Oooo. *grabs popcorn* I missed most of the game (my friend took me to see a movie for my birthday....Hills Have Eyes.....he's lucky he's still my friend ), but it sounded like Peca had a monster of a game. He absolutely annihilated Kesler on one play.
  3. I agree that that is a poor analogy. Turn based games are hardly exempt from the "spam lots of units to overwhelm your opponent" game style. Civ 4 shows this quite well.
  4. Well, spore will have procedural animations, though I suspect they won't be very diverse for each particular species. Not sure if that would be good enough for this chap.
  5. A little off topic, how did I get the nickname Jimmy?
  6. I wonder how long it will be before PS3 games start taking advantage of that hard drive " <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What does that have to do with anything ? With a 60 GB HD digital download of games are not as unrealistic as with a 20GB HD. But that's not the point I was making anyway. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm talking about patching.

At least we showed up to the recent game.
  8. That's just unfortunate circumstance. I consider his death to be the goofy, slapstick "toilet humour" of the show. Hayes is no longer a part of it, so they found a way to right him out in a ridiculous way.
  9. I was hoping for some excellent Star Wars goodness. I didn't mind the demo.... Fortunately I wasn't the one that bought the game.
  10. I wonder if there is inherent concessions made when designing physics for an MMO...
  11. And a big **** you to him and scientology, but ya, still a tribute <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, they explicitly said that they shouldn't blame Chef, but that "silly little club he joined." It's during the Eulogy! :D
  12. The Phantom Menace was hideous.
  13. Ah yes. I got a laugh out of that. I actually didn't have that happen until my third playthrough...a refreshing surprise
  14. At 50 hours, I don't think you're really giving up on a game... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, if he didn't finish the main quest, I guess you could argue he gave up on it.

  16. But did you not just define it by saying that it is undefined? Similarly, there is the word 'indescribable'. To attribute the word 'indescribable' to anything that actually is indescribable makes that thing describable; you just described it. Indescribable is a paradox then. Unless you accept that it is merely not able to be described by human means. In that case, the word isn't describing the 'indescribable thing' as much as it is describing humanity's own lack of ability to describe the 'indescribable thing'. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, saying that it's undefined is not defining it. It's undefined because there's no real value for it. Just like x/0. There's no real value for it, so it's undefined. If you take some calculus, you'll find graphs that have breaks in them, where the limit from above is different than the limit from below. Since there is no single value for that limit specifically, it's undefined. To be honest, I don't think it can be compared to indescribable at all.
  17. I'm not so sure. I have yet to play a game with AGEIA physics which really wowed me. It just seemed to be "okay, so enemies ragdoll less than realistically." You can't drag them, or even bump into them. *Shrugs* It is possible that games aren't taking advantage of all its features, but that could be because the features themselves suck. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I haven't read up about the card a whole lot, but the little bit that I am makes it sound like it's a physics accelerator, much like a graphics accelerator. I'm not sure how it would do ragdoll physics differently than the software version of a game...or why it would either. Awesome 3D graphics cards don't stop a game that has ugly graphics from being ugly, or sloppy code from being slow.
  18. Well, in a hot topic like that I can understand.
  19. I think the intelligence of a show like South Park is severely understated. They poke fun at current events like no tomorrow. As for them picking sides, for the most part they pick on both sides quite a bit. Maybe it's because it has a longer length, but the South Park movie (as well as Team America) definitely fall into this category.
  20. Oblivion certainly is a nice looking game. Even on the less than amazing settings (which doesn't surprise me either).
  21. Well, mid 90s seems a little early. That was still the end of the Genesis run. They still released the DC in 2000. The DC didn't do as well as they thought, so they dropped hardware support and became a software only company.

You must live in some exceptionally religious neighbourhood Hades. I've had my doorbell rung once in 15 years.
