  1. Yup, that was a thing https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/99848-you-can-pickpocket-head-from-yours-bounties/#comment-2025881
  2. Ah, good old times, when one could pickpocket target's head from his/her inventory.
  3. By the same logic why would you play PoE in Real Time, if there is Diablo 3? Both are isometric RPGs with real time combat and D3 is clearly better as it sold better. You assume both DoS2 and PoE compete within the same space. They don't. According to Swen (maker of DoS2) there is relatively little overlap between those two games. One is absurd multiplayer focused sandboxy Coop RPG, another is singleplayer player-story driven RPG - both are RPGs, both are isometric, but their appeals are quite different. In this forum you are likely to find people who didn't enjoy DoS2 much(like myself) because we like games like PoE - that's why we are here. Being turn-based or RTwP has nothing to do with it. Why would someone play PoE2 over (or in addition to) DoS2 in turn based mode? Story focused experience with rich world and lore, interesting quests, well constructed city, factions, overall ability to role-play. In my personal opinion a much more flexible and impactful character creation and development. When my gaming buddy visits me, we will fire up DoS2 and probably have a great time. Tried to play it by myself and it was a boring slog.
  4. You wouldn’t. You don’t like turn based but someone else who prefers turn based would play it this way. The fact that the option doesn’t offer value just for you, doesn’t mean it doesn’t offer value to other players (nor that adding it detracts from your personal enjoyment. It might spread resources thin, or it might lead to better expected sales and overall increase games production, who knows). I personally didn’t care for the combat in DOS2, and I find Deadfire systems much more enjoyable, even in their imperfect turn based form.
  5. That makes so little sense (aside that you clearly prefer RTwP) I won't attempt to explain that in both RTwP and TB Deadfire you have exactly as much imput. But I must say that you miss a lot as there are plenty of super replayable, brilliantly designed turn based games. Whatever qualms I have with the fairly shallow FiraXCOMs I am greatful that nonsense like that is fairly rare nowadays. Any particular area requiring polishing? Also Woedica's content is great, addressing a major narrative problem, in a story driven RPG. Not to mention, that the writer won't fix whatever problems you see in combat. In addition according to Josh, which Turn-Based system wasn't a small thing to added it was worth doing, and was small compared to ship combat system - so why not have for PoE3 no unnecessary minigame and a RTwP/TB system instead?
  6. That's purely your preference, nothing more. Real-Time and Turn Based have their advantages and some people prefer one over another (or both for different reasons like me!) There are plenty great TB games. Funnily enough, while PoEs are great, it is not because they play in RT. Whenever TB is worth investing Obsidian should know the best after their little experiment with Deadfire. PoE system didn't translate perfectly into TB but it wasn't bad either (it had problems, but it was still enjoyable). If audience interested in TB only is big enough, it might be worth adding even if it will be mechanicly inferior to RTwP. I did full playthrough in TB mode, and it was quite fine. Ideally, I would love to see both modes available for PoE3 with ability to switch between them. We do have a few turn based RPGs, so I certainly would prefer if PoE still focused mainly on being RTwP RPG, and unlike competition, it's mechanics are designed to work in RT.
  7. Wait, there is B-side? I kinda asumed they chained them together this time around as I already reached one heart, and had to pass another heart barrier. EDIT. Oh you mean summit, B-side. I have done all of that. Some of the C-sides took persistance, though those were essencially one screen long. I am talking about Chapter 9, which they have just added. It trumps anything from the base game.
  8. Wow, they didn't kid when they said that the final chapter of Celeste will be long and difficult. Seems like I am halfway there. It is a bit too much for my taste. I do enjoy the technical side of the challenge, but it got to the point that on some screens I am not sure what I am supposed to do. Had to check walkthrough twice now. It is telling that I switch to Dark Souls 2 to relax when I can't handle Celeste anymore
  9. Seems that way. It was mentioned before that Obsidian is working on two projects outside the OuterWorlds, so it would make sense for one of the is Pillars related. Whenever it is straight up PoE3, or if series will take a turn after Deadfire remains to be seen.
  10. Ah! Freespace games. I played them for the first time couple years ago. Brilliant games. Freespace2 is a must play, though I am not sure if it playable without a joystick. The best space combat games I had a pleasure to play up to this point. I find it a shame that most of Space games seem to persue "Freelancer" ideas - I never found those "open world to what you want" games to be ever good. Freespaces did one thing, but they did it rather well. So did Wing Commanders and X-WING games to a lesser degree. I should buy myself a new joystick one of these days. Had to leave my old one behind when I was leaving University.
  11. I know nothing about 2k thrusting habits. I shall quote myself then ask: "Can you read a comment before writing unnecessarly offensive drivel?" PS. [It's not like 2k is more trustworthy] would be a more grammarly competent way of putting the quoted sentence together. PSS. Jim S. likes 2K? I wasn't aware of that [sarcasm: he doesn't]. There are no good guys here. Microsoft in a corporation - the only question is, whenever their business plan includes start making good games or continue not doing that.
  12. Yhh, my Kingmaker playthrough is currently stuck right after getting the title to the land. So far, it has been just to grindy to be enjoyable. I would invest an evening, and all I would do, is fight the same enemy composition over and over again. I did return to Dark Souls 2, after bouncing of it hard when I jumped into it right after DS1. Maybe once I feel a thirst for a isometric RPG Kingmaker will have more appeal. Deadfire sated my apetite... until Disco Elysium comes out that is. That one looks interesting.
  13. There were plenty of complaints about it from people who considered “crit path” the only content worth doing: so port Maje-Neketaka-Hasongo-Ashen Maw-Ondra’s Mortar. It is beyond my comprehension but there were plenty of complaints who dismissed everything else as “side content”, and therefore not worth doing. from patch notes:
  14. Oh boy. Some real gems in here. Asterix: The Arcade Game Spy vs Spy Rick Dangerous Alladin Prince of Persia Flashback English with Rayman Croc: Legend of the Gobbos Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine (german dubbing because...?) Tomb Raider 2 Pharaoh (Dubbing PL) Ancient Domains of Mystery Baldur's Gate 2 (Dubbing PL) Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace Pink Panther: Hokus Pokus Pink (Dubbing PL) Tony Hawk's Pro Scater 2 Colin McRae Rally 2 There is also UFO: Enemy Unknown and Another World, but nostalgic part is watching my brother play them. Didn't play them myself until years later. EDIT: Add Witcher1. Some memories, playing it at nights onlyon a borrowed laptop during my freshman year in Uni.
  15. So people won’t complain that game has no content, while not visiting majority of of games locations. That way player either has to engage with the faction or explore for the hull. I believe you can buy the hull itself in the undead isle. I,don’t think steam stores old builds, like gog does.
  16. As I don't have access to backer beta, my viewpoint is not very indepth. I don't worry about diversity and stuff like that - I assume, that kind of content in the beta is as barebone as possible. There seem to be a lot of balance problems, with some skills requiring serious attention, if not a redesign. I am not convinced there is underlying issue with core systems just yet - but major balancing needs to take place. A lot of things feel like they are a placeholder right now. Destroying weapons seem to be a sure way of disabling enemies/your soldiers. That needs to change, either by making the "destruction" less permanent, or making it more difficult to destroy a weapon. From what I understand, they locked content and put everything together fairly recently. Now they have time until December to polish, squish bugs, balance and iterate. I still remain positive.
  17. I like what I see in Solasta. I threw a modest pledge and will see how it will turn out. So far I have been lucky with crowdfunding.
  18. Still looks quite promising. So far world map is more static then I wish it would be. Hopefully there are still stuff missing.
  19. I never owned a console. I can’t think of a Microsoft game which I would want to play, while there are quite a few games on Sony and Nintendo platforms which I would be happy to dip into. Just recently was finally able to play The Journey via Epic. Lovely little title. When it comes to games, Microsoft’s record isn’t great. Let’s just hope their recent purchases show an intent to change.
