  1. Confusion confirmed Poor Achilles... Poor one of us μῆνιν ἄειδε Ἰησοῦ Ἀχιλῆος (Nonstandard translation, for particularly dull children: "This is the story of an angry man") οὐλομένην, ἣ μυρί᾽ ἄλγε᾽ ἔθηκε.... ἀνδρὶ παρ᾽ ἀκλήρῳ, ᾧ μὴ βίοτος πολὺς εἴη, ἢ...
  2. So a berserk (or simply confused) chanter surrounded by summoned skeletons should get at least +2 / skeleton hit?
  3. The major problem with trying to design PoE 2 so that single-class is more powerful while multi-class is more versatile is that for many class combinations either one would require a radical redesign of class abilities relative to PoE 1. That hasn't happened. So on the one hand we have weapons using multiclasses being more powerful than single-class, and on the other we have many multiclass combinations that don't add substantive versatility relative to single-class. Of course, it's still possible than fighters et cetera get enormously powerful higher-level abilities beyond the scope of the beta. But the beta represents at least about half of the game.
  4. Would be much more inclined to multiclass him if subclasses were allowed. Unless one of the other characters turns out to be a better tank (will Pallegina still be held back by stats?) his default build will just be fighter tank so I can get resistances as fast as possible. (Maybe use scrolls with the +1 power level stance?)
  5. Just tested that, pressing tab after typing in character name does fix it, thankfully....
  6. The new beta added a bug that prevents this in loaded saves---there's a "paperdoll character" with the same name as player / hired adventurer / mercenary and so any console command that takes a party member as a parameter has an "AmbiguousObject error".... But it works fine in new games.
  7. In my game the tooltip UI is claiming that reload time is now increased by armor... is it accurate now though?
  8. They don't stack, but now single class can get both passive resistance to afflictions for specific attributes *and* the passives that add to the defense that's usually targeted by those afflictions. Also, for multiclass combinations where you only want to pick a couple of abilities from one of the classes, the rest of your forced picks from that class can be useful generic passives (instead of being forced to take abilities that are mostly useless for your build or playstyle...).
  9. The only multiclass right now that gets a major direct bonus to spell damage (as opposed to penetration and accuracy, or might) is Barbarian Wizard---just tested, Blooded (+25%) and Wilder Hunter (+25%) work with spells. (Assassinate does too but only grants +50% crit damage as opposed to damage in general. And Helwalker can get a large bonus to Might....) Bloodlust is also the only speed boost that stacks with everything else (and can be triggered by killing your own summons). Maybe throw in Barbaric Yell, Wild Sprint, or Thick Skinned (as well as upgraded Frenzy at higher levels) and Berserker Wizard could be fun... if the lack of accuracy isn't too much of an issue (could open combat with weapon modal attacks using Barbarian's bonus accuracy with proficient weapons, get blooded, then cast? or cast location-based spell with duration *before* combat (for example chill fog), attack with weapon modal and get blooded, then lure enemies into spell---blooded bonus should get applied if you're bloodied when the spell hits them).
  10. Bug also applies to new adventurers recruited in a save that's been loaded (i.e. you load the save, recruit them, and the "paperdoll" bug prevents them from being parameterized). And doesn't just affect attributescore but addability as well, presumably any console command that requires the character to be a parameter. Anyone find a workaround, other than creating a new game?....
  11. At 35 int, troubadour linger is 8.7 seconds. With x1.25% duration from crit applying to 14.7 second duration that comes in at 17.875, just under the 18 seconds that would be needed to continually stack 3 Dragon Thrasheds. However, any items that add additional duration should put you over the threshold.... But at iirc 22 int you can get a 6.1 second linger which should crit for a 15.125 second duration, and since it ticks every 3 seconds (starting at 0) you should be able to continually stack two and get the first two ticks of a third for an average of about 3.6 damage / second after the first 12 seconds, before factoring in Might (or other possible multipliers, like Barbarian blooded perhaps?). Well, will have to test it more.... Her Courage Thick as Steel has a very confusing description now---the tooltip body says it has a fixed base duration of 10 seconds, while the other chants say they have base duration of 6 seconds. But then it also has linger... and the combat log doesn't indicate its duration, just when it absorbs damage or expires.
  12. Unless there was another patch after the new beta was released today?...
  13. It looks like the linger is affected by intellect, but the base duration is not. The linger increases the DoT duration. Brisk Recitation cuts the DoT duration in half as well as removing linger, but doesn't affect DoT's that have already been applied. With Brisk Recitation the DoT duration seems to still be affected by graze/hit/crit, though the UI is inconsistent (combat log shows duration as affected, but when you scroll over it, the pop up window with attack roll information shows it not being affected... enemy status information seems shows it being affected though, and seems to match up with DoT ticks)....
  14. After further testing, Brisk Recitation limits the Dragon Thrashed duration to 3 seconds... so actually not that great. The linger does increase duration of the DoT and is affected by intellect. The UI is giving three different sets of durations at the same time though....
  15. Dragon Thrashed is actually good. It's implemented as a DoT, with duration affected by intellect (base duration is 6 seconds), that stacks with itself. So a Troubadour with +50% effect duration from intellect using Brisk Recitation should be able to stack 3 instances for 24 damage per 3 seconds... and that's not considering bonus duration from crits.
  16. Dragon Thrashed and Come Soft Winds of Death are implemented as DoTs (i.e., every time the chant is started it attacks all enemies in range and applies a DoT to each it hits individually, with crits getting longer duration and grazes getting shorter duration). Contrary to what the tooltip says, their duration is influenced by intellect. Multiple instances of the Dragon Thrashed can stack with each other (I'd guess the same is true for Soft Winds of Death). Very nice. This makes Dragon Thrashed worthy of being a 5th tier ability. I like that you have to use a bit of strategy to make maximum use of it.
  17. attributescore [player name, player, or Player_name] isn't working because a "paperdoll" object is being created that has the name Player_[name]. This bug doesn't happen with a new game, but only after loading a saved game.
  18. Dragon Thrashed description is a bit confusing---damage per 3 seconds for 6 seconds. Does that mean 6 seconds each time a chant is started, or does the 6 seconds just refer to the usual time span of a chant? If the former, then with Brisk Recitation, can you stack multiple instances from the same chanter? That might not be so bad....
  19. Now that weapons passives have been added for all classes... Ranger is still the only one with Gunner (-20% reload speed iirc). Ghost Heart summons the pet. So you don't have to use the pet. Maybe a bit more Rogue-like too. Driving Flight with firearms should be extremely good. You don't actually have to pick that many Ranger abilities if you multiclass---just one every 3 levels. And you can pick one of the universal passives for those. Of course Black Jacket (you can get 4 weapon slots at level 1 now, with quick switch, so 8 pistol or blunderbuss shots with no reload time) or Bleak Walker are also options....
  20. So now we can see that Dragon Thrashed and Soft Winds of Death do damage once every 3 seconds... and Troubadour gains 50% linger time, which should mean 4.5 linger seconds instead of 3... so Troubadour doesn't end up doing more damage with the longer linger, unless there are items which increase linger time?
  21. Is Psychic Backlash / Brutal Backlash no longer once / encounter? Don't see it in the description any more.... Edit: Never mind, the once per encounter designation is there when you scroll over it, just not in the description body. Too bad, it would be better if it weren't limited....
  22. Its here! It's here! Well, it's on steam at least. Haven't checked GOG. Where on Steam? I'm using Steam and I don't see any indication.... Edit: Ah, now it's working.
  23. I for one do indeed include California in the US. Yes, but it's not one of the states in which it's a holiday---specifically, "Connecticut, Texas, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Tennessee, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Jersey, North Carolina and North Dakota." (What a random seeming list... I'd expected Texas and Louisiana because of Catholicism. But why North Dakota and North Carolina, but not South Dakota and South Carolina?)
  24. Not in most US states, including California. Don't know what Obsidian's ethno-religious makeup is, but for observant Jewish people, Pesach starts at sundown.
