  1. Thanks anyways. Real quick just want to clarify that critical hits are separate from penetration ie I can penetrate without a critical or could I potentially critical without a penetration?
  2. Oh yes. Aromantic is the term for folks who aren't interested in romance. Asexuals just aren't interested in the sex part. I know absolutely nothing about what you are talking about But I am going to ask questions to learn more. That's not falling on a LGBTQ spectrum is it? Like I would be straight but only interested in sex. Or homosexual but only interested in romance. That's not my sexuality it's more like a behavioral choice? Like just to me it seems like aromantic is code for someone with a form of sex addiction. And if not how would you distinguish between sex addiction and aromantic?
  3. Thanks for the answers! One more quick questions: How does Aegis of Loyalty work exactly?
  4. So say does Unflinching and say Divine Purpose stack?
  5. Hilarious. I think you mean <king cailan>GLORIOUS!</king cailan> My problem with player sexual companions is that it means the character has no real character of their own; their personality and interests are sublimated to those of the PC. I'd rather a bisexual companion be bisexual because that's who they are, not because the player wants to sexxor them and happens to be one gender or another. That to my mind is treating the relationship as a reward to the player rather than a character based story arc that the player and the NPC are both a part of. YMMV, but I think it should be okay for the NPC to reject the player, and for the player to pursue a romantic relationship that is ill-advised (and will end badly). The reward is the alternate character based content, not sex at the end of a dialogue string. I think there is plenty of value to the traditional Bioware "model" but I also think Bioware demonstrated the incredible value of stepping away from that model and following an alternative path like the one that you described. *Spoiler Warning* DA:I Solas romance is set for up for failure and it makes the game significantly better. I played as a guy so the Solas romance was not on the table and I thought the character was fairly annoying. Years later I played through the game again with all of the DLC. I had read that the Trespasser DLC was way better if you romanced Solas so I tried that route. The confrontation with Solas at the end possessed, by far, the most emotional "umph" of any experience I've ever had with a Bioware game to date (though admittedly the scene was aided by a superior background score, the music was excellent in that game). There was no sex, no fade to black, or staring off into the sunset. Just two character that clearly cared for each other but whose diametrically opposed points of view doomed them to tragedy. It wasn't happy it was ****ing sad. Each retained their agency and their characterization but the romance between them is what created the power of the scene. I see nothing wrong with giving the player an option to marry Cullen and settle down with a puppy. It's great that players have that option. The scene with Bull and your advisers? Comedy gold. There is great entertainment to be had with the traditional Bioware model. But I'll admit I was left very underwhelmed by the ending of the base game. The conclusion to Trespasser is right up there in the HoF of endings along with games like The Last of Us. And breaking away from the traditional model is the only way that became possible.
  6. Cassandra isn't funny? She is probably one of the funniest character in the entire game.
  7. I too remember they said they would look into it - apprently they didn't have the time/couldn't figure out of how to do it properly. Josh has said that they will look into it after launch. Nice. That's definitely a free feature I would added when the first DLC drops.
  8. Jesus this thread. I read like two pages after 20 and I was overwhelmed with the stupid. The idea that including a diverse cast of characters means you are advancing some heinous homosexual agenda or displaying homosexuals in a less than positive light means they are homophobic is bonkers to me. Everyone needs to stop getting their panties in a wad.
  9. The other portrait wasn't a good watercolor material. That one is excellent. Well done.
  10. With this system, a mage of level 5 will be able to cast "50 bounding missiles" or "50 fireballs" by day !!... It's ridiculous. I understand that Obsidian love the bioware fans (they're numerou$$$...), but as for me, I just sent an email to GOG to cancel my pre-order. Seems like an absolutely bizarre overreaction to me. But hey your money.
  11. That last cloak looks awesome. Man, I am starting to get really hyped. PoE1 was a good game and I obviously liked it enough to back it, get the beta, and the season pass but it's not something I would have put into the HoF of RPG's. Fingers crossed that this one gets in after a solid couple of months of patching.
  12. I feel l this is such an excellent way to make use of the boat as a operation for your home base. I am really starting to respect some of these design decisions. And the talking sword? I can already tell it will be a classic. Love it.
  13. I'll be playing around 2am in the morning. Already got off work. Probably won't really get the chance to sink my teeth into it outside of Tuesday for a couple of weeks unfortunately.
  14. I plan on multi classing for my main. I think all of the companions will be single except Pellagina because I really want to try my Herald heal/tank out.
  15. Maybe you could start as another paladin subclass and just use the console to add and remove the relevant abilities. Bleak walkers get a unique FoD right? Use the console to add that to your char and remove the standard version. Sort of an ugly hack but it might work. Thanks for the idea. Thank you.
