Same. The Witcher features a hero that doesn't have to worry about disease or kids and has women throwing themselves at him. That's not a mature take on sex, it's the fantasy of the typical hetero teenage boy. If you claim to be offering up a mature product, expect to be called out when you deliver an adolescent power fantasy. The Sims features a more mature take on sex and relationships.

what Look at any cartoon or movie that are aimed at young children : slapstick is a big component of the humor. It's something universal and not limited to Australia or the US though. That "what" was aimed at the "I still don't understand why is sex prohibited for children" bit of that post.

what None of this is right, but I can't be bothered explaining why because something tells me it'll be a waste of time.

Yeah Project S, and people (like me) assumed/hoped the S stood for Snatcher. I vaguely recall reading a story recently about a project he was working on that definitely wasn't Snatcher and assuming it was Project S.

Not really. For whatever reason the developers/publishers of Risen decided against releasing a modified version, which is what most everyone else does when their game gets an RC. If the content is vital and cannot be removed without ruining the game as a whole then fair enough, but having played Risen uncensored I can say that isn't the case. Maybe they decided to take a stand, maybe they just didn't care and figured people could buy it online. If CDP refused to alter this part of The Witcher 2, then it too would have to be Refused Classification. It's not stupid for the OFLC to rate games according to their rules, what's stupid is we still don't have an R18+ rating.

? "I don't remember why it's retarded, but it totally is." I don't think it's sex so much as prositution. Prostitution and drug use being shown in a positive light or some such nonsense. It's why Fallout 3 renamed morphine, because showing a real world drug having a positive effect (healing you) is bad, if the drug has a fictional name it's apparently okay. Also, this only applies to gaming.

I'd love a remake of the MSX Metal Gear games (MG2 on NES is not the real MG2) with MGS4 gameplay. Hell, I'd love a remake of MGS1/2/3 in the MGS4 engine, though I'd totally settle for a HD update like that upcoming Splinter Cell collection. Anyway, Kojima is apparently working on something original although for a while it was thought to be a new Snatcher, which would have been awesome. You can never have too many cyberpunk games.

No surprise. My copy is coming straight from GOG.

It amuses that that people who use terms like "enhanced interrogation" and "targeted killing" are the ones most likely to have a problem with political correctness. But then I also enjoy military circle jerk blockbusters. So conflicted.

Yeah, it was a bad demo. Reminded me of Hitman: Blood Money, a game with non-linear levels and multiple ways to complete objectives, but for the demo they used the linear, hand-holding tutorial. I bought both games anyway, convinced the demos weren't a good representation of the final game, and in both cases I wasn't disappointed. No. DA2 got as many user reviews in 2 weeks as it took ME2 to get in 2 years. Why? Butthurt fanboys. That's not to say there weren't any legit negative reviews, just that they get drowned out by the crybabies.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced
Hell Kitty replied to CoM_Solaufein's topic in Computer and Console
I used a mod for Oblivion that removed the walls, so I don't see why it'd be any different for Skyrim. Of course it's not as simple as just removing the walls, the mod made it so there were two versions of the city, the shiny new version which was now part of the overall world map, and the original walled in version which was broken and innaccesable. -
I have set myself on a media blackout about The Witcher 2 for a long time, so I don't think I ever saw the video you're talking about. Sorry! Heh, it's the first link in my reply to Tigranes. Both male and female victims have been whipped, the only way it makes sense in context for the female to be topless is if in the world of The Witcher dresses offer protection against whipping that shirts do not, despite the dress covering less skin than the shirt. Perhaps the dress is made from adamantium?
-
If her being tortured in this way is of some relevance, perhaps. Of course you may have noticed the male prisoner in the Triss version of the story has also been whipped (and seems to be in worse shape than the woman, he can't walk without Geralt's aid), yet he still has a shirt on.
-
No, as the video here shows, the dwarf version of the story features a topless woman (the modified, more realistic version) while the Triss version features a male prisoner. Anyway, here is what senior producer of The Witcher 2 Tom Gop had to say: While there is nothing wrong with the woman being topless, her being topless doesn't equal a mature depiction of events. There is a mission in Red Dead Redemption where you must rescue a kidnapped woman from a hanging. When you get to her, she's beaten and bruised and her clothes are torn, she's clearly suffered at the hands of her captors. Would it have added anything to the scene to have her breasts exposed? Other than exposed breasts I mean. The way I see it, although the devs want to create a dark, gritty, mature world, they also want to make medieval James Bond and the depiction of sex in James Bond is not mature, it's adolescent power fantasy. But then the makers of the James Bond movies don't go on about what a mature film they are making.
-
Well that's one way of putting it. In the original footage the woman with the big fake pornstar boobs asks Geralt to turn around so she can cover herself despite the fact that she was just standing topless in front of him without a care in the world, but then the real reason she asks him to turn around is so the game can swap out the topless model with the clothed model. In the footage altered as a result of RPS gear throwing, the woman covers her more natural looking breasts after Geralt releases her before telling him to turn around.

No it wouldn't have. With fully supported mod tools - easily. But why give mod tools when you can sell low quality crap instead Horse armour says otherwise, and that was five years ago. The existence of mod tools doesn't stop developers selling DLC.

No it wouldn't have.

You're gonna die?

I just checked then and it isn't working for me either. I can access Live just fine on the actual 360 though.

When it comes to cutscenes I prefer something like Deus Ex where outside of beginning/ending cinematics and multiple choice conversations there are no cutscenes, or something like Thief where cutscenes occur between missions and never interrupt actual gameplay. The type of cutscene I hate most is the one that interrupts the action to show you a cool new monster coming to attack you. Resident Evil 5 does it, but at least it never leaves you in a bad position once the cutscene is over. Alan Wake however is the worst in this regard. Why would I want to fight that possessed bulldozer thingy that has just appeared when I can instead watch that piece of machinery moving closer to my character who is standing still like an idiot because I've lost control of him so you can show me this cool cutscene?
-
I always wondered what the hell people were doing that they had such a problem with her. In my three playthroughs I had no problems. As for cutscenes, I prefer actual cutscenes I can skip to the you-are-the-cameraman-sometimes-interactive-always-unskipabble-"cutscenes".

You should totally buy that pack.

Is it too much to hope this thread would deliver new information regarding the World of Darkness MMO? Yes, apparently it is.
