  1. Because they have said you will not start off as a Jedi. Unless they changed that recently. They have never said that. You are a Jedi that has lost connection with the Force.
  2. I have played the game on a 9800 Pro and an 8500....it ran fine on the 9800 Pro (My CPU is the bottleneck), and it ran ok on the 8500 with disabling some stuff. Furthermore, I have played the game 5 times, and have crashed on only two level transitions.
  3. Agreed. I lauged at the silliness of it all.
  4. You don't want to sell me death sticks. You want to go home and re-think your life.
  5. Half-Life was being considered one of the best FPS of all time long before Counterstrike or even Team Fortress Classic. I remember PC Gamer said it was the easiest Game of the Year selection they had ever done, since the entire staff felt it was (whereas usually it is hours of arguing and debating which game was game of the year). And it wasn't because of lack of quality games coming out either. Half-Life 2 has not been described as more of the same. The game is supposed to feature some of the most intuitive AI, and promises a more dynamic gaming experience than Half-Life with less scripted sequences. It also sports an intensive physics engine, and the ability to generate real time accurate lip synching. Reading as many Half-Life 2 previews from magazines and websites, not once have I seen Half-Life 2 being more of the same. Doom 3, while also having an impressive graphics engine, has not been hyped up for its "normal mapping." It has hype because it is supposed to be a story-driven (something new for Doom) game that tries to scare the **** out of you whenever it can. I do not know much about Halo 2 since I do not own an X-Box. I remember adamantly following the development of Halo, from the Macworld demonstration that just blew me away. However I feel it lost a lot of its thunder because it got delayed too long. By the time I finally played it on the PC, it certainly was not the uber-cool experience I had hoped for for so long. The game is still fun, but its monotonous level design and mediocre multiplay left me wanting more. If Halo 2 comes to the PC then I'll look into it a bit more, but right now I don't follow it too closely. However, time is starting to run short on HL2 and Doom 3. They at one time had people ooing and ahing over their graphics, but Farcry was able to beat them out with that. On a side note, a lot of people this year list Splinter Cell 3 as Game of the Show over both Halo 2 and Half-Life 2.
  6. What about the Juhani romance in KOTOR? I just finished Juhani's sidequest, and hardly consider it a romance.
  7. I generally found them to be pretty funny. The holy hand grenade BOS guys The bridgekeeper The countless The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly references. Hilarious.
  8. Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 has also blown anyone away that has actually had a chance to play it.
  9. Well...that's the difference between us then Seems like he heads up a badass group of Sith Jedi to me More like Darth Bandon, but since this has become just a matter of opinion I will concede that he could be one of the main bosses....I just don't think there is any indication that he would be.
  10. I guess that does make more sense now that I say it aloud.
  11. I own neither
  12. I'd say just like it looks: Fear-gus.
  13. hehe. I think everyone flourishes their weapon during the long trips
  14. I didn't say that they wouldn't send Sion. It says he is the leader of the Sith Assassins. That's why I think he'd be the head guy for the group of Sith Assassins. And besides, how can he be the main boss if someone else sends him after you. I would consider him to be more in line with Darth Maul or something.
  15. Ditto here. I remember getting them watching Anakin go after his mother on Tatooine when he was on the speeder when the Duel of Fates started up
  16. LOL. I never did play MGS2 (No PS2). I enjoyed the part on the boat, but I heard you play some goof named Raiden instead of Snake...sacrelige (sp?)
  17. Every member of the KOTOR 2 team will find a huge stack of paperwork with "information" about the game. Odd thing is, often the information contradicts previously stated information, so no one really knows what the heck is going on. In the end, they'll probably just put the plot points together by pulling them out of a hat
  18. Thanks Akari. I appreciate the larger resolution menu screens. Looks silly with the tiny box in the center And I can see myself putting my lightsaber away all the time, just because it is convenient
  19. Meh...probably even in Stage 4. I think that may be why I always tend to fall asleep when I watch TV...I'm already half-way there :D Or maybe my brain just wants more stimulation
  20. Duel of Fates is fantastic....as is the Imperial March
  21. I agree, I haven't considered a CRPG to be difficult ever since I matured enough to be able to put some useful thought into them. Not that I mind......getting stuck because I die all the time to a boss or something is generally just frustrating. RPGs are like interactive stories....and I hate it when a story has the protagonist die and reload 20 times in a row....waste of paper.
  22. I learned in my Psychology class that your brain is much more active while sleeping than watching TV
  23. How the heck can you read that into it? Yoda and Mace were virtual peers as far as I can tell. They discussed things all the time in the first two movies. Yoda wasn't referring to Mace, but all the Jedi.
  24. I thought the fight looked goofy and out of place. Considering everyone in the theater was laughing at it when it happened I think pretty much says it all. Darth Maul's fight was the best IMO, but Luke had two good one's with Vader that seemed more emotional than any of the new trilogy's fights.
  25. There was a skateboard mode in Metal Gear Solid?
