  1. It has the actiony cinematic feel of Jade Empire with the science fiction ambiance of KotOR. I hope that helps clarifies things. What was wrong with Jade Empire? It was far superior than KotOR.
  2. Abstinence is the only surefire 100% method of prevent unwanted pregnancy.
  3. What? That store had gaming books, computer games, anime, comics, and tons of music for sell. It had vintage material that were in mint condition like Ultima 4 still in its shrink wrap and the Tank Girl RPG. Yeah, I know.
  4. Should health care be a private business? Gorgon makes a good point that for the public good we have government agencies such as police forces and fire departments, why not place healthcare and emergency servies in the catagory? Would you be in favor of privatizing a police force or fire fighters, Guard Dog? Public safety and well being falls in perview of police and fire fighting personal. Should we not include medical doctors, nurses, and paramedics in the same catagory as public servants for the greater good?
  5. My views are always inappropriate. People here should know that by now. I do have to say the two positive things about my stint in the Navy was when I visited Hong Kong and Australia. That one gaming store I went to in Sydney was heaven.
  6. No offense taken, Walsh, and you are right. I am a bit of a loner. When I was given tasks that I could do by myself I get them done very efficiently and accurately, but as soonas I had to work with others things tended to degrade. Hell, even when we got into port for shore leave I went off alone while whole groups got together and went bar hopping, which is a task I loathe. I like being alone.
  7. The rest of your computer probably can pick up the slack if you have a good enough system otherwise.
  8. Hey, a xenomorph that used Grobnar as a host could be interesting.
  9. Okay you two, don't make me bring out the super sledge. Grrr... And Kaftan, I am so jealous. Grrr...
  10. Ah, well, if you liked Bioware's past games, especially KotOR and Jade Empire, then get Mass Effect for the PC. It may sound strange but I plan on getting the PC version even though I already have the 360 version. Yeah, I'm a shameless fanboy. In case you are wondering here are the minimum and recommended technical specifications for the game:
  11. It is a well written and smart science fiction CRPG done in cinematic styling with top notch voice acting. It has the right balance of story, action, and technical capability that easily makes it one of the best games I have played and is Bioware's best game yet. Also it has a few twists and turns that actually surprised me, which I won't post here due to spoilers. The drawbacks are texture popping, a limitation due to the use of the Unreal 3 engine combined with the XBox 360's hardware, and the Uncharted Worlds tend to be a bit sparse and samey. Another drawback is the Simon Says minigame when using the Decryption and Electronic skills. The first drawback should be taken care of with the PC version, hopefully, and the latter is being worked on through DLCs and hopefully ME2 will have more fully fleshed out uncarted worlds to visit. The use of electronics and decryption has been completely changed with a new GUI for the PC. To break it down into points... Graphics: 17 Voice Acting: 19 Music: 19 Story: 18 Gameplay: 19 Overall Grade: 92% (A-) If you are unsure, its definitely worth renting if you have an XBox 360.
  12. I see Dihydrogen Oxide poisoning in either case.
  13. I actually was a part of a group that RPed in NWN1 with full DM control and adventuring. It was quite fun. I had to bow out of it because my PnP moved to that day of the week. It was the most fun I had with that game. Far more entertaining than the OCs were.
  14. Ah, Volourn is being Volourn again. If you judge NWN1 and its expansions solely on its technical aspects and post release support, Volourn's assertion on NWN1 would be accurate, but one needs to also take in account the stories woven in its OCs, which were, to put it mildly, severely lacking in quality compared to their work in Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Jade Empire, KotOR 1, and Mass Effect (their best game, period). 1) Mass Effect 2) Baldur's Gate 1 3) Baldur's Gate 2 4) Jade Empire 5) KotOR 1 6) NWN 1
  15. Well, I hope he does, Tigger. I nearly got a Section 8 for my troubles in the Navy.
  16. Its only a solid resume addition if you stay sane. It takes a certain mindset to be in the military. One has to take orders even if the orders are stupid, one has to act like he has a stick up his rear and follow regulations when they make no freakin' sense, one hase to keep his mouth shut when he sees an idiot in a higher paygrade do something stupid that could get people killed. Sarcasm wasn't too appreciated aboard my ship. There was such a high level of bullcrap going on that I just couldn't stand it. Joining the military is a mistake and not worth the frustration. Calax, just watch out for boot Ensigns who have an overly abundant sense of self-importance and delusions of grandeur.
  17. A perfect score means a perfect game. Since there is no such thing as a perfect game then no game deserves a perfect score. If 10 is the highest score one can achieve then it is the perfect, best score achievable.
  18. Ok, as a teacher, that's absolutely ridiculous. Students and parents would lynch me if I had that mentality, and rightly so. If a student turns in a great essay with minimal errors, they get a perfect score. Again, why have the number 10 if it's never used? Wait, what? What do you mean by minimal errors? How can you give a perfect score to a student that makes mistakes in his work? I was wondering about that. I wish I had teachers like that when I was in school. I would have a much higher GPA. HA!
  19. As long as the education is unbiased and without a hidden agenda, it would be a subsection on teaching human physiology in a biology course. I don't get this whole burden on society thing however. If kids have sex and get themselves pregnant and/or diseased then let them pay for the consequences of their actions. One thing we need to change is the welfare system. There shouldn't be one.
  20. People are responsible for their own actions, their own health, and their own lives. No more and no less. Getting the US government involved in the personal dealings of its citizens is a slippery slope. Why stop at disease? Why not go a step further in order to maintain "safety?" A well intention tyranny is still tyranny.
  21. You need to give Mass Effect a try.
  22. I live in the US. Let Africa sort out their problems and let the us sort out ours.
  23. I will be getting GTA4 on Tuesday. One Wednesday I'll post up my thoughts of the game.
  24. If someone has unprotected sex with someone who has a STD then they get what they deserve. They got no one to blame but themselves. A bit of personal responsibility goes a long ways.
  25. You have my sympathies, Calax. You seem to not been told what the Navy means. Never Again Volunteer Yourself. Joining the military is a big mistake.
