One interesting thing they plan on doing since it's a planned trilogy, although I'm not quite sure how, is have the choices you make in one game relevant in some way to the next game. I don't know if they'll be doing it ala KOTORII with a series of questions at the beginning or with data from previous games (since they're all coming out on the 360, nominally) which would be awesome. I wonder how in-depth it would be. Maybe there are characters you could save or kill in the first game that would turn up and make things easier / harder in the third. That'd be the easiest thing to program, I would think.

Warcraft 3 seemed to take after Myth quite a lot, both in the "run the gauntlet!" style of gameplay and the "put your ass to sleep!" boringness.

Besides, the "right to self-determination" doesn't really include what ought to be considered a nation or how territory ought to be divided. Not to sound like a republican, but if we were to really take such a concept seriously prima facae, there wouldn't be much to prevent Mexico from annexing California or other parts of the US with significant populations of Mexican descent ala the Third Reich claiming the predominantly German-populated Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia (that is assuming immigrants would welcome such a proposition). A less extreme example would be meth-lab owning, munitions-hoarding survivalists in the flyover states, who would, we can imagine, jump at the chance to secede. Are we to take them seriously and establish enclaves?

I went through the campaign with 3 other guys via the link-up deal, and was duly unimpressed. The removal of the elites as enemies left a big gaping hole in most of the enemy patterns. It was all weenies and tanks. FEAR meets Ringworld. Boring. As for deathmatch, who ****in' cares? Halo is singly responsible for the game-jock phenomenon as it exists.

I was under the impression that Sacred Fist was less of a prestige class for monks (who get ridiculous at high levels anyhow) and more of a prestige class for clerics that gives them some of, but not all, the powers of a monk.

Guillermo Del Toro's reportedly gotten the go-ahead to make his long-gestating At the Mountains of Madness movie. There's really no better director to tackle Lovecraft at this point, IMO.

In this case, Bioshock might have to take most of the love, seeing how recent its release was and how generally awesome the plotting and execution was. I'd assume MOTB's status as an expansion might hurt its stature. Only the dumb and the paid-off consider Halo to be anything approaching noteworthy. Much as I'd like to see MCA get recognized for PST, or maybe even KOTORII, that ain't happening.
