  1. I don't use level-scaling because I have always preferred to play the game the way the developers intended, and level scaling kind of removes the point about levelling up at all since you don't get a real benefit from doing so since all enemies 'level up' too. That said, currently I'm pretty much selecting the whole group and targeting enemies one by one instead of using spells and abilities. Not always, but quite frequently. Not exactly a great situation, and I'm glad Obsidian are rebalancing the difficulty levels. Maybe it's an inadvertent consequence of all the people struggling with difficulty in the beta, which was due to being under-levelled in that particular area? Currently I'm in that region, Tikaware + the gorgeous-looking desert/ruin area. We are level 15, so probably very over-levelled. But have not yet explored the top third of the world map, and the SE sector.
  2. Maybe I'm mistaken here, but don't these descriptions get auto-generated based on the stats of the item in the game files? Otherwise it will be a true nightmare to maintain them throughout the patching process. But if that is the case I don't understand why errors like this pops up. Is it because the effect is so unique? Or maybe the effects itself (poison dipped) is incorrectly set somewhere?
  3. I agree on the whole, though I must admit I did stop and LOL after about the 50th dramatic "Ondra says... Magran says... Hylea says..." in a row during one of the later God Chats. Those bits are my only problem with the narration in the game, because it takes me right out of the "moment". Wish they removed them entirely. Keep the text if it's needed, but remove the voice-overs. As for dispositions, I've picked up Cruel somewhere too, and I'm not sure where. Every disposition is filled up, except Cruel and Shady. And for the most part I've been a goody-two-shoes. Not completely, but mostly. The thing is, you're almost bound to end up with something like that due to the vast amount of conversation, and presumably disposition checks/accelerators. If there was some kind of ratio instead, we'd arrive at a more "true" disposition representation. More tricky to keep control of than mere counters, though. Maybe something for POE3?
  4. 1. "effots" --> "efforts" 2. "aroud" --> "around 3. "a folded arms" --> probably remove the "a". Needs a rewrite in any case
  5. In the same way I despised vampires and other level-draining creatures for the way they'd force me to have to re-select my spells to memorize all over again. Really? It was that bad? I played the original BG2 and other IE games back in the day, but having played the Enhanced Editions ever since they came out, I had completely forgotten about this. Wow, that was a major inconvenience. Regarding gear being dropped on death, it's always fun to have 3+ party members die in battle in the IE games. The rule I've set for myself is that I'm not allowed to load if one or two party members die, but I will load if 3+ die in the same fight because I don't want to spend 5 minutes re-equipping my characters. Not having having any means of resurrection with me makes it worse because I need to haul all their gear back to a temple. It sure was an inconvenience, and I'm glad something similar isn't in POE, but I'd rather do that all day long than pay for anything Beamdog has put their filthy paws on.
  6. I'm guessing this isn't intended? Had been through some tough combat so the ship was a bit dinged up, both sails and hull. It was slowly getting repaired while I was exploring a new island location on the crit path, but we ran out of repair supplies before it could be fully repaired. After completing the area, we jumped in the ship and sailed back towards Neketaka. Somebody tried to engage us, but thankfully we had more speed so got away. Back in Neketaka the hull and injured crew member got auto-fixed, and we lost what would normally be the appropriate amount of repair supplies and healing equipment. Except we actually didn't have any repair supplies left, so the hull really shouldn't have been fully restored. Unfortunately yet another screenshot got buggered* with the top missing, where the repair supplies is listed. But I've attached a savegame as well, which was taken just before going to port. It reproduces on my end. https://we.tl/Goeg7zRg8x *I'm getting really fed up of this, but I don't think it's a game issue as it has happened with other games too, including the first Pillars.
  7. Just an honest mistake. Eder was smoking a bit too close to the cannons, you see. Repeatedly. Accidents happen.
  8. All I can say is that I played POE1 very differently to the rest-spammers that needed to go back to inns and re-supply. I routinely had to skip picking up camping supplies in dungeons and such because I didn't have room for more.
  9. Whatever Josh does next, and he certainly deserves a break of some sort, I hope there will be a POE3 and that it will be as good as POE2 has been. Sounds like he wants to step back, at least for a while, and do something different. For all we know, it could be very different, with hints in some talks in the back of our minds. Also, tongue-in-cheek, Tour de France is coming up. Maybe he wants to keep an eye on that instead of working 20-hour days
  10. 1 Major and 2 Moderate gains with Huana, and still no change from the +2 I already had. Looks like this is messed up now They slowed down disposition gain... maybe they slowed it down too much? Looks that way. Maybe they need to deal with the various reputations with more specific code, instead of a catch-all, which it seems like they are doing right now. The reputation has changed for me now btw, so it can still happen, but it's pretty erratic. Judging by the "wheel" and the numbers it looks like it can go fairly high too, so it's beyond odd that there should be no change from a Major gain, especially when coupled with 2 Moderates.
  11. https://imgur.com/a/JVd3FPW Thank you! That was a seriously well-hidden DLC. They like to hide the galaxy-free installers beneath 14 sub-menus too (thankfully there is a browser add-on for this). I miss the good old gog
  12. A little addendum to the above, here is a screenshot with some triumphs on a Dhow. Triumps.jpg Hahahaha. Okay, so you don't lose reputation for attacking ships. I tried to justify this with dead men tell no tales. However, this assumes that all the following keep perfectly quiet: 1) Every bounty hunter who asks you to sink a ship. 2) Your crew. 3) Your companions - some of whom are heavily biased towards factions. And on top of all this, you are now PARADING THE TRIUMPHS IN THE DOCKS? Some people have asked if they could make all the factions unite. Perhaps they could - against the Watcher :D Being the only ship afloat could be an indicator too!
  13. 1st image: "your" --> "you" 2nd image: Not really a spelling mistake as such, but an outdated description for Soulbound weapons. There is mention of weapon specialisation such as Ruffian, which was part of the first game but not the second. Maybe more bits are incorrect too.
  14. Luca has been duplicated, so I have two of him on the ship/as backup. One portrait, which is "stacked" with the number 2, like for swords and suchlike. Finished the quest in the Valiant Trading Company HQ long ago, and recently went there and talked to people, including Luca (the contract guy) He then complained about having his life ruined, and there was an option to offer him a place on my boat I did that, and he begrudgingly accepted Said he needed to fetch his things, but he just stood there Curious as always, I engaged in a new conversation with him. It had the same options, and I could offer him a position on my boat, which I did Several days later I jump in the boat to leave Neketaka. At this point I had recruited/bought a few more crew members, so didn't have room for everybody any more. But more interestingly, I noticed that Luca had been duplicated. Surely due to the double-invite earlier I can add him to the ship, and the extra Luca is in reserve. Or I can add him to different positions. Move him back to reserve, and he stacks up again: one portrait, with the number 2 in the corner, as for normal stacked items. See screenshot for proof. (Oh bugger, NOW I see the screenshot got mangled, and the most important bit is actually missing. However, he is truly doubled up)
  15. It's the exact same mace. The differences you noticed is due to attributes affecting damage and such, which only show once it's in the inventory.
  16. Maybe your over-the-top criticism in every thread I see your name wouldn't look so daft if you actually tried to play the game. The criticism isn't completely baseless ofc, the game has bugs, we all know that, but when it comes from somebody who hasn't played the game, at least the released version, you just come across as somebody with an agenda against the game. I've put 80-90 hours into the game now, and with a few exceptions, I haven't come across serious bugs. There has been the occasional CTD, the import issue, reputation, but the vast majority of reported bugs are pretty minor stuff. The game is certainly in a playable state. Sure, I too would love a perfect game without bugs, and hopefully that will be the case in a few months. It's not great that this is the situation with every major release, but it's also not easy to QA such a complex piece of software, especially on the PC market where there are such a wild diversity of hardware and software combinations. That's not to totally excuse Obsidian for the situation, but it's far from as severe as you and others are saying either, and at some point they just had to release it "into the wild". For one comparison, I had much more serious bugs with Wasteland 2, and I played it well after release, so after a series of patches had gone out.
  17. It has always been my understanding from being a (proper) beta tester on other games, that developers prefer to have one bug per thread. Don't know if that is the case here with Obsidian, but I would think it's easier to catalogue and reference that way. Descriptions would help too, though maybe you do that in the links, if these are actual videos of the issues.
  18. Decided to take pictures of this before and after picking up the reward-type item, as I've noticed the inconsistency in value from time to time. Other times the value simply isn't listed on the pop-up box, like for gems and ingredients (not always, but sometimes). Here you can see the very low value of a unique mace that I'm getting as a reward. It's probably the base value for a mace. The second image is from when I do the same right-clicking, but this time the item was in my inventory. As you can more easily see when comparing the images side-by-side, the item type isn't listed on the first picture. Sometimes this can be frustrating as it's not always obvious what type of item it is.
  19. A little addendum to the above, here is a screenshot with some triumphs on a Dhow.
  20. Especially the ship design Agree with the OP. Think they made some tough calls with this game, and most of them have paid off in making an enjoyable and versatile game.
  21. Not a big fan of how it currently works, because it means members not in the active party will very quickly lag behind in XP, and by quite a lot. However, thankfully there is a feature to help them close the gap, albeit very slowly. They get an extra 20% XP for each level they lag behind, up to a maximum of double XP. I finished some quests with Pallegina at level 1 (hadn't levelled her up) while we were 11 or so, and she got double the XP of other party members. When 1 level behind, she gets +20%. So if for instance the normal crew get 200XP for a bounty or whatever, she will get 240XP. Probably something that won't be changed, but what was nice with 'resting' crew in POE1 vs POE2, is that in the first game there were the adventures you could send them on, which helped them to stay in touch in terms of XP, especially if you sent the same 1-2 people every time. The way it works now can quickly lead to people (especially on 2nd+ playthroughs) to think: "Okay, I want this crew, so I'll get them asap so none fall behind too much", and then basically ignore the rest of the party members for the entire game.
  22. I'm surprised at all the criticism of the chip combat, but maybe I'm just part of a different generation or something. Important to point out that there are people who like the ship combat, even love it, so I don't want them to remove it or badly nerf it. Sometimes I go around on Neketaka, and then need to jump in the ship and go ship-hunting. It's one of my favourite parts of the game, and the biggest downside is that ships don't respawn. Would also be good with more fully decked ships, as it's a bit odd to see Junks with 4 of 10 cannons and suchlike. But the flipside of that is that if such a fully decked and crewed ship come after you early, if you for instance have the sloop, you stand zero chance to survive. That could be pretty frustrating, and would probably lead to more criticism than currently. I'd really love for Obsidian to make more generic ships respawn though, such as merchants and slaver ships. I'd also like to see more diversity in ship upgrades.
  23. Think they indicated early (to mid?) June. Lots of QA needed, so presumably some pretty major changes going in.
  24. You can find the code to redeem it under PoE1 in your games. Don't have anything like that under either POE1 or POE2 on GOG Is this something we should all have access to? I backed both games, although the first one was as a slacker backer directly with Obsidian. Bought WM1+WM2 the normal way, and at some point the base edition on GOG got upgraded to Ultimate or whatever it's called. No sign of any Gaun's Pledge though.
