  2. Sajan is the one I find hard to wrap my head around To be fair, he's a slow starter (not to mention a bit boring as a one-trick pony). Without a weapon and no hard bonuses to combat, he basically HAS to recharge at least two blessings to reliably kill anything. And with a starting hand of 4, this doesn't leave you much else to work with. Also, healing is not everyone's speed - certainly not mine. I now do it extensively on my solo-caster runs, out of necessity, but on my first-ever playthrough of RotR with 6 chars, I've maybe used healing once or twice in the whole game, just because I got a random Cure or something (and Kyra's 'healing' power was a huge waste of a power feat - you just can't afford to lose explores with 6 players). Basically, I prefer my characters self-sufficient and not *needing* healing in the first place, so I'd rather reserve my card slots for broader utility. (That being said, I do now have a party of 6 in Pathfinder Adventures, with Sajan within, and with couple of feats under his belt he's a perfect support - he's an opportunist that worships more than half a dozen deities, and so he always has just the *right* blessing for someone's check; and yes, he opened my eyes to the benefits of a Cure or two) Sajan is the one I find hard to wrap my head around.i agree mostly with what you said about him. I do find myself hoarding his blessing because even with a minor staff of healing it doesn't keep up, and he recharge quite the bit to reliably defeat many banes. A horde or two will ruin his hand pretty fast. And I can't go around hoping to pull healing pots every scenario. When role cards and level avail itself to developing fully in his specialized role, I might give him a spin
  3. No, if you have 2 merisiel in 2 different parties, they are a distinct copy by themselves and different from each other. Ie, what happens to merisiel A doesn't happen to merisiel B in the second party
  4. Locked out as it pressing quest mode on main screen doesn't get you back into quest mode ? Anyway check here for a similar post to yours with Dev reply
  5. Quite the extensive list there by Longshot. One question, in legendary , is chess master Amiri's upgraded move fast ability able to move companion to her regardless of the one square restriction ? Never played around with that yet
  6. From I can tell, there's no particular bias for or against boas making their grand entrance . The henchman are probably taking from a pool of henchman made available by your tier level. For instance, I could get black fang and ancient skeleton even at tier 3. Out of the numerous runs in my present 6 man teams I'd encountered boas 2 times. Coupled with the fact I'd seen boas generated with Lucrecia and other henchman, I'd say you can often not face the most extreme situation with boas. Not that I think the argument against boas is about their frequency of appearance that most players on here are objecting to.
  7. I can't argue with design intent since I won't be following their designer that closely and hadn't done so but imo I don't think a boas was placed in game as an oversight . If anything I believe it's to make it that more , well, challenging.
  8. @narkon Amiri I didn't played her all the way in quest mode but enough for me to slightly prefer her over valeros. Her monstrous strength die and with focused skill points into strength means with a good weapon she doesn't really need to throw them in combat unless it's a dire situation. And even when that happens , that's when her rage comes in. I usually do not rage her more than 5 times I think and she has that many weapon to spare to rage with just get a nice 2 handed weapon for Amiri that has a reroll property in case your dice rolls funny. She should be good to go vs most monsters. Valeros can throw weapon all day for sure, but this game is really , for the most part, about beating the minimum check not about highest max output. The other thing about rage which makes Amiri more versatile on her rampaging own is it makes non combat check easier on strength and constitution , not many but when there is, you appreciate the option to bury that extra weapon you just got back there. Her move ability allows her the ability to move to location ( adjacent ones if you play in legendary ) , pass stuff or receive stuff or get healed , and move back to her initial location without missing a turn. Watching the turn count gets more critical the larger party you adventure in
  9. Still need a dose of luck though it's after all a dice roll game . Had my second run in with 7 boas and whilst this time the villain didn't exactly pop in first round of turns for 6 guys, it did surface early enough so I didn't have to burn through 7 location to hunt it. Finished it with 9 turn remaining although seelah did cop it taking in 3 blessings in the lamashtu temple ( first time she bit the dust in my game) . In short I agree with wakasm , boa isn't broken to that extent you can't finish; and its real playable if 6 man team aren't your fancy
  10. @ it's probably just the phase of lv10-20 when you start to feel the lack of new cards as lv1-10 flies by really quickly. But in so far as dealing with the banes at lv10-20 I don't often find myself lamenting the absence of powered up cards . It's more really the absence of the novelty factor in finding new shiny for the party which I can handle. It's probably for players for whom novelty factor is a big lure that the appeal of going through lv10-20 again will be less attractive . But at lv20 things fall into place when at each tier you have a new cache of boons to look forward to as long as you are fine with the rebalanced deck( tier-1 )general rule.
  11. I don't use the flaming mace in my quest mode game, so I can't reference it accurately . But I think it should be at most part of a "deck 1" card and so you will likely be able to access it by lv 20. For now if you already have the weapon card slot on her , give her a ranged weapon that doesn't penalize for lack of proficiency and she should do fine.
  12. 1) wait for patch coming this week. But it's not retrospective so you may have to start a new character. 2) as it is, if you die you are likely to face the problem again at the crucial level up when you get feats awarded. Best wait for patch or play at your own risk
  13. The patch will be out this week so at least we shouldn't face this lock up issue any more. Have fun.
  14. Food for thought then. bit of extra firepower and extra hand size versus being charming social animal . Thanks
  15. Ah death cheating zeren, I had a record of rolling six times against him. quite the tenancious fella he is haha. As for boas, you need to really ' burn ' through the location decks should you find them in a scenario. Having certain character will help especially ezren and seelah but in general even with other party build, save those blessing and allies for exploration. Divine caster really work here with their general slots of blessing and ability to cure back the blessings and having aid etc which you use in lieu of blessing to enhance die roll. Ever had merisiel wondering what to do with her generous item slot? Whenever I find that divine candle I make sure she carries it for that rainy day. In 6 man party I had once burned through at least 75 explorations in 37 turns I think. Can be done even if odds are heavily stacked. But boas should make a nice pleasant run of game in 4 man party and less.
  16. You are right in identifying the core flaw in Lini prior to card role opening up her hand size so any drawn out battles before she can reset her cards will cause her severe problems. In my opinion in the early stage before she gets a specialized card role, it's best to hand her a weapon either from a companion or from giving her a weapon slot from her very first card feat. 1)I don't have much input here I tend to want to make Lini and my toons self sufficient in combat. I'd tried Lini with Amiri and it works well because Amiri can carry many weapon with her and if a suitable ranged weapon comes up in her hand she can easily move to Lini at end of turn, and pass her the weapon card at start of her next turn before moving back to her initial location. Handy team work. 2) load her up with as many attack divine spell as you can spare in your party. So that way before she draws out her weapon or find one, she needed go through her entire hand in combat . Yes she might often have to use her ability beast form to make the combat check in lieu of a weapon or spell and that really burn through her hand size. I keep 2 cures on her in the event I need to discard one early before she draws a weapon or for the cards she will discard due to necessity of beast form described above . Once you have a weapon slot on her, one of the best weapon you can have for her is the deathbane crossbow which you have access to. Helps a lot especially with extra die for the times when you run into undead hordes and also playing to her natural 1d6 dex so she could make combat checks without using the card burning beast form each time. For item have a protection item like amulet of life. But bare in mind with a weapon , an animal always and that ammy, she has 3/5 hand size occupied leaving little room to refresh her hand. When suitable I'd always leave her with just the weapon and the animal prior to reset. 3) weasel is found in deck B as a treasure card, buy a couple chest and you can have it
  17. For that matter I think I remembered getting the deathbane crossbow early in the lv10s in one of my play though. The big question now though is how could I have encountered a third masterwork tool when I have got 2 in party and only having 2 copies in gallery ? Can someone answer that Generally the stretch from 1-20 is where you might not find enough powered up cards in deck B + C for the somewhat long grind in levels. the downward modified card like pixie which u can access early in these levels didn't do anything for me. The game seem to pick in fun factor after 20 with new decks of card n modified henchman base. And yea, the extra character development available are a plus for me compared to story mode.
  18. Thanks for the reply. So what I understand with it is recharging or acquiring cards doesn't have trait involved even if said card has the requisite elemental or force trait. The traits only apply , in ezren case with this power, when playing the cards in combat check ? As for 2) I get it, and Ina further question on it can I assume if ezren get expertise for force, and then electricity and fire( that's 2 separate power ) using a flask of force on a lightning bolt should net him +4 on his combat arcane check ?
  19. Seems right. At 3) you already succeeded at temporarily closing the location. But because it's the henchman, you're given a proper attempt to close the location since the henchman is drawn from the location deck. Not summoned. You failed the perm closure attempt, at 5) . But it's temporarily closed at 3) therefore the game swung back to the villain as per norm. Edit : unless at 6, you mean there's other locations left unclosed and you didn't get to the screen where it shows you the spots you could choose to close. Then that could be a bug .
  20. Lol. I happened to think how early next week it can be but you beat me to posting.
  21. Does restarting the app, ensuring that on main screen upper left it says "logged into gamecenter" help resolve your issue? Sometimes it could be a temporary disconnect issue. At the end of a scenario, sometimes I do get no good reward. What I'd do is quit the app restart it and tap to go back to either quest mode or story mode. The good reward screen replays and gold is awarded. It haven't happened to me yet , that the game locks up corrupting save file due to force quitting the app, so best back up save file should you try this.
  22. Wow, that's a cool and dated reference Yaemon, quite possibly the most badass and iconic kungfu monk all these years in DnD.
  23. Something to add: I just had another masterwork tool appear for looting in my game when I already had 2 in my party. there's only 2 in gallery now I check, one each in deck b n c .now I'm led to believe that I can't get a third tool in a proper game isn't that right ? Also there's a copy of augury in deck C , making up total of 3 so that's correct. Now I still haven't encountered a second copy in game
  24. Thinking ahead to the role cards specialization, I have these questions for ezren's force expertise power 1) if he has the power "Electricity and fire expertise" activated, will it give the bonus to check on recharging and acquiring spell cards with the 2 traits. There is no mention of it specifically applying to combat check. 2) if he has the same power activated, when throwing a lightning bolt and then using a flask of fire to apply fire trait, will he get 2 or 4 bonus to his arcane check?
