shouldn't there be lightsaber specializations involving saber staff? I dunno know if there are saber forms or the rules on duel weilding, but also might they count as specializations?
-
so what are the rules on the penalties for if you roll a one with the colored die?
-
Juhani sounds like a Cathar in that she has trouble controlling her agressive impuleses. It's common for cathar jedi. I think. I read it somewhere.
-
So should I get the book?
-
Not just you. Is it just me or was everything faster in video than in KOTOR 1?
-
Was thinking of Hapan for a sec, but they have 13 points and for a west end newbie like me I'll stick with probably human or something easy but cool. My question now is would you reccomend that I purchase the book? It is 30$ and I am low on cash, but I can make ends meet I think.

What does that _/_ for movement mean? Is taht the same min/max idea?
-
Go to the buffy site. Look under the core book in products. They should have a demo feature with most of the basic rules and some character stats.
-
Forgive poor me the inexperienced one, but on the Rancor Pit there are no alien rules, just _d+_/_d+_ what's with the slashes? Are the numbers on the left the bonuses to a stat?

I'd have people do whatever they want to. I'd probably be a jedi. Depends what era. If it's thrawn (that has alot of potential) and aftermath of taking of coruscant era, that sounds fun. So does the KOTOR era.

Amazon has it. What's the most recent printing?

Wow...that seems awesome...i didn't see you write the links or put down anything about feats. Are there any feats or did I just read too fast?
-
One of the few problems with a character that the player makes is that it's hard for that character to have a personality. These feats that you guys have suggested all seem to try to give the PC an identity. It's a good idea, but would require a rule change and would be really hard for the storyline to manage probably. I've been saying this alot recently, but maybe by KOTOR 3. If you guys like the mixed blessing traits stuff, you would probably love the unisystem. I'm waiting for them to make a unisystem game since a few months ago when I first started playing (don't laugh it's a really good and fun game) Buffy the Vampire Slayer RPG. It's by eden studios. Check it out.

I think sayings are fine. As long as there is variety and they aren't said too often. Knights treads a line of being enough and almost too much. BG ID and their sequels I think use sayings way too much. I say throw in variety among someone's sayings so you won't hear the same one all the time from one person.
-
Sequels don't doom anything as long as they're good. Same for prequels. A really bad se/prequel runs the risk of detracting/ruining the entire series. Look at Episodes I and II. Star Wars seemed a lot lamer after they came out to me. And I'm a huge SW fan.

Better one-on-one fights...duals?

I'd agree that all games need an element of skill to be popular and successful. Maybe that's why computer rpgs have become less popular than the console counterparts. If bioware/lucasarts/obsidian/whoever else makes the game wants the game to keep up its success, they're probably going to have to add in some more complex battle elements probably by KOTOR 4. -
No problem. Unless I really get pissed (usually results when...never mind), I find logic is the best solution. Besides, people who just say random stuff without supporting it and then vehemently and rudely defend their point with a stream of noise (can't call it words as they aren't saying anything meaningful or new) just make themselves seem like ignorant idiots and prove their opponents points with every crude utterance. Besides, I thought about it and laser or energy whips could be very cool. I just decided that they are best left for KOTOR 3 or 4 as they would take so much time to make good. Besides, we all remember the KOTOR 1 delays and that should never happen again.

I'm 80% sure I can play. Enough to probably be able but have a little doubt. What's the West End website?

Better one-on-one fights...duals?

I think of Sephiroth as the colleseum boss (argh can't spell). And I have fought 2 out of the 3 optional bosses even though I don't have the game (haven't fought clock boss and PS2 is too expensive). I almost beat Sephiroth and so did my friend even when we were underprepared because of luck and skill. We got him down 3 life bars and we had died usually on his 2nd bar. That was a great fight. Classic where you need to pay attention with all your focus and have to be really skilled. THe problem in Knights is that there is no skill in the fights. The only skill is in the preparation and knowing what to use when (health low must heal). A beginner can beat malak if they know what all the attacks do. The only difference between a beginner and expert is that the beginner (unless they're stupid and impacient and thus doomed) takes a lot longer with the game paused deciding what to do. -
Flourishes are a nice finishing touch, but I think they are probably the least important part of the game. How crucial are flourishes to the plot? Then again, I am a huge advocate of new attack animations so I can't talk. By the way I do agree that there should be new flourishes and animations for te different stances.

My friend who I thought would do it says he thinks he's not that interested in rpging where you don't talk person to person with everyone. Also, his internet is so bad it is almost nonexistant.

I don't mind the fact that you don't swing the KOTOR sword. My main problem is that once you beat the final boss, there's not much for you to do. In all FF games and Hearts, you can backtrack and do sidequests and minigames, level up to become stronger and prepare, get super items that are powerful but really hard to get, and last but most importantly: fight a super hard enemy that you have no hope of defeating without being painstakingly well prepared and high in levels. This is what really makes a game have longer playtime. You can beat the game in 30 hours but it takes 90 hours to beat everything in the game. If I remember rightly, Hearts has an optional boss in most of their worlds, right? The boss is always hard. -
Why does eveyone hate pazaak this much? I thought it was kind of fun as a change of pace from the normal game, easy to learn, fun to play for just one or two rounds at at time, and a nice way to make money. And it's optional.
-
Forget using it in KOTOR 3, why not KOTOR 2? I think this is an excellent solution. Either the person wastes time and watches TV while those characters are unavalible or they use a different party. The only problem is what about the main character? You can't form a party without him/her, and if s/he's healing...

I think that saber whips are doomed to mediocraty or failure myself unless alot of time is invested in them making rules, special options, and super cool attack animations. I think that the developing team simply can't spare this time without sacraficing other aspects of the game or delaying it. Neither of these sound appealing.
