  1. Why specifically to kill? Is killing more effective than incapacitation? Less litigation. If someone breaks into your home and you shoot but not kill they can sue you for damages and more than likely win. If they are dead, well, they can't sue you. At least that is how it works in Iowa.
  2. It depends on the range in which it punctures and the caliber of the bullet. A 9mm at close range, 5 to 15 feet, will punch through the other side of the body and keep going. A .22 at the same range will probably richocet in the body causing greater internal damage. A .50 cal bullet at close range would go through and keep going a long ways while tear up the body a great deal while a 9mm at long range would probably act like a .22 at short range.
  3. If someone breaks into my house and I have a gun, I shoot to kill.
  4. I usually give a company three tries before ditching them. KotOR 2 was questionable, but NWN2 was a solid game, in my ever so humble opinion, so the counter has reset.
  5. I have to agree. There is no point in firing a gun if you aren't sure you have a decent chance of hitting the target. I rather get a precise shot to the head off than a glancing shot to the shoulder or as Eddo said, miss completely and accidently shoot an innocent outside. Wel, glass easier to break through than drywall. Shoot, hit a window, it shatters and the bullet keeps going.
  6. True enough, but he often stated that he would go through such an operation if it allowed him to see. Can't blame him.
  7. Television series... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars_live-action_TV_series
  8. Well, I hope they made some progress on it. I have a friend who could use a system like that. He has a degenerative optic nerves in both eyes which is causing his blindness. His eyes work perfectly, they just can get any information to the brain.
  9. I really can't decide which version of HK is better. they way he is depicted in KotOR 1 or KotOR 2. The passivity upgrade (is that what it is called) was hilarious.
  10. Nice link, Alan. Such a device would be great boon for those who suffer from blindness.
  11. Gotta love the immaturity in the world.
  12. I think we have different definitions of what is fun, Volourn. I find a game that adheres to the rules system and setting that has been long established more fun than a game that tries to use the setting but uses a totally different rules set or try to fit a different genre. I like consistency and I find consistency in a game series more fun than inconsistancy.
  13. I think that love is a little too strong of a word, Volourn. Fallout needs to be Fallout, plain and simple. If Bethesda applies their usual design style as seen in the Elder Scrolls games it will not be Fallout. My expectations out of an Elder Scrolls game is completely and totally different from what I expect out of a Fallout game.
  14. Yes, but that is just one detail out of thousands that needs to be right. No wookie deathclaws. We don't need someone to come up with the "Goris" defense.
  15. Close enough, Volourn. Its only Herve and his touchy feely rats.
  16. I was refering to Interplay, Alan. I thought that was pretty clear. They are the ones who made and hold the licenses to FO1, FO2, FOT, and FOPOS, as well as their designers at the time stated that FOT and FOPOS were alternate versions of the setting and not to be considered canon.
  17. I like Kreia and Jolee. Both are well written characters, though for overall likability I have to go with the Handmaiden.
  18. Speaking of which, Vista has marked NWN2 as a Mature rated game.
  19. The owner of the IP is a dead company and what Herve Caen says is irrelevant.
  20. A good way to beat obesity is to have a more active life and exercise but it seems nowadays recess is discouraged at the grade schools of many states.
  21. If people want to have sex for godsakes man, let them have sex. If it is done safely and through the use of contraceptives where is the harm?
  22. Why should I care about what people say at Amazon? I bought the game. I have played the game. I like the game. I like the UI. I like the campaign. I like artwork and gr4aphics. I like the music. I like the gameplay. Nothing you can say will change my opinion on NWN2.
  23. Been there, done that. It was okay but NWN2 OC was better. HotU was way too over powered for my tastes and the implementation of epic levels were a very bad idea.
