  1. Stop lying, you love it.
  2. Something I don't understand about those two shots, why do we get descriptions of the characters in their dialogue windows? Do we automatically know the life story of every NPC we talk to?
  3. What's TOR? I think "stylized" is far too broad a term. CG mentioned stylized images having a place in comics, but the truth is that comics, like games, feature many different styles. These images of Wolverine, for example, aren't in the same style: I tend to view graphics on a scale from "cartoonish" to "photo realistic" and even that is perhaps too simplistic. I personally prefer those on the realistic end of the scale. The problem with a game like AoD it that it's right in the middle of the scale, it's lacking in any real style. Like I said in the previous post, purely functional.
  4. Kinda reminds me of that Warhammer 40K FPS, Fire Warrior. My knowledge of the Warhammer world was limited to old White Dwarf magazines, but before this game I didn't know or care about the Tau. And I still don't care.
  5. One review I saw described it as a racing game, and with that in mind I don't think stealth would really make any sense. I love the bright, clean look of the game, and it shows how ridiculous claims that all UE3 games look the same really are. I remember the devs saying that this game would redefine how we see first person gaming, and while it certainly didn't do that I really enjoyed jumping and climbing around the game world. Made me want a Thief game with a younger, more agile protagonist. Of course I'm not the first to say that and fanbois are quick to whine like babies and say "omg go play something else". I'd love a new Thief that features gameplay exactly the same as the originals, but I'm not against doing something new. Given the popularity of the "thieves highway", it surprises me how against this people are. The player never needed to think too hard, as puzzle games go, it was really easy. I know, because I'm terrible at puzzle games but didn't have a problem with any of it*. I guess you could call it a stripped down puzzle game... Honestly though, I think calling these games "stripped down" doesn't do either of them any justice. *In fact I completed it while benching pressing a thousand pounds and having sex with a women. Also, I made this post while drunk.
  6. Yeah, I'm kinda confused what people are arguing here. If people think AoD is stylized, then just what style is it exactly? It seems like people are using "realistic" and "stylized" when perhaps they might actually mean "photo realistic" and "not photo realistic". A low level of detail does not make something stylised. Personally I don't think the graphics in AoD are bad, but I also don't think they are in any way appealing. They're purely functional, which certainly isn't a positive.
  7. He said it was how he pictured me. You'd just trying to steal some of that awesome Maria mojo. I wanna be just like you, I wanna be just the same, I wanna know all your moves, and play all your games.
  8. That avatar looks familiar. I stole it from Morgoth, who recently posted a larger version.
  9. I was going to congratulate alanschu, but clearly his job is now in jeopardy since Mamoulian War tricked him into revealing his secret agenda. Better luck next time!
  10. Gamers like to complain about change almost as much as they like claiming their personal preferences are facts. You should know this by now.
  11. It totally was. edit: I don't really get why people are upset. It was a solid game, but far from classic status. So now emos look like Bruce Willis instead of Tokio Hotel? Great, the world really deserves to burn now. This post is too emo. Says the "guy" with the Big Boss avatar. You've totally ruined the immersion now. Good job.

  13. What is it? That Hired Guns game?
  14. Looks too emo.
  15. Arguing what is and isn't immersive is as useful as arguing what is and isn't fun. Anyway, currently playing The Sims 3, which is most fun and immersive game in the history of the universe. Everyone should read this: Alice & Kev: The story of being homeless in The Sims 3
  16. I don't think the dialogue is real. This actually made me laugh out loud. All the cats I've ever had have mostly been outside cats. They bury their own poop. Which is of course why cats are better than dogs. I like dogs, but they need constant attention, and that's not something I'm willing to give. I think it's cruel when people get a dog and then just leave it in the back yard for the rest of it's life.
  17. ^ That's not heartburn, you just aren't very good at eating bacon.
  18. On a controller? It'd be a waste of a button to dedicate it solely to a quicksave function. Probably depends on which SC. DA on the 360 allows you to save anywhere, whereas I think the original had save anywhere on PC and checkpoints on Xbox. While I don't like the idea of having to repeat things over and over because of a difficult spot right before the next checkpoint, the reality is that checkpoints haven't proven an issue for me in the majority of games with them, and as such it's not something I can get my knickers in a twist over. I actually like the save system in Hitman: Blood Money. You could save anywhere, but you only had a limited amounts of saves, with the higher the difficulty level the fewer the saves.
  19. Why on earth do you think I'm trying to make you feel bad? I just wanted an answer to something you hadn't yet addressed. I'm fine with life in prison. You've posted two articles you claim support the death penalty. If you believe the death penalty is barbaric, or you feel that any innocents that fall victim to it are unacceptable loses, then individual cases like this aren't going to suddenly change your mind. As such, the only thing these stories do is justify the death penalty in the minds of those that already believe in it.
  20. Yeah, we've already seen it in a video with Mike talking to Sie.
  21. Except he's arguing that the death penalty is cheaper. You may be interested in the philosophy, but wake up to the real world. The real world? First you argue that the existence of criminals who commit terrible crimes supports the death penalty given there is little doubt of their guilt, which doesn't make sense given the law finds you guilty, rather than probably guilty or definitely guilty. Now you're arguing that it's cheaper to kill rather than imprison, but that's only true if the "take 'em round the back and put a bullet in their brain right after being declared guilty" method is used. Not to mention the rather naive view that money saved by executions would instead go to victims and/or their families and others who "richly deserve them". None of this changes that problem with the death penalty that others have already mentioned, that sometimes innocent people will slip through the cracks and be executed for crimes they didn't commit. I take it you think these people are acceptable loses?
  22. So is St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City or is it in Central London? It's like they aren't even trying.
  23. So Conviction is due out in just a few weeks? Something tells me the release date on Gametrailers is wrong.
  24. So you're saying money should play a part in the punishment given?
  25. Possibly. Alternatively it discourages people from talking about it, and thus discourages people from asking for help. The problem is that when a person is suicidal, they're at their lowest point. Whatever their problems are, they no longer feel capable of dealing with them, and the emotions they are experiencing are so strong they no longer feel capable of living with them. When society labels those individuals who commit suicide as cowards then society is simply agreeing with the negative view such individuals have of themselves. "I can no longer cope, I am a coward." "Yes, you are a coward, a selfish coward."
