Politics and Statesmenship: A Forum Special Report

I like the idea of Wikileaks, but the guy in my eyes broke his own rules, he weaponized his gathering and dissemination of information in the name of his own personal ego- he basically became what he tried to fight against. It seems like he was a little naive when he started Wikileaks, thinking it would place him into hero status - but when he bucked those willing to ruin his life with whatever charge they could find against him (basically 21st century politics - maybe even created), he realized he might end op a martyr - or basically just a criminal - so he weaponized Wikileaks as the noose got tighter. Anyway Wikileaks needs to exist - Julian Assange I could care less about at this point, he is just as bad as everyone else. My final criticism - he basically stayed in jail for how many years in an embassy? If he had any self-respect he should of turned himself in, or been like Paul Watson - live on a boat in international waters lol. Last, I don't have all the facts, but in my own layman understanding, this is how I see him. Either that or he and Snowden were just Russian spies to begin with -

I mean as reasons go though: 1 - Obama - Great Recession and ACA 2 - Bush #2 - Tax Cuts, 9/11 and Iraq War 3 - Trump - tax cuts (he could potentially argue he boosted economy to shore it up for a better bargaining position on trade - but that seems like a long shot to me) I don't know my point was not sure I would have grown the deficit just for a Tax Cut. For all the talk why don't they ever cut the budget first then base the tax cuts on what they were able to save at least - I am gonna answer my own question - because that wouldn't sell politically. -

https://www.nbcnews.com/card/poll-58-percent-voters-approve-president-trump-s-handling-economy-n992706 It is just one poll, but I agree this will be a major deciding factor in 2020, and Trump has a few things up his sleeve to make sure nothing goes too far South ... the first and foremost locking in trade deals in the next 2 years, fingers crossed. Not sure it was smart of him to balloon the deficit though for where we are at now ... -
So checked and am definitely using a 25 percent reduction. my main character is a few experience points shy of level 20 (189,371). Just doing the math if you added another 5% reduction my character would have just hit level 19 (178,000 approx). Some of my party members are still level 17 though, again I don't think I will be able to level up everyone to 20. I don't know you may be able to go to 35 percent ... from what I hear there is a lot of experience in SSS, I read somewhere you can even gain two levels but my experience even with BoW is that I gained a level for the DLC - so if you count the two DLCs - that is at least two levels left to gain. So if I played a 35 percent reduction from the start, that would put me right now just below Level 19 on the high end of 18 - so with two DLCs left and expecting at least a level each - that would mean level 20 right before the final section of the game I don't know though its tough to say Edit: At 35 percent it may also make some areas really tough.

I am using a mod I think at 25-27 percent reduction (I can check for sure later on) on PoTD upscale difficulty only and I am pretty much at the last portion of the game and I am about to hit level 20. It is possible that I might no be able to level up all my companions and sidekicks, though I haven't quiet finished yet so not 100 percent sure. I believe it will be close anyway like Level 19 for everyone with my main party being 20 (or 20 all around but again haven't finished yet). That being said I haven't done the SSS DLC (but I believe the recommended level is 16 for this) nor the Forgotten Sanctum (recommended level 18). My guess is you could push it to 30 percent pretty easily, but going higher might start to stretch it. If someone who completed all quests and tasks can give you their experience total (if it keeps count after level 20 still), I am sure you can do the math and figure out the correct percentage you want pretty easily. Though that being said it was nice when I hit level 19 to finally get to use the higher tier spells, so I am looking forward to the DLCs and last section of the game at full power. I don't think I would go as high myself as 30 percent for a reduction, but 25 worked nice (it might be 27 I forget), and might even drop it to 20 for my next play through. The experience mod kept a lot of fights interesting and made me appreciate the easier fights I am also a non-rester as much as possible and like to get through areas / Dungeons / Quests in a single go (which I couldn't do with Beast of Winter for the record but it was close!!) so there is that too, often my take on difficulty isn't the norm.

Here was an interesting thread where @Phenomenum was working on a mod: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/102435-armor-penetration-is-a-pain-in-the-ass-stacking-armor-is-op/page-3 I found when I tried an earlier version where he scaled the damage for PEN made the game a lot easier. I like the idea of potentially boosting the PEN for some weapon mods maybe perhaps just the two-handed ones, but then would potentially reduce the damage for over penetration only to strike some sort of balance?? It's strange but I play on PoTD and never have a problem with PEN when playing a whole party. So you might want to ask are you playing PoTD solo or with a party? It seems to me like you are looking to reduce the impact of over PEN - but remember it will affect you and enemies - which most likely will make it a little more of a grind. It also makes armor buffs less valuable. To me the PEN system is the most realistic implementation of what armor would actually do - except in the cases of magic. I would prefer a more scaling damage system for magic where resistance and reflex, fortitude etc affect damage and hits - though you can make an argument how armor could affect magic penetration I guess.

Another question - after talk with conversation with Eothas - you get part of your soul back, but no powers back from POE? I didn't investigate too much, but checked my stats and didn't get my Council of Stars boon back from POE1 ... nor any new power I don't believe. Does getting your soul back give you anything? Sorry if I am like the 100th person asking this

@Gromnir - well bad writing can be many things, but one thing it isn't is good How's that for ambiguous? No, you are correct, let me rephrase that, most bad American films are the ones lacking, of course there are many great films - the ending of Inception drove me crazy, but I enjoyed that film greatly. I did say most American films, and there are so few really good ones in a year, I think my statement can stand, maybe? But - a lot of the films you mentioned do fall into the standard film format definitely (except maybe the horror films): heroic redemption, love story, you can add anti-hero if you want to get specific, but what those films did good is not beat you over the head with it, and often turned it on its nose. No Country For Old Men - the hero cop does the most heroic thing - walks away so he can live to tell the tale (just one example). We can disagree about Anime - the ones you mentioned I don't watch - Spirited Away is more like Disney than even Disney wants to admit. But honest, a film like Ghost in the Shell has the hero elements etc but its true genius lives in the ambiguity of the main characters humanity - and as she moves deeper and deeper into the "net," how she slowly begins to question her reality - say want you want but that was pretty groundbreaking for the time - though you could easily trace the influence to Phillip K **** and Asimov. As for Akira, it is just visually amazing, but the story is so complicated (convoluted if you must) I brought it up just as a point to show that Hollywood trying to fit it into a film ... well good luck with that. I didn't see Battle Angel Alita yet, but I am guessing they somewhat tortured that film with overtly romantic gestures and moments of heroism that would make John Wayne jealous.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here ... I think most American film shies away from ambiguity - it needs everything to resolve itself in some form as @bugarup described above. I have been noticing this especially with the Anime classics being made into movies ... Ghost in the Shell for example - its like the American film version couldn't get past the heroic / love story tale to get into the gritty philosophy of existence and the ambiguity of the ending that made the anime feel like something experienced not told. It's almost like they took only the parts of the story that fit into their happy ending mold, and unfortunately discarded the parts that made Ghost in the Shell great. I would hate if they tried to make a movie from Akira - it would end up being cast with the Rock (fyi I really like the Rock for some reason so not making fun of the guy), and turn into a movie about a motorcycle gang member finding love and redeeming himself by saving Tokyo. Edit: Not sure I blame Disney for all this though ...

don't know why people have such gripes against disney, honestly. Probably because of the Euro Disney debacle, and because they killed Bambi's mom the heartless cads ... I am sure it has nothing to do with them censoring many classic stories. I was going to post above but don't have a lot of proof and not sure it matters, but I think of Disney as having cult classic status in the US. Most people ignore it, but those that love it really subscribe to it all.
