  1. Nothing they said suggested disappointment. I don't know how well d3 sold, but it was reviewed well. Something to keep is mind is that Nordic bailed them from shutting down, so I doubt they are unhappy about the collaboration. https://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/310894/Postmortem_Mimimis_Shadow_Tactics_Blades_of_the_Shogun.php
  2. Uuu, I will add it to my watchlist. I stumbled on his “F3 is garbage, and here is why” a long time ago, and he won me over. This is just pandering at this point.
  3. THQ Nordic is the owner of the IP, so I dont know If you will be giving money to the dev team or the publisher. I am glad you enjoyed it though, I loved both of their recent titles. Luckily for you, Mimimi will be self-publishing their next title, so it will be an excellent occasion to show them your support. EDIT. As you mentioned you are new to the genre I think the first Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive is well worth giving a go, if you don’t mind a little retro-playing. It’s been patched up to work smoothly on modern systems, and it controls surprisingly well for a game from around 2000. It is a wee bit less elegant then Mimimi’s modern design, but it still has plenty going for it.
  4. Yeah, I know. Official G-syncs are too pricey for my taste. I am at the moment leaning towards Gigabyte G27Q. ISP, flat, 1440p Freesyncs. Seems like a good value for money.
  5. I can't imagine anyone being happy for C77 launch. You have been crunched to rush the project, while management lied about games state and progress. A big chunk of W3 goodwill is being burned, and without a doubt CDPR reputation isn't as it was a month ago. It's a shame.
  6. I am currently trying to find my way among monitors. Any recommendations? My initial thoughts has been: IPS 1440p G-Sync compatible. is there anything decent of that sort in £200-300? (I think it’s more 1080p range). if not: anything in £300-400?
  7. I must say, I thought building a decent PC would be cheaper. I do have reservation on spending over £2000 pounds on a toy. And not the best of the best toy at that. If I had TV I might consider getting a console. As it stands.... I guess I will hope that after 3 weeks of no work/no TV/no socializing holiday my reservations will melt .
  8. I don’t plan on overclocking it really (from what I read it’s not terribly beneficial for RYZEN. What’s OC? Thanks for the tip! I adjusted it.
  9. As of today this is my draft https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/sF8TwP any comments?
  10. Ha! His speedruns make everyone look like a noob. It's hours of research and pretty skillful play. Personally, I am fine with it being stealth oriented experience - there is purity in that. The game is very much about repeat and mastery. And I do like my games specialized. I did find the "public zone" mechanic a bit of a waste, but they do some neat things with it near the end of the game. After two games I am up for a change though. Customisable abilities and equipment comes to mind, but it could break the delicate balance they have. I could definitely see they stealth systems be a part of a larger design, rather then a sole focus, but then we are talking about a fairly big game from a bigger studio. I don't know of Mimimi is there just yet.
  11. That’s amazing, and more helpful then I could hope for. Thanks a lot!
  12. Hey folks! I am looking for an advice regarding motherboard. My laptop died, and I have enough funds to plan PC build for Q1 2021 (assuming I will manage to get my hands on a graphics card ). so as far as core components go, I am hoping for: RYZEN 5600X RTX 3070 From what I understand I have a choice between a B550 and X570 chips. As I don’t understand the advantage of X570 I assume I can stick to B550s. Still, looking at ASUS they rock a wide range of B550s, and I fail to comprehend the choice. Anything I should be looking for/be wary of?
  13. that’s the bridge level, correct? That’s definitely the first major difficulty spike - a bit of a boss level for the first chapter. I remember it being the only speedrun badge I genuinely struggled with. The narrative seems to be that Deps3 is too easy, though I think it mostly comes from people who also beat Shadow Tactics (which BTW is absolutely worth picking up) - a lot of mechanics transfer over from ST to D3, so the latter felt like a recap until about midway through. If you feel like watching a pro, check out this guy’s speed runs for levels you have already done.
  14. EveryThorn. Not even sure what it’s supposed to mean, though . That it was grim?
  15. I think it will be more up to Microsoft, as to how long they will want to pay for Avowed’s development, and when they want semi-exclusive content for their consoles. Hopefully, they will learn a lesson from Sony, and invest in prestige platform sellers, rather then try to cash in quickly. So it doesn’t seem like we will be playing Avowed anytime soon. We don’t even quite know what it is.
  16. EA purchased Codemasters. Shame, I am not a racer fan, but I dig Dirt Rallies very mucho. With so many racing companies under EAs umbrella, I can't help but wonder who will be on the chopping block.
  17. Disco Elysium is getting Fina Cut in March, adding new areas, new NPCs and quests and full VO. With how longs it’s been since DE1.0 I have high hopes for this one. It would be a game to rival Planescape Torment, if it didn’t fall apart in its second half. Hopefully, they will add some meat to the game after the initial area and get rid of the stupid single skill check gate. Either way, I was thinking of giving Disco 2nd playthrough, so they set the date for me.
  18. I intent do dive into Warframe, since like, forever. Why play a free-to-play game though, if I can buy one
  19. Mimimi, German studio behind Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, and Desperados 3 announced they themselves will be publishing their next game, currently named “Project Sweet Potato”. While not much is know about Project Sweet Potato it will be, like Mimimi’s two previous titles, a Real-Time Tactics game.
  20. Oh new Hitman games (at least season one or two) and possibly the best hitman's have to offer (perhaps outside atmosphere, but that's a choice rather then fault). Sapienza from H1 is probably my favourite hitman level. I was less thrilled by H2, mostly due to bigger narrative focus on plot rather then targets. Levels are still lots of fun.
  21. I don’t know how well research Raycevick’s content, is but he does paint a grim picture of a team having to chew a massive project in a short period of time, with Bioware painfully expanding after being acquired with EA. Content cuts and changes do fit the final project - a nonsensical story, which makes sudden and awkward U turns, while entire narrative threatens to fall apart - the ending was just the final crash site. There is so much puzzlingly wrong with ME3 - how poorly directed conversations are, how dialogue system was simplified even further, lack of exploration (which was already a problem in ME2, but at least it had unique sidequests, not the reused multiplayer maps thing), and overall shoddiness and bugginess of the whole thing. Geez you can't even holster the weapon. I replayed all MEs last year, and oh my the third one feels like a cheap knockoff. And I disagree about ME2. ME2 has simple set up, but a lot of story. Individual companions expand both the world and the lore, Shepard’s conflict with Cerberus, world altering subjects like Geth, Quarian fleet, Genophage. Actually, one of things I dislike about ME3, is that in attempt to tie up every loose thread, they retread a lot of ME2 again - all of the subject I mentioned are visited again, but... worse. Not to mention, I feel, that Shepard solving each major galactic conflict in one game, because otherwise he won’t get help... really cheapens them. ME2 is not free of contrivance and melodrama, which really buried ME3, but it is still an engaging popcorn flic.
  22. And that's pretty much the main problem. Both DA:O and Mass Effect 1&2 were ambitious games with solid foundations. ME3 and DA2 were rushed cashgrabs. Bring continuations (or finale) to far superior titles only made a drop in quality that much more apparent. There are some companies, whose name act as a quality guarantee. With those two titles BioWare burned any good will they had with me.
  23. Neither DA2 nor ME3 are terrible per say. But for me they were a big disappointment and a shift in what I expected from Biow. I can appreciate taking a swing and missing in some way, but those felt creatively bankrupt. That's been my main problem with BioWare... No games they released past that felt intriguing to me.
  24. I stopped believing in Bioware with Dragon Age2 and Mass Effect3. I heard in only got worse from there, so I lean into doomsayering. Two significant faces “retiring” at the same time seems suspicious to me... especially, in time when Bioware should be desperately fighting for credibility. I am not terribly concerned with long time employees leaving. I am more concerned with how longs it’s been since Bioware’s name has been attatched to a great title.
  25. Pillars of Eternity1 and Tyranny will be free next week on Epic Games Store - assuming anyone here doesn’t own both already.
