  1. I think Obi-Wan baited him personally. I got the impression that for the most part, he went their to destroy Vader. And once seeing him burning and sliding towards the lava, it would be a safe assumption that he would not live. Slaughtering Vader in his state because Obi-Wan was angry at Vader destroying his friend Anakin would probably have more darkside influence than leaving him to die. There was nothing that was going to stop his death (except the outside influence from Palpatine, whom Obi-Wan did not anticipate arriving).
  2. I heard the idea that the young kid would be Robin too. As far as things go, I suppose it would make sense. He believes in Batman and believes he fights for what is right. Given that Batman was there for him during the chaos in the Narrows, I wouldn't be surprised if he had some sort of heroic idolation towards Batman (I would!).
  3. I usually don't see any corruption until maybe twenty shields (but I think more), and even then it's 1 It might have something to do with my Nation. I almost always play as the Germans.
  4. Actually, I think Democracy offers the least amount of corruption. The distance from your palace/forbidden palace makes a HUGE impact however.
  5. Why wouldn't it tie into Obi-Wan's character? This beast named "Vader" has occupied the shell of Anakin. Plus, Anakin is helpless. Is it the Jedi way to kill helpless people :D j/k
  6. I wonder if Obi-Wan also had a hint of satisfaction seeing Anakin suffer. Anakin's turn to the darkside seemed to have extreme emotional effects on Obi-Wan, and a little bit of him may not have cared if Vader's last moments were in intense pain. Also, if I were Obi-Wan I wouldn't have expected Sidious to sense Vader in trouble light years away. Vader's death was all but a certainty. He was probably optimistic that Yoda was able to take care of Sidious too!
  7. Fair Enough. I liked it because all that time spent not researching other stuff is nullified right away. Keep in mind you only get stuff from the Great Library if you actually have contact with 3 separate civs. If you have contact with all the civs, then you'll pretty much get every tech that has been researched up until that point. One time I jumped right into the next age because of the Great Library. It's also nice for the culture bonus, so I usually try to put it in a place that I want huge culture from. The corruption may be higher, but some quick restructuring of your palace/forbidden palace can make things take care of themselves. I usually have no real problems trying to manage corruption until I get faaaaaaaar away from my core cities.
  8. I certainly don't understand why people complained that his turn was so sudden. Especially with his hostile attitude towards Obi-Wan in Episode 2, and the anger/rage towards the Sand People as well. I also liked how Obi-Wan accepted the responsibility of Anakin's turn at the end of Episode 3. I even sort of got the idea that he was hoping against hope to "talk some sense" into Anakin in the few parts that they were talking during their final duel. Yoda also makes references to the fact that the Jedi Council has grown arrogant, and perhaps does not always do things as well as it could. As for Yoda's discussion with Anakin about his dreams about Padme, I didn't mind that scene either. He says to not mourn those that become one with the force. The lesson itself was a good one...it just wasn't what Anakin wanted to hear so he ignored it. Although I'm curious what Anakin was expecting when consulting Yoda about his dreams.
  9. Where was it shown that bullets had to have been shot from several directions? I'm curious which of the three gunshots required the shot to be from a different direction?
  10. I liked the change to the Great Wall. You still needed to build the town walls to get the bonus, but you got a good bonus for using it. If I could make contact with 3 civs, I would make a mad dash for the Great Library. Having it meant I got any tech known by those 3 other civs immediately, for free! I make a change to Monarchy as fast as I can too. I don't like Republic, as it doesn't have the huge bonuses of Democracy, and has war weariness. Monarchy lets me finally use MONEY to hurry production (instead of citizens), and of course removes all tile penalties that Despotism has. And Calax...how do you have war weariness so early in the game? Do you switch to Republic? Try switching to Monarchy, and war weariness is a problem of the past. Monarchy = the conqueror's government.
  11. I'm curious though at what point a bullet must have turned around to hit someone?????
  12. I think it makes Anakin's Fall more sympathetic in the released version, rather than having Mace come to whup-azz on both of them.
  13. Thus beginning the trilogy of trilogies! I bow before Beast British!
  14. That's what I thought. Because it had Olaf from the Lost Vikings as a hidden character
  15. And while the spearman beating tank IS annoying, you can't fault Civ3 for that....it's been a problem in all the Civ games, including Alpha Centauri. The worst was the first one though, as there was no concept of unit strength. Just like that, BAM, that militia guy has taken out my Battleship. The first thing I usually do is upgrade the attack/defense values of units with the scenario editor in Civ3, to hopefully keep those to a minimum.
  16. Blame the axing off of the love interest at the beginning of the Bourne Supremacy on the fact that the first one didn't follow the book very well, and she doesn't even exist in the novel version of Bourne Supremacy. I liked both of the Bourne movies personally, and I wait with high anticipation for the third one.
  17. Hadoo-ooken! Hadoo-ooken! I can still hear Ryu saying it!
  18. That reminds me of my first time playing BF1942. It was on the Iwo Jima map, and I was a newb that had somehow gotten control of the Prince of Wales Battleship. I was shooting the crap out of everything with my shore bombardments and having an absolute blast. I then saw a golden opportunity of about 8 guys running down a hill, so I fired my 6 14" cannons at them, at which point I teamkilled pretty much my entire team. Turns out we had captured the hill. After that, we lost the hill, and pretty much got raped. I can take full responsibility for my actions.....I cost us the map :D I also remember one time playing the D-Day map, some guy had parked the destroyer FAR away from the beach, and I didn't like that. The artillery support is very helpful, and much easier when it's close and you can see where you're shooting, so I started moving the destroyer. Turns out I accidentally beached it way on the left side of the map, so it DEFINITELY wasn't useful anymore. Right about the time when ALL of the allied players were asking around for who the heck did that, I figured it was a good time for me to slink away and never return to that server :D As for being kickbanned......I only had it happen once in BFV. And it's because my friend and I absolutely raped with helicopters. It got so easy that we would always play as the NVA so that we had to steal the enemy helicopters first. But once we did, wooooweee....it was fun. We had it planned perfectly on Flaming Dart. I had just taken out the South Vietnamese airfield, and I stole their last F4. This let me take out those pesky Cobras, as well napalm the helicopter spawn campers as my friend waited nearby. He had damaged the control tower, and when I felt like the Cobra was going to spawn soon, I bailed out (crashing plane into tower for additional damage) and capped me an M60 (back when it was the cutting beam of doom!). But not before I blew up the control tower and not before my friend ganked the cobra that respawned. Since I took out both towers, there was absolutely nothing they could do to shoot down the cobra. We then proceeded to cap ALL the flags that we didn't have, AND take out any futile landing parties they were sending across the river. And this was on a clan server, while playing against the host clan, so it was very satisfying. However, when we went to cap the last flag, we both suddenly died, and they stole our cobra (considering it was impossible to kill the pilot inside a helo without taking out the helo). We then quickly shot it down and still won, but we were laughing hard at the clan cheating And on the next map, we both jumped into each MiG, flew to the enemy airfield, at which point we immeidately stole their cobra and F4 (I think the team was retarded), and then were raping the map. Anything that could hurt the cobra got shot down by me...and anything that moved on the ground was owned by my friend in the cobra. Next thing we know, we were both banned at the same time. Never laughed so hard in my life
  19. The Police Quest games were gun, as were Space Quest. The King's Quests games I hadn't played however (did play some of the Quest for Glories...I sucked at them at the time though).
  20. I hope you read the whole thread Ender....it's quite entertaining!
  21. As in if Yoda had a mad ankle-breaking crossover? I dunno.....Sidious does look like he has weak ankles. And Yoda's Vertical is pretty impressive.
  22. Currently reinstalled my old close Combat Games (II and IV since they have a dynamic campagin). Things going fairly well, despite some extra resistance up north. Not that the fights were hard for the 1st SS Panzer Div, but the silly allies just wouldn't give up. But I'm about at Bastogne, as well as securing the roads to the North and South of it. Hopefully that 101st doesn't rear it's ugly head
  23. I guess I should have posted a more complete quote:
