1. keira (sp?) the only person int he game thus far (outside of the guy with the mask) who wears a dark cloak with a hood. 2. the guy with the mask and red eyes could be a sith lord but I am betting on one of the dark presstige classes like say assassian 3. don't know because that type of blue robe was used for the jedi knights in KOTOR. you might have been able to pick them up off of dead people but when you saw them before you killed them they were always wearing black. now here is a question for you to think about, why is it that in the trailer about 28 seconds into it, that the PC walks away from the manadlorians calmly???? I would think being that close to mandalorians either you would attack them or they would attack you. unless some new peace loving mandalorians have taken power since the last game.

I voted for Revan to die before the begining of the game. I know this has been said before in another thread but Revan shouldn't show up in the game because it would take away from the PC, if it takes killing him/her off then so be it. I do think that the sotry of Revan should be important through out the game but not Revan himself/herself.

Generally speaking MOST people do have a dvd player IF their computer is capable of dunning either of the two games. For those who don't then it doesn't become an issue of the cost of the dvd drive but how much you would use it once you got it. I have a home dvd player and one in my computer I very rarely use the one in my computer other than to access the dvd-rom features on the dvds I rent or purchase. I know dvd drives are costly but you will have to buy one sometime in the near future because soon the game producers will start making dvd only versions of the game and then you will HAVE to upgrde or miss out on games that you want to play... oh and by the way I would imagine that if the producers all start making dvd only games you will find the price of dvd drive to increase in price agian because the need is there for them to do so. But (there is always a but) maybe Lucas will make two different versions of the game one for cd only people and one for those of us who want dvds. Another thought is that if you would have to upgrade your computer to be able to play either game then the thought of buying a new computer that could play the game might not be a bad idea. For those of you who said you can't afford to buy upgrades for one reason or another then you are looking at a slow death in the gamming world because as we all know technology doesn't stand still and you will be forced to upgrade sooner or later. So why not start setting money aside to upgrade as it is needed say by passing up on one or two games here or there till you have the money to purchase the upgrades your computer needs. because you can always purchase the games at a later date maybe even for less than you would have paid when the game first came out.

Are you sure about that? Don't blank DVD's cost a whole lot more than blank CD's? I am sure of that, you have to remember that the prices you are seeing are inflated due to atleast three reasons 1. New technology is always more exspensive than old technology. 2. everyone who touches the tech always increases the price. 3. companies who make cds and dvds movies or games buy thousands upon thousands of them so their price for making the game is considerably less then the general consumers price would be. If I have answered you question by now please move onto the next post in the thread as what I have wrote below is merely an example to prove the point made above. While all the prices might no be correct it worked as an example when my professer gave to my econ class. I heard it said once that the cost to make a music cd was around 25 cents. thats including everything that goes into the cd to make it ready for sale to the public (i.e. music, rights to the music, artisit cut, producers cut, etc.). A game cd would cost more probably around 30-40 cents (because of the developers time and energy that went into it, voice acters, advertising, etc.). A dvd costs around 50 cents to put a movie on it same reasons or atleast for some of the same ones anyway. Finally a dvd game since there isn't much to go on here but I would guess it would have the same price increase as from music cd to game cd meaning it would cost around 60-70 cents. Before you shoot it down because of the price of things in the store keep in mind when activision buys the cds for produceing its games they will buy millions of cd/dvds at one time. Now having said that an average cd sells in canada for around $15-17 to start, and a DVD costs around $25-30. now I know that each person in the chain from producer to wholesaler to retail store (i think I might be missing one or two there) will increase the price to make at minimum a 100% profit per unit more than likely it will be around 300% meaning it wont take long to go from even say 25 cents per unit to $15 per unit. 25 cent cost x 300% = $1.00 selling price $1.00 x 300% = $4.00 $4.00 x 300% = $16.00 Final sale price on shelves. it doesn't take long to go from dirt cheep to what we see on the shelves. But getting back to a dvd costing less than four cds yes they would. given the example above a dvd would cost about double what a cd would cost to produce, but less than half of what a pack of four cds would cost to produce

I would think the whole DVD idea would be better cost wise for the devlopers and for lucas arts because it would simply cost less to produce one dvd than 4 cds. Also from our stand point maybe they could include behind the scenes extras on the dvd that wouldn't fit on the cds??? who knows right now for all we know they might be doing the dvd thing or they might just decide agianst it because not everyone has a dvd player in their computer... mind you most computers that are capable of running either game (saying that KOTOR II will have the same system reqiurments as KOTOR) will most likely have a dvd pre-installed on their computer or would have upgraded to a dvd player since the purchase of their computer.

In canada I am looking at paying around $70 - $85 CDN so I guess thats what I would pay and as for how much it would have to be priced before I would buy it I would say above $85 CDN

Apparently Obsidian has decided to stay away from that solution. I think that is a good thing: imagine you do not have a save game to feed KOTOR II, then what? Should you be stuck with the default history? Should it be random? Obviously either would be highly frustrating for the player. Using the save game is fine for an expansion, since you expect it, not for a second opus, or in a very limited and inconsequential fashion (golden pantaloons in BGII). The approach they seem to have taken is much better in my opinion, the difficulty being to integrate it into the storytelling and gameplay. A Q&A before launching the game would be rather lame, not that the developers ever considered that as a solution. Yeah but what i meant was some sort of memory reading thing for the people who do have a kotor save on their machine, and the questions thing we know is going to be in for the new players, but that would probablly take ages to integrate and stuff like that nevermind it was just a thought anyway the question I have is what about people who have multiple save files how would the game pick the right one? I have 9 different saved games at the moment and if I had to look at the save files I couldn't tell which was which, so I have to agree with the idea of having the PC answer the questions during the gameplay.

I always use double-bladed lightsaber, I have tried the others and found that they aren't as usefull atleast for me anyway, I found when using either single or two lightsabers I missed more and did way less damage than when using the double-bladed saber

the only problem with your time frame is that the new year falls in there and thus makes winter 2004 turn into winter 2005 as of 12:00 AM January 1st. Also while the first day of winter is dec 21, most people consider winter to be from the first time the snow falls and stays on the ground till the vast majority of the snow is gone.

very good points there but don't diss trekies they might beem you up to the enterprise and then vaporize you with a phazer... now do you really want that to happen...well maybe some on the boards might but I doubt you would, I hear it hurts like a mother when you get vapourized BTW the PT SUCKS!!! I am sorry to say but there is no way to sugar coat the bad acting, even worse plot development, and over use of FX in them.

here is a thought maybe its carth... maybe dustil tought him how to use the force and then carth and dustil became darth lord and apprentice? or hey maybe the masked guy is dustil... maybe some lucky SOB got to finally kill carth and so dustil being distrought over his newly found fathers death took up the art of the dark lords and became one in order to cope with his father death and kill the person who killed carth... hey its an idea maybe not a good one but still an idea

And what makes you so sure that he will play a large role? why would Obsidian spend so much time implementing a system where various questions are asked about how the previous game played through unless they intended to have Revan play a significant role? It doesn't make sense to allow the player to describe the events of the first game if Revan won't even have a major part in it. so....in other words.....you're guessing! I agree that it is possible that, that is why they are having you answer the questions but at the sametime I would also say that, considering they are bringing back past NPCs for cameos then it would be so that the story matched what had already happened in your games in the original KOTOR rather than saying... ok you were a lightsider, because we say so and this is how the new story is going to play from there. Plus if you did go DS and kill carth wouldn't it look stupid if carth walked up to you on telos and started talking to you? I know from a certain stand point you idea of why they want you to answer the questions makes sense and very likely could be correct but I can't see then doing it because of the fact that you could customize revan in many different ways besides his/her looks. But then agian this is only my opinion and for all I know I could be wrong so I guess I will have to wait and see when the game comes out.

Why couldn't you get the lightsaber crystal AS a trophy or as a prizae? I mean most of the crystals are worth alot of money so what better to give to a sector champion than something worth alot of money. Also seeing that the game is based around the jedi and only you can win the championship it's not like a gamorian is going to take the championship in the end because you always have the chance to beet his/her time, so then would it not also make sense that a prize would be useful to you as a jedi?

Are you saying that Revan IS going to be a main part of the game play? I didn't mean the revan story I mean having revan as a NPC or as a main boss or anysuch thing like that.

Hey dev's, I read some place that your powers and feats animation will get better the more you use the power or feat. what I was wondering was... 1. will you alignment affect how strong your power is (i.e. if your a DS will "Force Heal" restore less health than if you were a LS or if your a LS will "Force Storm" do less damage than if your a DS)? 2. Same as above but will your level affect the strength of your powers?

I voted that Revan shouldn't play a big role in the game. I think it would be alright if you got to see him/her agian and find out what happened to them after the end of KOTOR but they shouldn't be in the main game play IMO anyway.

The idea of another crystal cave is cool but I would also like to see more powerful crystals in the game like the Heart of the Guardian, Mantle of the Force, or some new more powerful crystals. It would be nice if they gave you a powerful crystal for finishing a swoop track or doing a side quest or maybe when you got your prestige class.

I think I would prefer if it was called "Gundown the Gungans"
