly. Plus 1-2 wildcards (based on these scenario rules) + movement restrictions in Legendary. Quite a challenge added. 3) Cards in the Collection are added by opening chests and should not go away at all. But... the game has an auto-truncating procedure that prunes away identical cards in excess of some number. At the moment, my Collection is literally littered (pun not intended) by Orbs of <Something>, a lot of them having exactly 30 instances. So unless your cards exceed this maximum, you are fine and are "adding cards to the box". 4) A big change from tabletop game - you may not choose NOT to attempt to acquire a boon. You always have to test it, even though you don't want that boon. I once lost a Wand of Enervation in the Vault of Greed - Ezren with Intelligence +4 and Arcane skill encountered some item with Intelligence or Arcane 6 check. Unsurprisingly, he succeeded and Wand of Enervation, banished you are!

I hope not, but it seems that the developers were moved to other games by Obsidian and then they managed to create the Goblins!adventure 2. Let's hope they will get back to the game, fix some obvious and easily correctable bugs and ... maybe ... bring some new content. The probability of that is, however, pretty low - I think.

Where are Valeros's cards?
Jenceslav replied to Galgano's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Same, that round is so brutal. and to top things off, the scenario effect gets down right nasty while the check to beat the muscle gets crazy. I had to train up an extra party member just to beat hard, i'm scared of how bad nightmare'll be. I don't know how many times I tried that particular scenario (always lost due to time), but you may try only 2 characters - fully levelled-up Valeros and Seelah with Iomedae-shuffling power, spell-recharging for her Crusade power, deck full of Blessings/Favors of Iomedae and several Greater Aid spells. The key here is Seelah, obviously, and her ability to withstand almost anything with recharging/shuffling of the crucial cards. In the end, I had a deck consisting only of spells and most of the blessings. :-D -
That is almost correct . In my experience, it is not awarded in one big chunk, but each of the scenarios has large reward for Legendary completion, which together add up to something about 5000 gold or so. Maybe a little more, I don't know. When I finally survived Legendary, it was ~ 1100 for some scenario, ~900 for another without any discernible trend. The whole adventure on Legendary did not give me anything more. Another case of easily repairable "bug" (wrong text) that detracts from the experience with this great game :|

Hello, Roscod. There is a long-time known bug that causes visual error with the weekly challenge progress bar. Sometimes, while advancing the daily challenge progress during the game, it will give the weekly challenge "bonus +1" as if the daily was finished. Reload usually helps and it will show the correct 2/3 instead of incorrect 3/3 (or 1/3 instead of incorrect 2/3). However, the weekly challenge is probably broken. No 1776 reward for me, either. But I noticed a treasure chest in my store that I think was not there before. Maybe I forgot to open it, but I doubt it. The game itself is very good (despite some bugs), but the mistakes such as this - wrong text, easily-correctable information, minor graphical issues - strongly discourage the players and builds up their frustration. We should try to force Obsidian to ease some workload on the developers of this game (they are working at different games) and give them the time to fix the minor stuff.

Where are Valeros's cards?
Jenceslav replied to Galgano's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I suppose they will be always available to any new Valeros character - I never tried it, but for testing purposes I created Goblin_Valeros for Rise of the Goblins double-adventure and standard Valeros for Rise of the Runelords. In both cases, Valeros 'loot' cards were available. For me, the bad thing were some of the rolls in the Barroom brawl with The Muscles (not a Combat check, but Strength - and me having no Blessings of Torag, few of Cayden Cailean). But mostly, it was the 30turn clockdown. -
Where are Valeros's cards?
Jenceslav replied to Galgano's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Unfortunately, neither. If I remember correctly, you can only access these cards during the creation of new Valeros character after you unlock them. If you start a new Valeros character, preferably in a new party, and click Manage Deck before playing the first scenario, you will have a new Tab in the menu below (along with Unclaimed and Stash). You can use Stash to bring them to any Valeros, though. All of them are 'repair' cards worth 0 gold. Theoretically, you might be able to show these when repairing your deck and not having enough boons of the correct type in the Stash or Unclaimed tabs. So, get a new Valeros and transfer all the boons you like to another, levelled Valeros. Also, kudos for you for completing the Legendary scenarios, it took me many tries to finish some of them (The Muscles and Kobolds are the worst, Aberrations easiest with some good casters). -
Recharging The Wrong Character?
Jenceslav replied to Kadrin's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Huh, that is very strange - I suppose it was after encountering the Villain and you are trying to temporarily close the location City Gate. You should be able to recharge only with the character encountering the Bandit. Strange. However, try a different thing. Sometimes you have to have a particular character selected before you can successfully hit the "Back" button. So try selecting Amiri and press the red X button to cancel her recharge. Maybe it will work, but you have probably tried that. -
Well, I maybe wasn't really clear - my idea was not to add Seelah, but to narrow the hero roster to 2 characters only: Valeros (required) and fully-levelled Seelah. During my play through the game, I created three different parties and played the whole game with five different groups to level them (some were deleted, so Kyra, Merisiel and Ezren were used twice). That way, I got up to three instances of interesting Loot (Revelation Quill) and even more Chellan swords due to some bug. One of them is sitting in my Stash along with three Aldern Foxgloves.

That is the beauty of this game - great variability that increases with the number of chests opened. You may encounter one specific card during a gameplay (and hopefully acquire it), but you may not see that card at all! Your sorceress desperately wants Charm Person? It's up to luck to find it (and be able to acquire it)... Chest cards are exceptions and some people like to clear the Unclaimed tab completely to have as pure tabletop experience as possible. Adventure reward is awarded once and only once to any hero that completes the whole adventure and the Card reward should be considered separate, as "Adventure reward (Legendary)". If your heroes played through the adventure once (probably, as you need complete Normal and Heroic difficulty scenarios), so they already got that reward. Yes, it is not positioned perfectly and clearly, but the GUI is really impressive for a complex game with lots of stuff going on as Pathfinder...
-
I cannot help you with the chest issue, but do you remember if there was a unique or remarkable card among those in the missing chest? If so, you can check the Collection. The main thing the chest does is unlocking the card for future encounters, secondary to that is the Unclaimed tab. If you have it in the Collection, you did not lose anything, just need some luck finding it. Regarding the Orik's Shield - I do not know how it works now, but these rewards for Legendary playthrough (all 3 or 5 scenarios in the adventure) might be just unlocked and go to the Collection (check it) without addition to the Stack. Character feat meaning what? You receive the rewards for the completion of adventure once for a given character, if and only if they finished all scenarios in the adventure. You can check it with Party management screen, tab Completion. The completed scenarios will be marked - each has its own reward; after the whole adventure (several scenarios), there is another adventure reward, usually skill or card feat. There is even one reward for the adventure path (card feat; for completing AD1-6 adventures), which is somewhat incorrectly, but understandably, awarded in the scenario 6-1 Cabin in the Snow.

While playing an ordinary Legendary Playthrough in the Rise of the Runelords - Attack on Sandpoint (AD1-1), Kyra found a strange spell when exploring the Sandpoint Cathedral - Burn Everything(s). That is supposed to be separate from RotR and available only in Rise of the Goblins, as it is unlocked after Legendary playthrough in one of the RotG adventures, right? Apparently, it can be allowed even in the core adventure path. Another (probable) bug is that Burn Everything(s) applies its 1d4 bonus even to its own recharge check, so Kyra had 1d12+1d4+8 for the check. The last bug relates to the "+8" bonus - Kyra with Wisdom +4 and Divine bonus +2 should have only +6, but the Divine Collector bonus incorrectly applies as well (+2 bonus to acquire cards with Divine trait). She shares this bug with Ezren's Spell Collector - in both cases, the bonus to acquire applies even to recharging of the already acquired cards. Edit: Kyra and recharge with Divine Collector. When you play the Blessing of Norgorber in the check to recharge a played Divine spell, you will get 2 dice added, similarly to Desna. That means the game really thinks you are acquiring the spell and adds the Collector bonuses.

It is an overly-difficult scenario, especially on Legendary, as each tier of difficulty increases The Muscle's check by +5 (not listed anywhere in the accompanying texts, similar with Kobolds and Abberations in other Valeros' scenarios). And you are right that Str 11 or 16 (or whatever) is too difficult for most characters. Valeros and Seelah after AD6 are probably the best shot - due to Seelah's Crusade. And if you pack her with 5 Blessings of Iomedae, 1 Favour of Iomedae, some Cure or Great Aid spells, fully-upgraded Iomedae-and-spell-shuffling power, then you might be able to beat it. I may not be the best player, but it was the only party composition I tried that could finish the scenario - with luck.

This goes right over my head. And I don't have the fast reflexes to catch it. We can have different opinions, but I think Kyra is not really great as a melee fighter (1d6+2? Huh - Ranzak's Survival 1d4+3 is in the same category). I prefer Kyra to be a Divine damage caster and healer. The latter part is where she shines as Lini and maybe Seelah can be better divine damage dealers than Kyra. OK, Lini is much worse Melee fighter even than Kyra, but with Animals and some use of Change shape, she can be better.

Player Character level-ups
Jenceslav replied to DeviousIncubus's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Now it is a little bit different. Party management has this nice little red (+) button that allows you to load an existing character or create a new one. One particular character (say, your leveled-up Meri) can be only in one party at a time. When you try to load an existing character that already is in a party, there will be a little lock present in the icon. If you want to unload a character from a party, you click the little red (-) button on that hero. You cannot have two instances of the same hero in one party - so no Merisiel #1 teamed up with Merisiel #2 -
Hello DeviousIncubus, first you have to be logged in through Game Center (iOS), Google Play Games (Android) or Asmodee account (anything, I think). Then, the Store icon should appear in the lower left side of the main screen (Menu) along with Challenges button. Once upon a time, you could have unlocked the characters in the Store using Gold coins, now you have to pay for it with RealMoney. If you have only the basic game (B deck) on mobile / tablet, you can choose two options: 1) Unlock Rise of the Runelords as a whole (adventure deck AD1 to AD6, character add on deck) in the first tab of the Store - now you will have all 11 standard characters, all promo cards and all standard adventures unlocked. A separate purchase is needed for the two goblin adventures (2+1 more characters, with goblin type, obviously) and Valeros adventure (1 more fighter character). 2) Unlock only the characters that you like (I think the third tab in the Store?) and some adventures (second tab?). This is somewhat cheaper if and only if you plan to buy only a part of the game. If you want the whole game, go for option 1) I hope this explains it for you. Without access to the Store, you will be able to play only with Kyra and Merisiel. They are not bad characters (even though Kyra is a bad melee fighter and useless ranged fighter), and some of their banter during gameplay is funny.

Very nice summary of "What is wrong with power X?" - during my GoblinRunelord playthrough (Poog+Ranzak+Tup), I noticed the first two bugs. I once used the power twice in one turn (skill check involved), but to do it 16 times or more? Wow, that must be really crazy, especially in AD6 - you want ten Sihedron Rings? No problem.
-
I have just completed that scenario for the first time on Legendary. You almost have to use AD6-level characters, preferably with high base strength. The +5 to defeat The Muscle at Heroic is still OK, but +10 on Legendary? On top of burying a card on each turn? And the Barkeep has only Charisma in his second check to defeat? No Diplomacy? Crown of Charisma is very very sad. My group consisted of Valeros, Amiri and Seelah, with no big changes to their decks. It was doable only because of Seelah's IomedaeCycling (shuffle Iomedae back again and again and again) and almost fully improved Crusade. Two uses of Mass Cure saved Valeros, but Amiri died due to repeated burying. In the last turn (when you fail to acquire a boon, -1 blessing deck = very bad Wild Card), Seelah encountered the Barkeep and used two Blessings of Iomedae (Favor + normal one) for the second check. At that time, her deck contained 7 cards only (1 Great Aid + blessings of Iomedae). This was almost worse than AD6-5. Similarly difficult was for me the UltimateKoboldNightmareOfDestruction, where the Kobold Heretic at Legendary is crazy. +10 bonus to both check's difficulty, +2d6 additional increase due to being Kobold, does big Force damage and is undefeated for the first time? Huh. On top of that, the Kobold lair has Fortitude X to close it, with Kobold Warrior increase in difficulty being added to it. No Constitution, only Fortitude => Armored Valeros is needed, otherwise you have 1d4 as standard. Amulet of Fortitude is also great for that. And to get it more interesting, Kobold Hunters with +10+2d6 (2d6 = usually 10 to 12) = +21 difficulty are encountered every turn. Seelah & Armored Valeros did it in the end (definitely not easily). On the other hand, the Sycorius (5th scenario) is terribly easy even on Legendary. Combine Valeros with Seoni and Lini or other heavy caster (Tup, Ezren, ...). Who needs weapons anyways to defeat 21 difficulty Wrathful Sinspawns? And Sycorius with only his "bury some cards" and much lower difficulty compared to the Heretic is also a "weak" Villain. One Disintegrate deals with him (Pharasma on top to make it 99%+). The other big weak point of Valeros campaign (apart from some bugs) is the incorrect text for rewards. You unlock the Loot cards for Legendary run and not for Normal or Heroic. There is no 5000 for completing the adventure, but it is probably divided among the Legendary and/or Heroic playthrough. You can get 750 gold for most Legendary scenarios (definitely 2 and 3) and 1000 for others (4 and 5). I don't remember the first one, but it might be even 1250 gold. And this is easily fixable, only by changes in the text. Nothing more is needed. Edit: Apparently, the 5000 gold reward is there, but was awarded probably only after restarting of the game, as I had (surprisingly) something over 6000 gold. Nevertheless, some changes in text should be made and everything will be fine
