The difference is it won't be a Magran's Fires challenge anymore. Some people have done some data mining and concluded that new achievements are coming that require having all god challenges on in a single run of the game. That would bother a lot of people if the reason they are locked out of 100% completion is something that's physically impossible for them to do.

If Xander wants some Brokeback Mountain I'm not gonna judge. -
I'm getting it too. Looks like it's the numbers for my active character's resources that are sticking around in text boxes.

Can someone comment on the spellshaping?
protopersona replied to thelee's question in Patch Beta Bugs and Support
Mainly just the ability to hit more targets, which can be substantial in some places. -
Meanwhile I'm of the mind that there's not really a point to making a diplomatic character in a game where diplomacy has such a small effect on the game. Yes resolve has some use, but not enough to make it worth bothering with even for diplomacy, since you're probably going to need to murder almost everything anyways.Well luckily for me not every shares the same simple-minded sentiment.Huh. How respectful of you. Glad you don't reflect the community as a whole.I wasnt asking his personal preference about dialogue and diplomacy. It's an RPG, conversations and resolving conflicts through nonviolence may be preferred approach. To say "why diplomacy, murder everyone?" deserves that type of respect in kind. Not sure why saying diplomacy has little mechanical value is disrespectful and deserves a disrespectful response. People play games for lots of reasons. I like puzzling out solutions personally, the story is just a nice skin over my mechanics. Doesn't make my views "simple minded," just different.

UPDATE: v3.1.0 is now available on the Beta Branch
protopersona replied to Cdiaz's question in Patch Beta Bugs and Support
But the game gives you a high five for completing the starting island, a tutorial if you will. But it won't give you a high five for truly achieving something that requires dedication? What does that tell you about the game itself, may I ask? Regardless, I don't want the game to give me a high five. I just want a confirmation that I can share with my friends and anyone else who is interested, that I have achieved something worth achieving. If for some truly absurd reason this cannot be a part of Steam achievements because some people want 100% to be a freebie, so be it. But I think there needs to be some way that the game recognizes when you've achieved something difficult and a way to share this accomplishment with other people. They could just make "Triple Crown + All God Challenges" it's own challenge entry, like Triple Crown is now. You get an indicator on that screen of what challenges you've finished. Screenshot that screen to share it with "friends" (brag to nameless followers on social media). -

Snipped quote for conciseness. You're doing a lot of cherry picking there to prove your point. That list has a few hundred checks on it. You listed what, 4-5 checks that actually meaningfully affect the game? How many of the checks on that list aren't just for flavor text? Nobody is saying that stat checks never do anything meaningful. What we are saying is if PoE was designed with the same philosophies as former Obsidian/Black Isle RPGs then the number of checks that actually affect quest outcomes and game content would be most of the checks in the game.

v3.0.0 Patch Notes
protopersona replied to David Benefield's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Announcements & News
Per social media discussion by the developers elsewhere, v20 and v21 were just a couple hot fixes. Would be nice if that info was posted here too though. I'm not interested in following any social media accounts to get official news. -
I think I would mind the narrator less if the text box wasn't at the bottom of the screen. It's like watching something in English with the English subtitles on. It distracts me from the main screen, and I have a habit of reading ahead instead of listening to the performance Maybe if there was a way for the text box to only pop up when there's a choice to be made?
