  1. Sorry, totally should have been more clear and maybe mistaking the conversation a little - I am not against having more options, I totally agree with that part - and I looked around it doesn't seem like you can console the challenges into a game, and not sure someone could mod them either, though there is also a forum for requesting mods. I only think that if you do play with the blessings or certain mods, it should disable gaining the achievement - that way people can still be like look I beat the game with all the god challenges running, and solo without ever resting and using only a dagger with leather armor ... which sounds pretty good in my book. Personally though I am like you I don't care that much about competing, especially since I like a lot about the game ... edit: On the flip side, after I wrote the above I also see how keeping the challenges totally separate makes them kind of exclusive and extraordinary ... which again you either like that or not lol. Also, maybe its a question that the challenges need be upped a little in terms of difficulty and less appealing as ways to play the game - personally the idea of armor/weapons that break sounds really good and would be nice to play along with an experience reduction mod. But if I had to choose between extra bonuses, or armor that breaks, I would choose armor that breaks every time and earn that cash, weapons, items and stats the good ole fashion way - as a pirate!
  2. In the mods forum they did request the use of mods in the challenge modes that didn't effect game stats/difficulty, and the moderator's agreed it was a good idea so you may see that in the future As for the blessings and mods that change game stats ... not sure I agree - they are supposed to be achievements for bragging rights - if you can tweak them too much it takes that away but I am sure you could use the console to activate the challenge mode aspects inside any game but not sure?? You just wouldn't get the achievement. I think the game is fun regardless because of the variety, and have yet to experience a game breaking bug - but I know they are out there too
  3. https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/158 try this mod it also alters pen and AR it also adds extra level scaling over what deadly deadfire does How is this mod, does it feel more versatile than Deadly Deadfire? Also, they did introduce new enemies with the last POTD balance, so that definitely seems a possibility!!
  4. I agree more unique enemies with extended abilities that they pepper throughout the game to up POTD difficulty Introduce a few new character quests for say those like Pallegina The ability to capture boats and sell them if you meet certain conditionals - like enough uninjured crew, extra helmsman (wishful thinking request) I keep starting the game over so haven't finished it totally yet so all my ideas may be way off the mark!!!
  5. Yes, upping the later level/game balance is a great idea!!! Fixing the Xaurip bug would be amazing too, and if they aren't they should be working on POE3 already!!!! On another note, not sure I ever had to fight a boss in POE1 without having all my spells and all my food/potion/etc buffs from resting, but that being said definitely impossible to argue that in theory the game could be easier with having per encounter spell abilities, especially since the game actually is easier. Interesting though in early game I find myself relying heavily on my Power Level boost to re-up my spells, especially in tough fights so I often get the same feel as POE1- but in late game I can see how this disappears. Just not sure per level is a huge factor in the game difficulty as they should be able to balance the game regardless - at least in theory.
  6. Wait! It is still in the no spoilers section didn't it get moved??
  7. This happened to me too - someone else posted it as a bug in the forum - I actually experienced it 3 different ways: 1) saved games worked but no dialogue 2) exactly as you described 3) then worked with dialogue Not sure! AH
  8. I have never played an RPG to this day that effectively implemented a resting system that couldn't be gamed when necessary, not that they aren't out there somewhere, and not that these aren't great ideas!!! Honest though if I need to rest in a Dungeon it is like I lost ... I enjoy pushing my characters as far as possible, and truth, if I need to rest and there are limitations, I always find ways around it ... so not sure Obsidian isn't hip to that ... Maybe combined with Trial By Iron you could definitely up the challenge level. Without limiting the ability to save and reload like Trial By Iron offers, I am not sure limiting resting will do much in terms of game play since dice-role games like this can always be gamed another way - with a lot of reloading All in all resting is such a thing I try to avoid whatever RPG I play, and it's a game mechanic that rarely bothers or makes me excited. Now if there was an RPG that made you use the restroom, and you got penalized in battle ... wait never mind. Also, I thought in previous game versions, say the original on release, that some of the buffs fell off after a full-day cycle of traveling, did they change this or was I imagining this?
  9. Hey! In the Egwithan Digsite / Arena Sub-level, in the room to the left of where you get the Gladiator Sword, the fight with the Imp Brines and spiders gets a little tricky when you can't target the attacking Imp Brines! Here is the bug, I explode the barrel to make the fight easy, and it kills some of the Imp Brines, but untargetable, attacking Imp Brines appear. Strange thing is if I let them spawn before I explode the barrel it is a normal fight. Easy to get around the fight not a game breaker but just throwing this out there, seems like there is some other bugs with untargetable enemies in 2.0 so just adding to the list. Save game link! https://drive.google.com/open?id=15lxvHHRKLzpkvc4w2IRIh0Yp57nZW80n If you want a screenshot let me know Am playing with 2 mods - one that give you less experience and one where I have changed the Reckless Brigadine to look like the normal Brigadine. Thanks! Aaron
  10. The real question here - why wouldn't you want to be a pirate??? I mean ... I work at a desk under fluorescent lights with some older woman or dude constantly giving me orders - please just let me be a pirate for the weekend lol Maybe tmi - but honest, I have found the most interesting thing about this game that makes it different from other crpg games is the pretty deep content surrounding major quests and side-quests, but Obsidian's choice not to make any of this content conditional on completing quests - giving a whole new meaning to the word open world. No spoilers so I won't elaborate, but just like you don't have to be a pirate, you don't have to do a lot of things in this game, but the depth of experience is still there if you want it Totally unlike any other RPG I have played.
  11. Hey! So it seems on my system the Death Guard fight is pretty bugged in the Forgotten Catacombs right now on the 1.2 patch. Just going into the fight the Fampyr doesn't move, Xoti has a weird thing happening every time she attacks there is like 20 messages for her finishing an ability. The whole level was a little buggy but this was the worst section. You can kill the Fampyr but his body just stood standing up when he died almost as if he was still stuck, weird I think he charmed one of my guys once - not 100 percent sure if that was him or the Death Gaurd. Here is my Saved game: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yT4sQOta8aJOTQLu143fbrsh2z-RNLWj/view?usp=sharing Here is my system info below: OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.17134 Build 17134 System Manufacturer Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. System Model Z270X-UD5 System Type x64-based PC Processor IntelĀ® Core i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz, 4201 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s) Grfx NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Vram RAM 32 GB Otherwise love the update, using an experience mod and it is making it really fun - um, I tried this level with and without the mod and got the same bug with the Fampyr. Thanks! Aaron Howell
  12. Ha! Hmm, I normally don't go down these rabbit holes but this one got me. So BG2 was great for me because of the promise of a huge immersive world, high-level spells and abilities, and some super sick D&D style magic weapons (that you could steal for that matter!!!) - in the end did it deliver that huge immersive world? Not really. Don't get me wrong the story was amazing, but it also kind of turned from a tale about a god into a tale about an elf, I mean if you read any of the books about the Times of Trouble, BG2 really didn't capture what really went down. TOB was pretty light in terms of story and combat, Watcher's Keep was pretty great minus some of the very tedious Demon Level fights. Difficult combat made it great! But even Pools of Radiance had good D&D combat, weapons and spells if you want to go back that far. My expectations for POE2 were so high that when I first played, and the game wasn't well balanced I just walked through the whole thing - not fun (well I kind of ran around the whole game board like a chicken with my head caught off once I got to Neketaka barely paying attention to anything but looking for that difficult fight). So I stopped halfway through lol and waited for the update - now the game in terms of story / companions / fighting is much better (sic - with an experience tweak mod, and will go back to a difficulty mod too once a good one is out). POE is my favorite RPG since Ultima 5. I mean serious lets bring back DOS (not Divinity Original Sin, actual DOS) based interactions please, only way to have a truly open world (lol - I know no one will agree). POE2 lives up easily to POE and may be a better game - maybe - can't decide yet but: Deadfort - great Tikawara - great Neketaka - great Serefan - great Xoti - great Aloth - great Eder - great Slave Island - great And the list goes on and on in terms of amazing and fun content. I guess it all depends what you like. I actually enjoy games like POE and POE2 over the Divinity games. I prefer a little more realism and more punishing combat - DOS and DOS2 is just a little too easy with all the super powers - literally you feel like super hero team. AND that being said don't get me wrong - DOS2 and DOS were totally fun and rad games, and worth it to play. Haven't played Witcher 3 but just bought it on sale lol - really not a fan of hand/eye coordinated combat in RPG games but gonna give it a try, I mean the game seems pretty awesome. Back to the original question - do I like POE2 better than BG2 - of course just because the game is newer, graphics are better, and the combat is good. If BG2 looked like POE2 would I like it better - I guess I will never be able to answer that question ; )
  13. Hmm, Ranger multi-class is pretty good agree- but only with Ghost Heart so you don't have to worry about your pet dying when the enemy charges you - which they like to do for some reason ... plus the bear can really take some damage when needed. I don't know without min/max and just a high perception and marked prey they deal consistent damage, which I can't say the same for any of the other classes at low level.
  14. Hey! I am playing with an experience point reduction mod and game is super fun!! Gracias!! Found a few more bugs: 1) Walked into King's Coffin in Dunnage and when I got close to the bar, a notice chimed up that there was a trap nearby, didn't see a trap at all though (am I missing something maybe??) 2) [this might not be a bug] The enemy cannibal characters in the Temple of Tangaloa Ruins - for some reason when I attacked them this time, some of them didn't react who were standing out of sight - though I was hanging further back than I normally do as I wanted to lay a trap for them with a rogue drawing them through the choke point walls and into the trap, as I was worried about my level. 3) when I hover over my stats for my characters if they have a bonus - it doesn't always give me a breakdown of where the bonuses are coming from - also do bonuses from items stack in POE2 - I know they weren't in POE1 but they currently are in my playthrough? Could this be the experience mod I am using? 4) along with the yellow level up circle remaining, I also somehow got a blue one to stay there also on Xoti 5) sometimes my party members when trying to use Second Wind and/or other abilities just sit there forever and it never activates, it is very random though and I can usually jog between abilities and get the one I need to work
  15. Hey- So the fish merchant in Queen's Berth - the items that he sells an infinite amount for purchase only allows me to click the up arrow to the amount of "2" then I have to manually type in the remaining amount. Not sure if intended or was introduced with a previous update. That being said, would still love to see more balance in regards to enemies too - game could be tougher still. I mean, I remember pre-BG2 games that really made you have to work for those levels to pass certain stages - like Pools of Radiance, but that was so long ago who knows if I am remembering correctly ... I mean I always used Ultima V as my standard for RPGs ...
  16. Same here, only on "Exit to Desktop" for me! Can't find a crash log for it.
  17. So happy you updated ship combat, though I didn't mind so much the brutal damage I took for Closing to Board a Galleon with my smaller ship, that just barely didn't sink my ship but I would have been okay if it actually sank my ship ... FYI - I really like the ship combat encounters!!!
  18. Please make this game as hard as utterly possible, no need to hold back The more I have to think outside the box to win battles, even looking into the forums for answers (though it kills me to give up without doing it on my own), the more I love the game. For the record I was all for the sand blight PoTD encounter in the last backer beta patch, I thought it was amazing that it was so difficult at the level cap.
  19. I noticed my mercenary fighter gets stuck and can't attack anymore when attacked with the sirrococa(SP??) sand blight attack or it could be from the regular sand blight attacks that leave the character dazed, and not sure it was reported. It's like he gets stuck by having no concentration or stuck in permanent mirage - I still can't quite figure out what the hell is happening. Only happens when he takes a couple damage hits in the killing swirling sand fight ... and once he was stuck, then one of the scarab beetles knocked him down and he was unstuck. When he gets stuck though, he is stuck no amount of reloading or moving around will get him back, had to restart the whole area again.
