  1. Which actor/comedian is that? I think I recognize the person but can't place the name.
  2. If that truly is from the UN, it's not good for the UN. However, the video doesn't even show the names of the people speaking OR source where the video is from, so, it's either not from the UN or it's heavily edited a la o'keefe.
  3. I think katphood and redneckdevil were being facetus/sarcastic there. Also, when I saw the bit about 'it's not a civil war, it's all of Syria against outsider mercenaries and terrorists', I thought "does that make most of Aleppo and it's citizens outsider mercenaries and terrorists too?" I saw it as BS right from the start. Also, go to youtube and look at the source, they have stuff like "Hillary Helps Trump To Hunt Down Obama Over Drug Bust As He Goes Into Hiding ".
  4. Personally, I'm against the militarizaton of space as in sending troops up, but even I have to admit that it'll happen eventually at some point. Besides, we technically already have since many of our pioneering astronauts were drawn from the ranks of Air Force test pilots Also, it's not much more than a new beuraucratic division atm and technically the Air Force already has a space division (which is why they're against it I think, plus probably thinking 'we control everything above the atmosphere too!'). It'll be a long time before we see actual space marines duke it out on some space (or moon or other planet) battlefield. I half expected the marine to say 'thanks sir" and "don't worry about it sir". But what do I know, I'm only a civvie. I suppose their philosophy is to avoid a dogfight in the first place?
  5. Fine, I'll retract the question asking about the map. I'll leave the question whether Ondras Mortar will be visitable ingame (if it's in range) as it sounds like an interesting place.
  6. Bouncing off of the question on Josh's tumblr about climate in the Deadfire: https://jesawyer.tumblr.com/post/162752615191/hey-josh-i-had-a-question-about-the-climate-of Do you guys have a full map/atlas of Eora? and could you share it with the community? This has already been asked and answered apparently, so, use the next question. Also, the Ondra's Mortar place sounds like something that you wouldn't want to take a ship through/near unless you either had really good navigation or had a really good reason to be there. I'm picturing it full of rocky shoals and coasts maybe. Perhaps there are lots of storms and hurricanes/cyclones/typhoons there as well. editwhiletyping: Will we be able to visit Ondras Mortar ingame (assuming it's in range)? Sounds like an interesting place.
  7. Question about climate on Josh's tumblr. The Ondra's Mortar place sounds like a nasty place for a ship to be, full of rocky shoals and coasts maybe. Perhaps there are lots of storms and hurricanes/cyclones/typhoons there as well.
  8. It wouldn't be the best place or time to discuss the meddling in full, true, since it'd be a more drawn out discussion and it's the first face to face meeting, but Trump appears to have straight up accepted Putins denial (and of course they're going to deny).
  9. His stance on climate change was to be expected .....I don't follow the debate but it is incongruous to be the only member country that has a leader who disputes the science However some of his supporters do indeed dismiss the reasons for global warming so you could see this as Trump sticking to a campaign promise? http://edition.cnn.com/2017/07/08/europe/g20-merkel-trump-communique/index.html He's referring to the whole capitulating to Putin and not standing up to Putin over the election meddling. Trump is an embarrassment to America in general
  10. That would actually be a pretty good question for the Deadfire Q&A twitch stream on the 12th. The most obvious way it would be handled is to exclude combinations which would have conflicting favored and disfavored behaviors. The personality type thing is supposed to have gotten an overhaul in Deadfire, so, it might work differently, I don't know. Looking at the combinations, at least with the way it is in PoE1 Goldpact knights: Eothas Berath Skaen Darcozzi: Eothas Wael Kind Wayfarers: Eothas Bleak Walkers: Magran Wael St. Elgica: Eothas Berath Priests of Eothas have some options, but Kind Wayfarers really get shafted, as do priests of Skaen, but that's with the setup of disfavored/favored traits in PoE1. edit: Just realized that Priests of Magran get shafted too. I guess an alternative and compromise solution would be to have conflicting favored/disfavored cancel each other out. edit2: There is also a REALLY good likelyhood that the devs are aware of it already because they'd have to make sure that multiclassing as priest/paladin actually works correctly.
  11. Are the sidekicks (such as Ydwin) still in? We haven't heard or seen anything about them since, well, Ydwin was attempted as a bait to get the funding for the 8th companion. For the record, I'm not one of those Ydwin-is-anime fans or Ywdin megafans, just using her as an example as she's one of the better known sidekicks.
  12. I suppose the sidekicks might be employable as crew members, or to help keep a healer safe. TBH, kind of hard to see the sidekicks having any real function, other than to attract the backers or appease those that want bigger parties. We haven't seen or heard anything about the sidekicks since the last bit about Ydwin, so, it's possible that feature got cut? Things get cut all the time in game development for various reasons.
  13. I think his point is to experience the whole game with that particular companion, especially now that inter-companion relationships will deveop. Most of us are probably going to run with Eder, Pallegina, and Aloth for the first run while switching out the fourth companion as needed/desired, and then for the second run, do those other companions. I suspect that wanting to play with the three returning companions each time is part of why some are complaining or don't like the lowered party size.
  14. Well, Boeroer's quote of Josh Sawyer has him calling it a hand mortar. So, it's AoE as I thought it was. Also, from the pictures on the wiki page, hand mortars were a pretty diverse bunch, from ones with a short barrel to ones that could be mistaken for a blunderbuss or an arquebus.
  15. Oh weapon class, I thought you meant character class. Hand mortars are pretty much what you'd expect out of a primitive grenade launcher. I suppose the class name would just be hand mortar, nothing fancy.
  16. The only people who know the answer to that are the devs. Maybe Rogue or Barbarian will have something based on firearms, given Serafen's base class options. Unless you've read or heard something somewhere about it that I don't know of.
  17. I've seen a couple of solos, including rogue and wizard. I am amazed at any of the solo games and gamers. I am not that good. Joe ETA: I will jump for joy if the reason is to help with load times! I seriously doubt that reducing the party size to 5 has any significant affect on load time. You could easily test that by only having four companions rather than five in the party.
  18. Your english is fine. We already know that if the character dies at any point (including Aloths suicide ending and the blood pool thing), they won't appear. However, for plain never meeting/joining, the ending slides do have a condition that you have to have had recruited that character at least once. So, the conditions might be there. She may still show up, she just wouldn't recognize you. Still though, your question is also valid for starting a new game from scratch rather than an imported one from PoE, so, it's a good question.
  19. I wonder how they'll retcon mortars not showing up in PoE1.... Not sure which ability FoD is, can't seem to find it. Edit: Oh, you mean http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Flames_of_Devotion , but that's Paladin, and so, you'd mean a cipher/paladin multiclass. Also, that's a melee ability, not ranged. In PoE1 it is anyway. edit2: I'm overthinking it here, heh. Not sure which cipher abilities are full-action, going to look. This: http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Recall_Agony ? It's not full action in the way FoD is, actually, there doesn't seem to be any that are like FoD. Or I'm misunderstanding full-action as it applies to cipher.
  20. I'm not aware of there being one new gun type weapon. Though the gun types could use a new one, and it could be explained off as being a relatively new development in the Deadfire that hasn't spread beyond the Deadfire and wasn't available five years prior. To be fair though, adding new types would just mean more work for the devs and if they add one new type, they'd have to add at least two more (if it was melee) types to balance it out in the other two weapon speeds.
  21. Be glad it isn't four, as that's how many there are in Tyranny. Though to be fair, there are also fewer companions in Tyranny. I guess the main sticking point for people here for Deadfire is that there is going to be three returning companions, and so, people will want to play with those three, at least initially.
  22. The 'incrementially learning about the environment' sounds like it would work if Deadfire had skill xp like the way Tyranny does (not the only example, just an example), but PoE1 doesn't have that and PoE2Deadfire definetly won't have that. Being able to take advantage of the environment however, does make sense for Ranger because two of the archetypes are scout and hunter. It's just a case of 'how do you implement that in the PoE system'. Did we ever find out what they were doing with the Survival skill? I know something was mentioned about redesigning it completely or even scrapping it.
  23. I wonder how a ranged Barbarian would work though, like MORE DAKKA or something.... The dual weilding the pistols is definetly of help and a ranged barbarian is going to want to take talents/skills that reduce weapon switchout time. Also, given the variety of terrain and weather conditions that Deadfire is supposed to have and the player is going to be in, specializing to specific weather conditions or terrain types doesn't seem like a great idea because then players will want to try and maximize the amount of specialization skills.
  24. Are all those "X Strike" abilities works with ranged weapons? Yes. Backstab works with melee weapons too, but you have to be within 2 meters of your target. I think you meant ranged there, and needing to be within 2 meters kind of nullifies the point of ranged.
