  1. Cool. I never would have expected Call of Duty to be available via Steam.
  2. Speaking of emoticons, aren't we supposed to have some new ones?
  3. Indeed we did enjoy HotU. Drow rule supreme. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I knew it! You're a Hades Alt! I am teh bestest detective!!! Move over Lou Gutman. EDIT: Oh wait, I forgot: "It's Hammertime!"
  4. I am then immediately reminded of the movie Airplane!
  5. I made the playoffs for the second consecutive year, once again going 14-2-0. Unfortunately for Dallas, we played them in the last game of the season and Drew Bledsoe was hurt for 4 weeks. THat's gotta suck going into the first week of the playoffs. I also broke Peyton Manning's TD record of 49 by one, getting the elusive 50. It wasn't really supposed to happen, but after Bledsoe got hurt, some people were taking liberties with Santana Moss, and he ended up missing a bit of the game. Feeling it was retribution for the Bledsoe injury, my QB felt it prudent to try to embarass the Cowboys for their final game. He was much more aggressive in the passing department, which resulted in 2 INT and more incompletions, and he got his lowest QB rating of 102. He fell 200 yards short of his NFL record 5200 pass season, getting a shade below 5000. While he did have a 500 yard game once last season, he was just steady and consistent this season, typically getting 300-350 yards a game. He has also been named MVP for the second consecutive year. Though mad props has to be given to Moss, Lloyd, Randel El, and rookie TE Steve Hayden (who finally learned how to catch a football by midseason), for making some impressive catches. And Clinton Portis....what a machine! He's been solid, rushing for over 100 yards in all but the last game. He's also a solid contributor to the passing game, typically getting 1-5 yard sideline passes, and turning them into 20+ yard gains. And third year FB Cooley is also playing awesome. The Redskins have an excellent team, and they are a force to be reckoned with. Soon we will start the playoffs, and I'm hoping for some big success there again. The real fun should start next season though, as my QB will undoubtedly want a raise from the 1.8 million rookie contract he has had so far. Though he's enjoyed Washington and would like to remain with the team. Given his franchise QB status, I'm sure they wouldn't mind him back either.

I dropped Torres for him after a couple of days. I did some research on him and he could be one of those sleeper picks.
  7. I know what Microsoft Works is. How is it different than Office though, which is a suite of packages that includes Word as well. It's been a while since I used Works (High School). I vaguely remember some drawing programs...or maybe that was ClarisWorks for the Mac.
  8. I'd be careful saying stuff like this. You might make some scientists angry. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How so? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because science is not just statistics. Especially when the term statistics by itself generally refers to descriptive statistics, as well as probability theory. Statistics is exceptionally common in the social sciences. Despite the social sciences' best efforts to be recognized as scientific, there is still way too much introspection into those statistics that the social sciences will probably always have the stigma of never truly being scientific. It's very easy to generate statistics, even with proper standard deviations, expected values, and variability taken into account. But that doesn't necessarily mean you can conclude anything about those statistics.
  9. My QB is now a franchise QB, with a ranking of 96. As a rookie he was able to have the cinderella season of all cinderella seasons, and lead his team to a Super Bowl championship upsetting the Pittsburgh Steelers in a fantastic game. His Redskins got off to a slow start the next season, though my QB is having a much better season. His TD:Int ratio is significantly better, and he has a QB rating of 125 right now (next closest is Manning with 110, and third place has like 95). He had one game where he through for 6 TDs and over 450 yards. However, we lost some good players in the off season. Fauria was an excellent TE, and rookie Steve Hayden is struggling in his place. He has been dropping more passes than Fauria did. Moss and Randel El are both playing fantastic though. They have fantastic physical abilities and are able to consistently get open. As a result, my QB has a pass completion percent of 70% and an average of 12 yard per catch. Despite losing the first two games though, we have bounced back with 6 straight and hope to secure a playoff spot in the next couple of weeks.

  11. You forget what you post? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Did you actually read what you quoted? These two posts do NOT contradict each other.
  12. I love the smell of ROFL in the morning.
  13. How exactly did Microsoft alter read only media to be uninstallable? Or did you have to validate it online? Also, what version of Microsoft Works was it? I didn't know they still made Microsoft Works, but rather referred to it as Microsoft Office.
  14. Not really, because it seems as though we aren't talking about the same thing. I'm not talking about the "Iraq Body Count" website or whatever, but rather your comment about: "And since they only count bodies (how stupid is that)" Given the bouncing around between capitalization of "Iraq Body Count" being referred to as "Iraq body count," I'm not really sure when people are talking about the website or if they are talking about the actual body count of Iraqi people. I would never dispute that Iraq Body Count could be wrong. I was curious why counting the number of dead bodies is a "stupid" form of assessing casualties. I know it wouldn't be accurate, but at least it wouldn't be purely guessing.
  15. No need for an expansion to do that. Now, if they included the rest of the world in an expansion, I'd be able to go discovering, Portugal style. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I had heard that the expansion will cover it much more in depth, and be the focus of the game. The new world part of MTW2 is pretty small.
  16. I remember one time on a mission, I had hid all the people I knoced out uber good. Then all of a sudden while I'm sneaking, "You set of the alarm!" What the heck? Then I found all that AI guards don't really check areas you've been through, just that at a certain mission point the computer kind of scans the area. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, the first two were bad for that. If you didn't hide someone in a completely hidden place, when you crossed over a magical line, they body would be discovered. They got rid of this problem in the 3rd one.
  17. You didn't really clarify things. What exactly is the body count? It seems to me to be counting the number of people that have died. But you say that it doesn't count the number of people that have died. So what exactly does the body count count (and please don't say bodies).

To be fair, I think the PK was putting itself in a position to fail. Two 5 on 3s against a team I expect to have a fantastic powerplay, it's not really surprising that 3 of their goals were on the PP. And Gionta's game makes it what, 3 natural hat tricks in a single evening of hockey. Two in one game, and one in 2 minutes!

My roommate has Ryan Smyth and Peter Sykora. At least Hemsky scored. Gionta also got a hat trick. And Manny get the W in OT!
  20. Err, I am kind of confused, but how else do you determine the number of people dead, if counting the number of people that have died is "stupid." It's a lower estimate (since people have probably died that you didn't see), but anything higher than that is just guessing.

Some people were trying to tell me on Hockey's Future that Ryan Smyth isn't a #1 LW.
  22. I've heard that the expansion for MTW2 will be about discovering the New World.
