And here I was comforted to hear it's only online activation, not a Steam DL or using Steamworks and planned on buying... and now it got crushed again by hearing it does use Steamworks and thus Steam's offline modus. Well, there goes my purchase. I only bought 1(!) Steamgame, and have had experience with so called offline modus. Utter crap is too kind a word, so I rather not risk it on a full-price title. Any ideas if it EVER comes out without Steam or should I just pass on it, despite my will to actually give OE my money like with AP and KOTOR2?
-
Well, I have Steam installed, never use it though. Don't want Fallout to connect to it each startup though... I keep offline when playing games.
-
Pretty sure I have seen bots with such, if not here, on other boards...
-
So, with release imminent, does it *still* require forced Steam-installation? Because if so, I guess I would have to pass up (for now).

Spambots spamming AP on AP's boards?

People use cover? (well, outside of ME2 then, that's the only game where I didn't completely disregarded implented cover systems) -

Man, was there a side-mission in S.T.A.L.K.E.R 1.0.0 that worked properly? Cause I certainly didn't find any. I suppose the bug that corpses got re-stocked when re-entering an area was nice though, never a lack of ammo/bandages and money after the first area due to that. -
I put in another 10 dollar here. Shame no-one ever goes to opt other options so we can make a fortune .

That's the last game I buy from Obsidian...

Do I hear "ME2" here? What do you think of that game game? And if you like it, why do you like it THERE. ME1 had wide planet exploration with the MAKO, and apparently people (not me) hated that, so it got "fine-tuned" into corridor shooting, and everyone praises the crap out of it now. -
Meh, it makes games boring. Instead of scraping on your health, you just sit back for a while (depending on the game) and wait for it to regenerate. No more "OMG, a room full of enemies and I only got 2HP, how am I going to do this?" feel like the good old games had. Nah. The only vehicles in online games I like are Enemy Territory (since they aren't controlled by players) and Unreal Tournament 2004 (since I can simply ignore them and blow them away with heat-seating AVril's :D).

Yeah, the second one was the one I read...

And that's an evolution instead of a devolution? Meh, I hate vehicles and rechargeable health/shields. If HALO is responsible for that ****...

Install the patch (you can find it on deadlystream, or filefront) for 1.6.

Narshadda Atton message glitch
Hassat Hunter replied to Snado's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Ah, that one... from the FAQ; Q. I am stuck on Nar Shaddaa. Visquis does not wish to contact me. A. This can be caused by several things. 1. Red Eclipse fight. This is a required event, needed to proceed. After doing this you will still not be contacted unless the Exchange has heard of you though. When in the Refugee Sector there is a Speederbike you can repair. If you use this bike to exit the Sector though you might miss the trigger that causes the Red Eclipse to spawn. To make them spawn enter the Refugee Sector and exit it again on foot... 2. The Exchange might not have noticed you. Ask the bat-like creature in the Cantina Sector what the Exchange thinks of you. If this is not enough you can pay him 2000 credits. You wan't to pay it to please the Exchange if they already like you a bit or pay him to piss of the Exchange if they already started hating you. This should be enough to make them notice you. 3. There is an issue that the call was made without actually being played if you exit the Ebon Hawk and then re-enter it right away when the call should have taken place. Usually this is notified by a clone of Atton standing outside of the Ebon Hawk. If this is happening download the KSE here and use it on your save. Change 300NAR_Visquis_Call=1 to 300NAR_Visquis_Call=0 under Globals-Booleans #3 would be for you... -

And the issue is? Not quite seeing what's the problem. -
Well, that goes without saying. I buy very few games without a price-drop. I generally play them much later than anyone else (waiting for DA gold for example, or Akhum Asylum's price to drop...) @ Tigranes: To sum it up: * Linear boring and unbalanced progression (area per area, bad itemspread, nonsencial story and sidequests all of "fetch X of Y format") * Lack of character-creation (3 spells for the entire game too) * Conversations worse than Two Worlds. So the conclusion was it's pretty avarage hack&slash due to the fighting system, but real RPG fans should seek elsewhere.

According to a gamereview I read (in a mag, not online, so more reliable) the demo-part is the best part of the game, it goes downwards from there. So I am going to wait till a few of you guys got a run and gave us your reports about the full version...

So, anyone bought it already? Did they fix the issue with spells giving major graphical artifacts all over your screen, basically meaning you can never spellcast ever on a modern PC? Because if so, it's a must buy for me...

Just adding my 2 cents here. Being a cheapskate I played both ME and ME2 way after their releases, so I already knew most people hated the MAKO and loved the HAMMERHEAD before playing either games. The question is... why? The Mako is actually a fun way to explore planets, unlike probing. It's definitely missing in ME2 with far less exploration options. The Hammerhead is just simply abhorent. The mako requires aiming, the Hammerhead holding down a button while being out of range. What the hell is the challenge in that? Well, how about instead adding horrible jumping sequences? See if we can make it worse than the rugged super-spiky level design of most MAKO maps had. And they succeeded. The bad thing about the MAKO wasn't the MAKO, but the maps it was sometimes forced to go onto. Good to know Bio can turn the horrible quality of them up a notch in ME2. I wouldn't be surprised if the ME3 "vehicle" is turned into a rail-shooter with even worse maps to support it. Actually, that sounds like an improvement over the Hammerhead. EDIT: And now I see you guys saying the same on page 6. I really shouldn't read threads inverted, should I?

Your install location (default: C:\PROGRAM FILES\LUCASARTS\SWKOTOR2).
-
You deleted all leftover files before re-installing, right? Aside from that, don't really know. It could be it already replaced a few files when you used the american 1.0b patch and that gives issues now? What version does your launcher report you have?
-
You install KotOR2 Patch v201420 UK.exe then sw_pc_uk_from201420_to211427.exe, right? At which of the 2 it does this?

You mean overpowered, right? SMG's and Shotguns could potential fall into your "weak" category.
