  1. Don't want to start a war but.. there are still a few other reasons in which consoles hold an unprecedented advantage over pc. 1.) Exclusive titles - Usually better developed than anything we can find on pc (which you already mentioned). 2.) Console ports are vastly superior to pc ports, look at Arkham Knight and Nier Automata, plenty if others as well. Probably because consoles ate still much easier to develop and optimize for. 3.) The wait for larger games such as GTA5, FFXV and Red Dead Redemption 2. PC gaymers are treated with afterthought, by the time they get the games, everyone else has moved on lol 4.) The communities don't die. This has been an issue in fighting games and racing games on pc, the communities always die within a few months. Consoles don't have this issue for whatever reason. 5.) Cool physical collectors editions that pc can't compete against 6.) Proprietary 4k blu-ray players built in 7.) The best controllers that will never work on pc (joystocks, arcade sticks, etc) https://youtu.be/UOvN3iz3eXo 8.) Plug n play/EZ play portability (Switch is the perfect example. Vita and PS4 are another. Pc has a few things but they all suck so kinda pointless to mention them) Probably a few others I'm forgetting but... Those are are good reasons meh
  2. LOL I'm not sure if joking but just in case... I take it you have no experience in the music industry, what you said is comparable to saying a luanchpad specialist/expert is more talented than 12 piece analog drum-kit amateur, there just isn't much reason behind that logic. Though if we lived in a world where backing tracks and anti-talent Trump'd legit talent and the ability to be unplugged then what you said may be true. If use of Loops and track stations equal talent then the earth be flat after all. Break that guys labtop or cut the power at the venue and see how long he will be able to entertain an audience (They'll walk out of the nightclub and into the Ascend Ampithwater where if power is lost the entertainment will still be better). P.S I like Lasgo and Culture Code better
  3. I don't think most people realize that Taylor Swift started out as country artist then moved to pop and dipped her toes in some rock, metal and r&b. The crossraods event was nice to see because she proved that she can headbang with the rest of them. However, getting 5 guys together and playing something with 3 half stacks or full stacks and making it sound good is the easiest thing in the world, where the real test of talent comes is when you strip things down, take all those effects away, and see who can actually perform - all to which Taylor has done exceptional at. Justin Bieber on the other hand uses auto-tune, has lip-synced at least once, and doesn't write his own music. It was strange to see that Taylor's voice and stage presence perfectly fitted in with Def Leppards music but Def Leppard didn't sound all that great covering her songs at the concert. Hmmm... An eye opener to versatility and it's uses with talent of the industry.
  4. Yeah Sony has always done amazing with Jrpg whether console or handhelds like Vita. PC is just now starting to catch up on Jrpg with titles like Dragon Quest but I doubt it will ever catch up to Sony at that end. Plus the ports are better on console usually anyway.
  5. She is... She writes her own music, doesn't lip sync and doesn't cover her crappy guitar skills up with abominable tube/pedal distortion to where her guitar sounds like it hits multiple notes when judt hitting one She actually has talent lol
  6. I'm not sure why you think you're teaching me about the Fallout franchise, everything you're saying I already knew. New Vegas has always been and is still considered the best Fallout game by the vast majority and it's easy to see why. The complex systems and attention to detail were what made it superior to Fallout 1&2. It's true that the older games had more choice if that's where you're getting at but that doesn't mean the choices were as relevant as they were in New Vegas. You forgot to mention Fallout Tactics btw, which was the first time Fallout actually shifted genres. Did everyone go crazy then too? It surely wasn't the greatest tactical rpg game but it wasn't a "Fallout" game by your definition either. So it didn't exactly end at Fallout 2, the again it was never truly established as a one genre type of franchise because of Tactics either. So everything you wrote is not entirely true....
  7. It's free on Steam right now.
  8. I don't know why Microsoft would want to buy a company that makes PRGs... The sad part about not having editors actually edit. Corporations do not think like people. They think like Lovecraftian monstrosities from alien dimensions that they are. "Hey EA Bob, we here bought a RPG-making company that's famous for writing and character interaction. What do you think we should do with it?" "Why EA Chad, set it to make always online shoot'n'looter with no story or character interaction! Obviously, duh!" And yet Anthem already looks somehow better and deeper than the Mass Effect. Ergo they made the right call. Had the Beatles had a 5th member, they would have done rather well.
  9. The death of Obsidian?
  10. Sqaure Enix new game allows you to shoot on-foot or jump into a speed mech with armores core style gameplay. Looks interesting enough
  11. It's pretty much the opposite of PS4 lmao If you don't have one, you miss out on some amazing games that you'll never experience (you can't emulate the exclusives for obvious reasons). So no matter how beefy the pc you build, the PS4 will always win. The sad truth. But pc will always be my main cuz... indies!!!
  12. It's too bad it will never come to pc, it's one of the greatest storytelling games and ot also sports some amazing graphics. We just don't see this alot in games in general (spanning all eras of gaming). The optimization is great because it's Quantics in-house engine which was developed exclusively for PS4. See, PS4 exclusives have the best optimization across any board of games because Sony funds the developer to do so. It's why Sony is leading in games at this point, regardless of genre. This gen has done well for me as a PS4 owner.
  13. I saw Atom and The Wasp tonight and it's probably on my top 3 Marvel movies (which was a high bar already). Needless to say I enjoyed it for the humor, very light kidlike humor which is different from the darker humor I tend to go for in movies but still. I also really liked Wasp and Ghost. Very likable characters.
  14. Lol Eneresting. I've never heard of it which tells me it must've small website? And possibly smaller than Obsidian forums? At least that's my guess.. Sometimes it's hard to remmeber that a few people that keep commenting the same thing over and over often makes an issue appear bigger than what it really is (this thread or Steam forums for example) but in hardly annyone at all though, nor do the common mindset of a forum ever generalize a community as a whole - even if members on a website/forums would like to pretend otherwise. Steam is great because the thing that often happens is that when someone doesn't like something, they'll make multiple threads saying the same thing in different wording. Fortunately, we don't have that problem here.
  15. I'm just grateful that forums don't have any say in the devlopment vision whatsoever. I want a new BG game whether it's a continuation or not, couldn't care less about that. There's things I'd like to see, but even if it turns out the oppisite, I'll still be interested and I'm not gonna whine about it. It's not like they could kill the legacy behind BG 1&2 anyway so, there's really no point in us being negative if the devs want to try something with it. It's as if the nobody here has heard the term "Vote with your wallet" and is trying something more along the lines of "Vote with your comment" Whether people want a new BG or not, they're getting one and whther they want it to be BG3 or not, they're still gonna buy it hehee
  16. I really wish that Microsoft would be smart enough to do 2 exclusives: That dragon one - whatever it was called, it looked amazing like Devil May Cry mixed with Monster Hunter. And... Sunset Overdrive 2. The first game was amazingly well designed, everything about it was great but sadly nobody bought it so lalala whatever. Lalala it doesn't matter.
  17. Hmmm, I don't think you get it... There's a well constructed reason it doesn't make sense to me, as someone else pointed out already in the thread, the very same people complaining about this now played Fallout 3 and New Vegas and didn't complain then. When Bethesda took over the franchise, nobody complained and furthermore, it is the ultimate proof that a genre change, as well as mechanics and perspective change doesn't call for community paranoia. With this experience, you'd figure that people wouldn't be as such lol As far your argument about the Jrpg's I mentioned, you're still not getting it because what you're saying simply isn't true. See, the fact that BG1&2 connect doesn't really exactly "establish" as a conmecting franchise since it's only two games or are we going to say that that's an absolute just because we're trying to make a point that doesn't exist. As for Final Fantasy games as being established as non connecting, that's not entirely true either, Final Fantasy franchise has games that connect as well as games that don't, it weaves in and out of this motion at will which make my point even more valid. There's no guideline which states that an established franchise can't go from connected to disconnected. Anyway, my point wasn't if a certain franchises are established as a connected series, but for the fact that games don't need to be connected for players to enjoy. There may a disconnect but it's something very small and shallow to get past especially when there's plenty of franchises that prove that it can work and why communities don't need to worry about such things. I'm not sure why you think I don't love BG's gameplay anymore, I mean, just because I say that it's flawed, a bit overrated and that want this game to be different and take risks, doesn't mean that I don't still love BG 1&2 anymore. Of course they will always have a special place in my heart. Sorry if I gave the wrong impression, again you're talking ti someone that sticks up for Beamdog for re-releasing the games for a new generation. I just think the community is acting like Baldurs Gate is a piece of some piece of gold that validates these feelings above other franchises.
  18. What shouldn't make sense to you is how people are getting bent out of shape over the possibility of a good BG game being different instead of being positive about it. Like I said we don't even know if it's even gonna be called Baldurs Gate 3? So why is there so much confusion and paranoia among you already? My advocating for the BG game in development being an action-rpg doesn't have to make sense to you, but I don't think that's what it is. I think it's as you said, you don't want it to be called BG3 so hearing someone like me say "I hope it sets itself apart" triggers people like you - though we just don't even know anything about the game. I like when devs and publishers take risk so that's why I want it to be called BG3 and be completely different. Aside from that, we're in a different generation so taking advantage of refined mechanics, graphics engine, etc in a BG game would be nice to see whether members here choose to admit it or not. I mean, I don't see anything wrong with visiting a familiar world and familiar characters from a new, different perspective. All that said, I'll say it agin, it likely won't even be called BG3 since they know how whiney the community is. Also, if it's called BG3 and it's good then it could bring about more fanbase for the series as a whole. You know, people might find themselves interested enoughto say "I wana play the first 2 games and see what this is really all about, what I've missed". Members here just sound pretty selfish and a bit entitled to what they want and what won't be. The constant attitude "Oh we already know it won't be as good as the REAL Baldurs Gate games" speaks for itself. That's not a healthy way to live life... even if most members were to possess that same attitude, just wouldn't make them right - as yet again, we know nothing about the game and who's developing it. About my comparison with Jrpgs and Arpgs being disconnected, I'm not sure how those comparisons to Crpgs would be invalid. Point was that a franchise doesn't have to comtinue to carry on a name with a numeral, this goes for any entertainment mediun really. Just because the first two BG games connected, doesn't mean the rest of the franchise is forced or expected to. We as fans have a superstitious code that we see things as, but reality is that there was never such a law or code to how developers did this. And there will never be, no matter how much we want that. So why are we excluding Baldurs Gate from all other games as if it was any different? And as such, though my points are of sound contest, what I say is probably deemed irrelevant by some of the members here, which I could care less. I mean it's an Internet forum, so truth be told, anything unliked is deemed irrelevant or ehat have you. I'm completely fine with that
  19. Awwwwe poor you <3 Holidays are coming up though, I hope you get some time to finish some cool games
  20. None of the Witcher games are first person, nor are they "crap" lol Perhaps you didn't know so I'm going to teach you da wey.... IE games are Infinity Engine games. Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape Torment were are Infinity Engine games and Infinity Engine games were all at a third person Isometric angle. Crpg isn't bound to isometric angle, for example Neverwinter Nights 1&2, Kotor 1&2, VTM: Redemption and Dragon Age games are technically all Crpg but with the perspective closer to The Witcher series. First person perspective is where you see out of the person's eyes, like Call Of Duty. But onwards to answer your question, it can be closer third person like the Witcher and still be called Baldurs Gate because it's not impossible to retain the atmosphere and overall world feeling from camera placement. Thinking otherwise is quite shallow, especially when there are next to no details of the game. It's time that we accept change and not base quality on preference, once we get past that, we can teach old dogs new tricks and maybe get a bit more out of life
  21. Honestly, I think Pillars should stay simgle player. It excels at that.
  22. Uni-Turd-ity Engine sounds about right. Nice post! I like the upgrades
  23. Who are the people exactly and why aren't they worthy of our trust? Aside from that, if this was 2001 or 2002 and Bioware/MumboJumbo was developing it, you wouldn't be saying "It has no reason to exist" You'd pre-order it without any hesitation lol Don't deny it p.s I've missed you, fellow raggae/ska brother! Daven the dwarf hehee
