  1. If you are on iPad , and have an Internet connection on , you should automatically connect to their game server as you start the app. Should like wise be the same for android device as well.
  2. Op, if you are referring to quest mode completion upon which you get zero, gold , then it's could be a bug or a temporal disconnect from paizo/ gamecenter / play store. As I mentioned to some other poster with same issue , when I encounter that , there's no notice like in game when you get informed of disconnect and won't get the due gold. The workaround for me at the screen where you get no gold is to first back up the save folder of the game in case save file gets corrupted , and than you exit the app. Restart the game, click on quest mode and you should get back to reward screen and should see the gold reward. Hope it works for you. It works on my iPad . If your problem is pertaining story mode gold reward then refer to the above gentlemen's answer
  3. Hmm, what special are we talking about, stop with the suspense bro ! =D
  4. In case the Dev team isn't aware the vault in quest mode is somewhat buggy and doesn't display the cards we actually can get in the course of playing quest mode at each different tier. On another note, to differentiate quest mode from story mode further, I think it might be a good idea to not reveal to players the entirety of cards available to obtain at different tier in quest mode. Rather, keeps the novelty of actually finding some good cards at each tier and as they are found, the vault dynamically updates itself with a copy of that card. Do I make sense ? I'm all for the idea to revamp the decks obtainable at each tier in quest mode so they aren't exactly similar to the adventure decks so it keeps quest mode interesting beside a mindless grind. That is why I actually like it when I get the henchman from adventure pack 3 appearing in my quest mode game at tier 3 and a few other surprise find like the lizard ally card. You can even insert a tiny chance that a random scenario would generate a somewhat higher deck villain and loot card be the reward in such event. Just to keep things refreshing .
  5. Hannibal I'm not so sure if the nuances justify that many difficulty level. I'm fine with them the way it is at the moment . But since this is a digital version, like some games I'd tried , an ironman mode with ladders ranking would be great, where permadeath is on and forfeit count as death. For those keen to compete on ladder ranking of course.
  6. @delpheki the chest will not give you more copies of masterwork tool. At least not in my experience. Add on pack is the c deck with the added characters ? I think u get more mileage out of more characters to experiment with or like do pass and play with friends. Those could translate to additional gold in quest mode or campaign and before u know it you can afford a few chest @brainwave for villains hard to say for sure because I too don't pay particular attention to how often one come up. So that should mean I see the villain as a random pick from a pool of what u can access by your tier.
  7. Super tough would be for the six man team with added legendary mode add on handicaps. It's like someone said on this thread. 2 difficulty slider , one intrinsic with party makeup and size, one with the digital version difficulty mode. Both to the max for,the extremist player .
  8. They are also absent on my vault in quest mode , as I'd stated in the very first post of this thread. I understand your confusion , when I say vault, I mean gallery because I find it futile to refer to a suspiciously bugged vault in quest mode. Many of the inferences in this thread refer to the gallery proper when I use vault. But not to worry, the cards are obtainable all the same. Just don't expect many as there's only 1 or 2 of them and chest doesn't add to their number.
  9. I certain don't disagree that given the mechanic of the game ( I was surprised that blessing deck remains the same for the enlarged party size ) 6 man party will have it tougher than, say, a 2 man party in completing the same scenario. If that's something you disagree on with the design decision I take your point. But perhaps when the game designers say it's ' balanced ' even with 6 man party , it means a fair chance to complete the scenario on normal mode with some re-strategizing and different approach play to mitigate the odds working against a 6 man party? I don't play enough 6 man party in this game for an informed opinion nor do I even follow the table top version that closely. But for sake of hypothetical argument, i consider that a 6 man game have this statistic : 8 locations , a mean of 5 exploration per deck to uncover henchman or villain . That translates to an of average 40 exploration needed in a game. Given a 30 blessing deck, and an estimate of 5 boons( 2 ally, 3 blessing ) per member of team, it would seem, at least in a simplistic evaluation way, that's enough to make at least 40 exploration with some leftover for enhancing die roll on difficult or essential checks. Again it's fair and obvious that a 2 man team has greater leeway to deal with unfavorable placement of henchman or villain than 6 man team .but still, it's playable . Aren't those wild cards a product of the digital version of this game ? They are there for players who like the optional challenge . In the case of that approaching night wildcard , I personally find , as indicated in my post of my play through of a 6 man legendary scenario, it's a less a handicap than the placement of the henchman and villain. In subsequent play testing, I find that I mitigate that wildcard by focusing resources on ' burning ' the location put it in pinkrose parlance. That said, it's legendary difficulty and I have no issue in dealing with that handicap because it's expected to be tough. Super tough.
  10. Augury and masterwork tool are part of the basic deck . I haven never opened any of them from chest. There's only 2 of augury and 1 of masterwork tool in my vault and I have run across augury earlier in each of my separate quest mode play through early. Likewise, after I ditch my masterwork work tool from my wizard, I readily run into masterwork tool in game. As for staff of healing I run into it too, not very often like the kohl, given that there's only 2 of it in vault. And yes it's a non a chest card either. You could probably boost your chance to obtain certain card by salvaging chest cards that you have obtained too many copies of .
  11. Did it at third time asking. Second time I had the wildcard that reduces 5 blessing in conjunction with night approaches . Boiled down to last 2 open location and my bad luck that at the death I still didn't sight the villain at all heh. Third time lucky, I had retaliation paired with night approaches and despite merisiel goofing up her back stab on an ogre resulting in a blank slate of hand after first round , henchman didn't take too long to surface and the key as I'd always reckoned is the villain showing up early and the party winning the funnel first contact. With him funneled into 1 of 2 locations , true enough our mvp seelah ferreted him out with 10 turns remaining and all hands on deck dutiful closes out the remaining few locations that remained open as seelah laid the boss low. So looks like it can be done, luck permitting. With huge ground to cover I can't imagine if it's feasible to team up from start even with small grouping of 2. Individual hardiness will shine in soloing location at least from start and in this regard seelah, seoni merisiel and harsk in particular with his 1d4 sniping helps. Having a balanced party obviously helped with pairing the strong die attribute with the righ location. Lini pointedly struggled without a damage spell card on hand in combat and her default deck wasn't great in that sense. This episode really revamped my thinking of how larger party pay out not least in that I'd thought the blessing counter will be proportionately increased hah.
  12. Just google file manager on android. I used to use es explorer or something like that.
  13. So I saw this necro after someone pushed it up got intrigued and did my first ever 6 man freshmen party , s/l until I got that wildcard night approaches , and started off to test this out on brigandoom legendary. That's when I realize what the blessing deck count isn't even increased , to rationally account for increased party size. Never mind that I proceeded to play through, and seoni got lucky and on her second round closed her location quick and went to the next free spot. Things got even better I thought when the cleric got the boss villain on 3 or 4 cards into her location deck. Up to now not one single failed check , yes I was careful. So everyone dutifully close out their location leaving a free spot for the boss to be funneled into upon which I'll send our mvp seelah to root out as soon as someone close out the next location permanently. So I thought. Cleric lost her combat check by 1 . Despite stacking abit dice. Chaos ensued. No more henchman encountered for the rest up to 5cards deep in their respective location. The last ten rounds, everyone drained their blessings allies but the clock just ticked down . Time ran out. My conclusion was its just too luck based to succeed with any regularity and it isn't even about that night approaches wildcard. Remember I didn't fail once with boon check . Even had I not forgotten to apply harsk sniper power when pitting cleric against the villain and thus win that combat check, the placement of at least 4 henchman deep beyond the 5th card in at least 4 location will conspire to screw my game plan. But hey at least I know why everyone is discussing this now.
  14. In the other news.. I found my third fiery bolt spell after salvaging away the ridiculous amount of paralysis spell and the likes of which I have no use for in my party setup, current salvage bug notwithstanding. Discarded the spell though since ezren is overloaded with many attack spells as it is hah. Seems like there isn't a cap on how many of the same card the game permit itself to generate for you in quest mode, as I'd earlier conceived. Does anyone know if the number of the same card in the vault correspond to the max amount of that card you can have in a single party ? Ie, if vault says you have 2 holy light, and your party already has 2 or more of that card , the game will not generate any more of that card in any play through with that party. Or is the number just indicative of probability of spawning the card in any play through ?
  15. So it sounds like the table top version has no difficulty mode ? For me grinding and being rewarded with character progression and potential card beyond current content of story mode is the lure of the quest mode. The gold isn't meaningless , wherever possible without compromising speed and efficiency in completing the scenario I play in legendary. I'm well over 1000+ cards in my vault and I still seeing lots of locked cards in my vault. But I'm certainly looking forward to multiplayer mode too and seeing how it will be implemented.
  16. That didn't look so good , just like the glitch I had where I couldnt access quest mode anymore. Assuming it's not your save file being corrupted , best bet is to do as Hannibal suggested above back up your save folder, reinstall the game and copy back the save folder and see if you can load quest mode.
  17. Tested this a few time and always reproducible . I use a 2 member party seelah and ezren. Haven't yet tested in 3 or more member party. 1) seelah encounter a barrier that spawn skeleton for both members simultaneously or a scenario power that trigger the same situation. 2) in the option on whom to face off the skeleton first , seelah must be selected first. 3) when it's ezren turn to do the check roll using a spell , upon conclusion of the roll, the screen swaps back to seelah without option to activate his expanded spellbook power. Tapping back to ezren screen will not have the power button clickable . Note if ezren was selected first in 2) , he will be able to activate his power . Similarly in 1) if ezren encounter and starts off the whole chain of event , the screen that swap back to him will enable him to activate the power too.
  18. There's no notice of disconnect from paiso/ gamecenter for me either when I don't see the customary gold reward but it happens to me. Hopefully it could help with your case too
  19. I assume you meant holy light instead of divine light? But as things stand now yea the deck B and c is what you can access in terms of loot until your party hit tier 2. Perhaps they consider the combined modified database of B n C plus a few exception from other higher deck is enough for the levels from 1-20? But keep at it and you should get the deck 1 stuff at lv 20 which when it happened for me, was quite rewarding. One of the Dev ladykaieta I believe mentioned in another post that we should get xp for killing banes or defeating barriers on top of the scenario completion reward . So they may be fixing that issue . As for difficulty tier, everyone plays the game differently so just pick the mode that suits yourself which you can enjoy . The good thing with quest mode is you can repeatedly do normal and still get gold reward
  20. This may or may not be the root of your issue encountered. If it's a temporal disconnect to paise/ game centre ( on iPad) as happened to me a few times whenever you arrived at the gold reward screen and see zero gold as a reward, killing the app at that point and restarting the app and going back to quest mode will usually land you back at the screen with the gold reward popping back. At least it had always worked for me. Erring on side of caution however, whichever device you play on, each time you kill the app midway best backup a copy of the local save file just in case data gets corrupted . However each time I did that above on my iPad I continued my progress with no glitch. I'd had my save corrupted once though leaving game midway on.
  21. Some very thoughtful insightful posts in here !. Especially hawkmoon's post on ezren as an acquisition mode build. As the adventure pack 3 isn't even here I haven't been thinking about just what swipe can do but now that it's been mentioned I can see what a significant game changer it could be when paired with the Eldritch exuberance and supplementary boon acquisition allies. Although in a small team, going all out on codex and hence the speed factor might be a tad risky. As it is I'm having fun and result with a team of 2 consisting of ezren and seelah. The team is conceived on primarily survivalability and speed . Seelah as a powerhouse need no introduction I suppose. Ezren was a revelation in terms of speed clearance of location and in certain situation he had more than given seelah a run for her money. I can't wait to see what it would be like with swipe in his deck. Swipe now that I looked at it closely it's a spell that combine the power of scorching Ray and utility of a monkey ally and then some. Unless I misinterpret it that is. A short special mention to lil Lini. In terms of survivalability she has a similar mechanic on a par with seelah - that almost costless generation of an extra die for all kinds of checks. However , at least before her role progression to warden, she is hand tied somewhat with hand size of 5 which severely limit her when having to deal with multiple encounters in a turn or bring bereft of a spell card. In a small team there's only so much blessing you can churn out But in the long run though, she should comfortably shine in an adaptable role with her hand size increased. Having said all that, I think the game is easy on newcomers to the genre such as myself, and if fun is what you want to have then you could pick any selection of character you fancy and have a go at completing the contents the game has to offer. Seriously, I'd tried most of all currently available characters and each offered quite a different way to enjoy the game. The bigger the team the easier cuz seriously I doubt there is any check that a thick dollop of blessing can't get you through :D
  22. don't think there's any changes to gold reward. In story mode, your party gets gold according to the difficulty level . To redo the same scenario and still get paid so to speak, you have to try a higher difficulty . Ie, you clear scenario a on normal, you have to clear it on heroic next with same party to get gold. Unless you cleared it on legendary then henceforth you have to redo it with that same party on legendary each time to get paid. In quest mode, there's no such restriction. Each game you start you get paid according to difficulty level you select.
  23. Nice. Still to answer your question you find for most part especially in tier b and tier 1 you will find loot that belongs to deck B. The high level deck card you find early on such as this pixie is the exception. In fact most players complaints are that the loot are of lower level than their given tier.
  24. Certain locations such as academy allow you to explore again if you encounter certain card types in your first encounter. That could explain why you are given a free turn. Maybe you had just missed the description on that location ? there's no log of dice roll available right now . Personally I pay attention only to 2 numbers , the require check to beat and the flash of the result of your current roll. If I remember correct the sound effect also vary according to success or failure of the check. Can't help you on the bury interface problem. But sometimes when I can't seem to drag certain cards, redoing it slowly usually works. If the screen is frozen , or there is no go forward button on right or a cancel button on the left , restarting the app seems to resolve it
  25. Well to answer simply , yes you may come across a few cards that seem to belong in a higher 'deck' early on in quest mode. My own findings is that the database of decks as we know it from gallery or story mode vault is different from the one used in quest mode. Certain cards that belong in higher decks as we know it seem to drop in early game on quest mode and when u obtain it you can see its deck number on the card has been changed. Check if the blue pixie you obtain on quest mode has that deck no 3 on the card. I'm pretty sure it's not. Likewise, you will run across henchman villains or other boons that have a different deck number once you obtain it.
