  1. Hello everyone. I need your help. Through inspiration of playing limited sized parties in PoE, I want to design a PotD duo that follows the description: Thought of Thor and Loki, a brother duo godlikes, Moon/fire and Death/fire respectively. Their roles in the fray would be for Thor to be and unkillable beast while Loki would jump to the back and obliterate squishies, while Thor keeps the frontline busy. Idea would be Thor as a (not bleakwalker) Paladin+Trickster/Streetfighter and Loki as Trickster/Berzerker (or mage slayer). Thor would hand n plank with Gladiator sword/C and Wahai Poraga for 2nd set. Idea behind this char is mainly be a wall, while also providing some support for Loki, when he gets focused down and has to back off so we can greater lay on hands his ass for him to keep fighting. Loki would dual wield with dual pistols for opening salvo and switch to something like Modwyr/Squid's grasp or something of the sort. The weapons here are situational and please DO sugest variants. Dual saber is also acceptable of course. Dual wielding here is key to burst down the squishies in the least time possible. Though as tempting as it seems, Assassin subclass is a no-no for me, doesn´t offer nearly enough for my tastes to give up a trickster with access to deflection with guile. So off we go: Loki (MC, Berath's blessing for stats n skills). Race: Fire Godlike Class: Berzerker/Trickster Background: White that Wends - Laborer Str: 19 Con: 12 Dex: 12 Per: 20 Int: 17 Res: 10 Vamping skill list out of "The Lightning Sphinx" because lazy and just want to set in the groundwork so it's easier to clean up than make anew, even if the former ends up happening anyway. ---- NOT UPDATED YET ----- Full List of Abilities at Lvl 20 Actives in Red Rogue: -Riposte? -Backstab -Escape -Dirty Fighting -Gouging Strike (Upgrade from Blinding Strike) -Persistent Distraction -Deep Wounds -Devastating Blow (upgrade from Finishing Blow) -Slippery Mind -Death Blows Barbarian: -Frenzy -Blooded -Thick Skinned -One stands Alone -Bloody SLaughter -Wild Sprint -Savage Defiance -Barbaric Smash (upgrade of Barbaric blow) -Interrupting Blows -Blood Thirst -Spirit Tornado (upgrade of Frenzy) I have no gear preference, so suggestions also welcome for me to write up a build. It'll be generaly about being tanky while not taking too many aflictions I guess (probably the double second wind on Loki), and would also like to know which type of backstory I need to pick to have access to Devil of Caroc's breastplate in my storyline. Current storyline I'm playing in does not have it, so I cannot play around with it. When I have time I´ll update this for you to know the gist of the character's skills be. Thor important skills: Greater Lay on Hands as stated, Persistent distraction and riposte (the main reason why I'm highly considering the Rogue multi). Loki important skills: Do more damage faster. And not die. That's it. ANY kind of input is apreciated :D On a final note, although I don't really like to pop drugs and consumables, I'll do so when the fights demand it, but don't really want to relly on it. Having scrolls of ressurect/moonwell/storms is ok and pots to heal up/spirit shield is fine. EDIT: I'm not limited by Thor/Loki interaction, but it was an iconic duo I could think of. If something sugested isn't up to the theme of said duo, one could argue on things to justify decisions.
  2. Hello everyone, This was reported before, but I believe it was suposed to be fixed already. As it stands, I have both Pallegina and Teheku as chant multi, and, while this hasnt happened for the longest time, something happened that Teheku stopped accumulating chants, while pallegina has no trouble. Any thoughts on how to fix? I'm not sure the reload the game works, haven't tried it, but just booted up the game and 1st fight and 2nd fight without 2nd round chants. On first fight I believe he started chanting again once I changed from C to B phrase chant (but can't be too sure if this fixed it). Thanks in advance!
  3. I get what you want to say, but this is a perk of being 1h only, not a relationship with Full attack for it however....
  4. Hello folks, As the topic suggests, what does full attack skills such as flame of devotion or crippling strikes do extra apart from being simply VERY GOOD with dual sabres? I'm currently running a feisty Rogue(trickster)/Paladin(Bleak walker) and I'm having a blast! Currently with 2 w mastery using sabre and an exceptional mace I found. But, I'm thinking of turning this into a 1h only build (I crave dem crits). Now, as far as I understand, this build shines most with 2w or 2h because of the sheer ammount of full atacks in the kit at my disposal. I know Andrea and Boeroer have something to say about this because calculations were made for PoE1, and I've read em all. Wondering about 1h solo full atacks. Would it profit? Or be objectively weaker of all choices? Thanks in advance!
  5. I agree with you and I have a follow-up question: Am I right that there is no priest spell or scroll protecting your party from getting stunned? I thougt so, but now I'm not sure. That's why I considered the coastal aumaua race bonus as one of the best and had the impression that "stun" was the most annoying affliction in the game. There are scrolls and a priest spell that let you gain immunity to paralyze and petrify. But I never found a spell or scroll that made me immune to stun. ...Please tell me I haven't overlooked this scroll for all that time ;-) If not, the stun affliction would a legit reason to still take bear's fortitude and possibly body control, even if you have a priest in your party. Especially in ToI games. On the other hand, as you have already pointed out, there are other ways to push your fortitude defense, and thus, defense against stunned + all the other nasty disables. The spell exists, but there's no scroll for it. It's called Litany against major afflictions, lvl 6 priest spell i think, makes you immune to stun. Only thing as such in the game. Most of the times bear fort+body control should take care of the brunt of it, even if its to convert those afflictions into grazes. Still, most of the time you dont want your paladin healer/supporter or your front line dpser stunned randomly, so you might wana cast that if you have a priest around.
  6. Alpine says he's immune to paralyze! Am I missing something cuz everyone keeps saying paralize? Other than this being a convention on dealing with dragons (poor adra and sky drake, tsk tsk) Can't really "save" the adds, they are quite bothersome as well and the charmed dragon takes care of breath/tail on his adds, killing the brunt of it. Can I hit the dragon while he's charmed and it wont turn on me? Or was it dominated?
  7. Confusion might be the way to go since while he's confused I dont need to fear random breath/tail swipes that suddenly kill everyone. He's imune to paralisis, so that scroll is out. And as I said before, I do use prayer against fear, dragons and banshees all need it to succeed. I do use coordinated atacks on paladin and was using a marking weapon on cipher (the st something pistol out of blackenburry). Am also using strike hard for the disorienting effect and spelltongue on the barbarian. Should I not engage him in melee at all cept with the "tank"? If so, there is kinda no way to flank him cept with figurines...
  8. Necro them posts! Playing on PotD, upscaled, finished WM1 and Act 2, no vancian casters (mage, priest, druid). Got a cipher. Currently struggling on beating this bad boy. Think party is around lvl 12 (mc barb, pala, chanter, cipher, ranger and monk). Fight starts. I have the stag near dragon, behind an ice elemental thingy, so the dragon runs around a bit till he manages to hit the stag. This gives me more time to build up some focus on the cipher which will be the main dragon controler. I cast Protection from fear, Scroll defense and valor. When dragon comes, whispers of treason and spectres spawn. Basicaly rinse and repeat until all that's left is the dragon. Now comes the tricky part. No one can realy tank him for long, nor can I build up enough focus to cast everything I need on the cipher (tactical meld, psy shield and borrowed instincts on self, and fractured volition on him). Not using pots/food yet, but will if I have to. On a sidenote, I hit dragon with sworn enemy as I'm casting whispers, so I can have dominate (acra munet? names....) on dragon on a 54% chance. This will save some focus for the cipher. Thoughts/advice? Got some durganized stuff, but my party is mostly melees.
  9. Sad, was thinking of dumping frenzy alltogether.... invested 2 points on the skill and it takes too damn long to cast
  10. They should stack because they come from a different source: one is gear, the other is talent. Even though it doesn't really sound like something you should go for, given there are stuff much more anoying than archers :D (looking at stuns, paralyzes and so on)
  11. Body control talent, priest spell/scroll protection against.... something which includes paralize and petrify. Items such as wayfarer's hide that grants +defense against paralyzed (think work against xaurip auto atack save roll vs paralyze). Other than that, kill them fast or have a good deflection+acuracy hazzard on them (blinds and beyond) so they can't hit.
  12. Resilient companion and... a paladin :D Lay on hands has to be the best single target heal, plus, after resilient the pet becomes quite sturdy and his sturdiness scales with lvl. Other than that.... Reviving exhortation from paladin after he's taken the brunt of the damage and died in the process and you have thinned out or managed to live through the early part of the fight (which should be the most dificult). After the first 20-30s of fight have passed you can revive the pet, the debuff will disapear and you can kinda "freely" position your pet to take advantage of stalkers link. EDIT: doing my first playthrough with ranger and I can tell you that afte ranger hits the lvl 13 sweet spot, his damage and utility becomes something close to obscene (plus quadra proc chance on stormcaller per shot).
  13. Welcome to Pillars of Eternity Barbarian has arguably the best passive for trash mobs (carnage) and is overall a decent hitter. He will not shine at lower levels however, as he needs items and lvls to start facerolling stuff (in comparisson with some other classes). Still, you're welcome to check this forum section 2nd pinned post by Andrea, which has several build sugestions you can look at and read on. And remember, there is only one correct way to play this game: HAVE FUN!!!! Other than that, go wild on what you want! Normal is a quite lenient game mode and will not punish you much for not being "perfect" (aka min maxed). You should harness from this game mode knowlege and experience for future (if you had fun :D) playthroughs ^^, which means making mistakes and kinda figuring out what works for you or not. Always remember that you can FULLY (... except race) reroll your main character AND hirelings, so you can experiment guilt free :D Quick hint: barbarian wants the heaviest armor possible early game.
  14. Good to know, I like solidarity in runs with godlikes. Also.... having a friggin plate helm on a cloth/leather armor fella isnt really my thing..
  15. I believe if I would drop the fighter would be for the acc debuffs on the other team, that would be the gist of the thing (and hof). What u talkin about? 2 knockdowns? I have 3 here! Totaly makes the difference xD And I also like the rotfinger boots (or whatever they're called) for aoe fast cast debuff on the fighter :D I would think for this kinda setup I would go something like frenzy, barbaric yell, savage defiance, threatening presence, barbaric shout, hof, dragon leap. Inbetween I'd add veteran recovery, greater frenzy and stalwart defense... and maybe accurate carnage, but it's not on top of the list. I tend to balance out my characters for my needs so I guess I'd see later. Hours of st rumbalt prone on crits with carnage when the main hit crits? Or when the carnage crits? If it's the 2nd, well worth taking accurate. I like the the stat distribution however, thank you for that! Boeroer, advice pretty please? With a springberry on top? :D
  16. Seems like the main difference on builds would be, besides cipher for druid, the barbarian for fighter. I've been wanting to try out a barbarian on an all out brawl too.... The consideration of replacing Lady of pain for a barbarian is quite appealing actualy What stats/gear (besides weapons as you mentioned) would you make this fine gent?
