  1. I'd like a soul-selling massive preparation required, near impossible optional boss. I also agree with just about everything you guys have said about one-on-one fights. I say why just one-on-one. Mass melee fights should have special animations or feats that allow you to attack more than one person at the same time (cough cough whirlwind cough).
  2. I'd most certainly agree. I say there should be more minigames...interplanet and intraplanet. Actually I'd prefer intraplanet minigames.
  3. I also don't see the character's personalities being so simple that the voices would characterize them without detracting from the game.
  4. Ummmm, the PC does have a voice. It isn't used in dialogue, but you can here him/her speaking when you select them or when they are hit by an enemy. It's used in the original KOTOR.
  5. The offical star wars rpg has stuff ______ background. They give skill bonuses and reflect how you grew up. They are avalible only at first level.
  6. Putten mashing is not really involved, trust me. You can do a number of consecutive attacks dependent on your level. You also can jump, dodge, block and run in real time when you're fighting. Of course many worlds are uninhabited. E.g. Tarzan's world is the middle of the jungle where 3 or 4 people live. Traveler's town is highly inhabited. Awesome cameo appearances (SQUALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) make the game awesome. The disney thing just throws people off at first.
  7. All you need for malak if oyou are a anyting but a consular should be your saber and heal. Pulling out echani shields every now and then is nice. Malak constantly annoying stuns, so I like using a sentinal against him. Consulars rely on their force powers (which are often weaker than lightsabers), which really don't work well against Malak. I found the only really useful powers in the game were heal, speed, kill, sometimes death field, statis field, I guess the force wave, and destroy droid (there's probably one force power I'm forgetting about right now). If you have heal alone, just pull out your saber and hit him over and over again. If you have a high enough defense, you should take around 40-80 damage per round. He should take around 40-120 per round. When you are beating him like this you don't even have to worry about him healing, as you can just beat the crap out of him after he's healed. Just remember to heal yourself after every 2 turns of attack at least. Really, echani shields don't hurt at all.
  8. It is? Are the other "useless" skills funcioning other such multiple purposes? I say that they should add in more skills and give us more points per lvl. I just read that fallout has diverse endings based on how you play the game. I think KOTOR should have multiple solutions to the problems. Then again, I want the team to focus their energies making the game as good as they can, multiple endings or no. Sry, gtg for the night. Cya.
  9. I'd probably RPG with you (though doing 4 at the same time could be tough...). A major RPG member who is in both my LOTR and BTVS has gone to Japan for 3 months and another member will be out of town. I can' t RPG solo, so I won't be doing that much of 2 of my RPGs this summer.
  10. Wasn't awareness virtually useless in the 1st game?
  11. That sounds really awesome! How compatable is it with varying systems (e.g. unisystem and decipher's d6 system)?
  12. I agree. I think most people who weren't FF fans said "Ugh. Disney" and never looked at it. I'll admit, I'm a big FF fan (VIII rules) and I grimaced when I saw that Square was making their next game with Disney. I was sure that that had ruined the company and FF would never be as good again.
  13. When do you think the turning point came? Jedi Knight? I say it was definately making better games by Jedi Outcast. Though, Outcast was probably its first really good game. my bad, forgot about Rebellion.
  14. KOTOR has better character development (statistically and personality), maybe plot, a classic, famous, and great setting (though Hearts was funny in its setting), better character choices (party selection), ranged weapons. I'd say the combat in KOTOR is fine...excellent as many d20 RPG combat systems turn out being boring and pathetic seeming. I do see your point. Hearts has almost every advantage over KOTOR, yet KOTOR manages to be a better game. KOTOR needs minigames (better ones), and optional bosses (Omega Weapon). And more of a challenge at least in optional parts of the game.
  15. I'd say this is one of the only lucasarts game that they have something to milk. Thus it makes sense that they're trying to take advantage of one of their few good and successful games. Btw, I've noticed a decided upturn in the quality of Lucasarts games recently. Anyone else noticed this?
  16. I'd agree that Taris was the biggest planet. I'd say Dantooine wasn't that small. The others did have little to do on them. Manaan had almost nothing, but it took a long time because everything on that planet was tedious and long.
  17. The game can be challenging...sometimes. The pnp rules are adapted ok for a videogame. The lack of skills and feats at character creation kind of is a point, but I think KOTOR's plot is very good and character creation is good regardless (how would they incorporate that many skills into the game without delaying it 6 years).
  18. So how would basic things work, like detailed communication. Would you need a program to do the rolls, or would people use their honesty and say what happens. Would there be a virtual map? Could people choose pictures to represent them? How would one do anything if a member can't make it? How would one coordinate and do this?
  19. Yah, but they have enough to max that out if they put no skill points in anything else. That's what I did with Carth as he has no uses for any other skills.
  20. I find minigame to advance things less usually as they are optional. Then again, I don't hate Pazaak like eveyone else seems to. I still think if anyone has extra time, Sabaac would be nice. Pazaak gets pretty boring pretty fast but is a nice occasional change of pace from the game. I think that the minigames should be slightly more numerous and extensive. THe dueling arena was nice, but kinda short. The spaceship gunning was really easy and pointless, but also a nice change of pace. My main gripe with the ship game is that the enemies start clustered so when it starts click the mouse really fast and 9/10ths die. Swoop racing was kind of nice but I hated the random tatooine lag that violated my speedy computer and made the course impossible. I would like maybe a more fun, extensive, side game that is very difficult that offers serious rewards and takes many hours to beat. Sorta of like Blitzball, which can be fun, a game in and of itself, can be played alot of time without getting more of the same always (not like pazaak), offers improvement (btw getting the upgrades in the swoop bikes that were mentioned the whole game would be nice), and has big rewards and storyline roots and influence. I can't think of a suitable type of minigame right now, but I am confident the KOTOR 2 team could do it if they applied themselves.
  21. I've never tried online RPGing. Is it cool?
  22. Sry, Raven, it' just I saw what happened on your last forum (I think it was saber whips). Also I'm tired. Instead of diatribing, I should have just written a question mark and moved on. So I'll do that now. ?
  23. Then if you max out treat injury, won't you heal an inordinate amount of health, allowing one to incessently restore health easily.
  24. I knew it was inevitable that you would descend on this relatively focused forum and force it to devolve to a lesser form through random and irrelevent information. Basically you ruin every discussion you enter.
  25. I think that system works okay. There would be a better explanation in the rules than "the character is experienced and thus is able to take more damage" as to why they can avoid being cut in half by the saber when they are hit by it.
