Transcript of Putin's conversation with reporters today
-
Ukrainian service men attempt to return to airfield to work. Turned aside, return peacefully to barracks. According to the article, warning shots were also fired, though no injuries occurred.

Finished up Shadowrun. Said "Screw sleep" and stayed up too late playing South Park which was a very fun time! It did save me when I had a minor quibble with the tutorial that required a reload. I'm pretty sure you can still make your own saves too (I did "Save Game" when I called it a night and picked a slot)
-
Pfft, I didn't need to split my team B-) Though I did consider it haha. I think I got the last one at 9 turns.
-
Agreed. Finished 'er up last night and was very satisfied with the ending.

It's a constant risk though. Analogies to 1930s Europe seem appropriate enough. If people keep pushing... I'm sure Germany didn't expect the UK and France to feel that Poland was worth meddling with either. But they had a treaty which brought them into the war when they decided to honor it.
-
I think the situation is complicated by the fact that there are treaties involved, however.

Well, you'll get situations like the claims that http://www.gsa.uk.com/news/girls-can-do-well-in-maths-and-physics/]Girls School Association indicates that girls in all girls schools tend to pick more STEM classes than in mixed schools (not sure if this is accurate. It just seems to be their claim). Coupled with over-representation in receiving the top marks in those classes, it may be an indicator that social factors can influence whether or not a girl enrolls in those types of classes. Barring any sort of sampling bias that may exist between those that attend an all girls school, and those that don't. There may be costs to putting them in an all girls school as well, though (unsurprisingly) a link from a site for all girls school doesn't mention anything like that so I have no real visibility and have to get back to insuring no more than 2.43 bugs make it into DAI!

I'll bring the soda pop if you let me have some of that!

I found this link interesting, if it's true. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2570335/Former-British-Ambassador-Moscow-warns-Russia-invaded-Ukraine-difficult-avoid-going-war.html (apologies if this has been brought up already)

At this point probably 2 or 3 bugs!

Really enjoying the story in the second one. I think they did a much better job in allowing a bit more character driven campaign. I have to beat this on Monday for South Park....
-
So your position is that those weapons should be illegal simply because they always have been, and that guns should be legal because they have been? Wouldn't this indicate a strong amount of faith on your part that the government was right in the first place (and unquestioningly so)?
-
Yeah, it really seems like it's a situation of being able to focus on the content aspects rather than pipelines/infrastructure and so forth.
-
I saw someone use the response "those are ordinance, not arms, and there's a difference" which made me chuckle.
-
I'm really enjoying Dragonfall as well!

Spill your blasphemous opinions on CRPGs here
alanschu replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Computer and Console
Dude..... again no need to get defensive in the "Spill your blasphemous opinions" thread.... We could all come up with responses too all of these posts. Unless you're suggesting that YOUR post is the blasphemous one... -
This is not true at all, the effectiveness of a tool depends on the situation, the circumstances and the environment. Weapons are no different. Things like concealability, remote control of a weapon and those kind of things have to be considered. This happened at an airport so maybe there is a reason why knives were used. About the ease of use of guns, knives are FAR easier to use. Also its always hard to spot the attackers when knives are used in a crowd, the ensuing chaos and the small size of the weapon gives them a certain amount of concealment so they can do a LOT of damage before they can be identified and stopped. Ehhhh, when someone uses the term "generally speaking," I think it's safe to say they're referring to a wide case of situations. A knife my, in a particular situation, be a better choice than a fire arm. But there's a reason why armed forces and police services and the like are armed with firearms and not knives. I disagree with the notion that a gun is not more lethal and more effective at killing people, generally speaking.

Op-Ed: Bethesda, Obsidian, and $6 Million for a New Fallout
alanschu replied to DrQuickbeam's topic in Obsidian General
I doubt that that's the case. First person perspective may let you save on asset creation because the camera's viewpoint may mean you can skip out on things like rooftops and the like. But I wouldn't say that a top down perspective would be more intensive. Depending on draw distance, it could be less intensive. -
That's fine, but got myself I imagine when I'm done the beginning area in Arizona I'll just want to keep chomping at it
-
Yeah, I barely even read the updates they send out to avoid spoilers.

Hahahahaa. Basketball was definitely my preferred sport. Was my outlet after my brother's accident, and then I just kinda fell in love. That love appears to have returned

This has (hopefully) already been addressed, but then please ignore him and move on. When I think someone is just being a troll, it's what I do and it spares everyone any sort of constant derailment. And while I once thought that it was irresponsible to ignore trolls lest they spread their lies... I realized that that perspective maybe just isn't an accurate one. Tell you what, I will even state that I believe you and that you're the victim here. That whole post though is a part of the problem and there's no need to attempt to discredit him to win any arguments or anything. Thank you. Apologies for off topic and extra apologies if you've already done so, but I'm catching up and reading through all of this stuff and I'd much rather not filter through all of this nonsense when trying to find the actual discussion. Thank you.

Welcome to game development! And I mean that with a heavy dose of empathy. It's hella frustrating for developers too.

I actually don't mind watching a solid defensive set. Though I don't care as much for "defensive" teams that employ clock management to mitigate opponent opportunities (like Cleveland in the mid 1990s. I found that very boring). My rec league played today and while I didn't score a ton (I normally score between 10-20 depending on how well a team can guard inside. Tonight I think I got 8 ), I did like being able to try out some of the stuff I was watching of the Dream teaching Lebron haha. I haven't played post since Grade 9 (1996....), but I'm the only person with reasonable size on the team that doesn't mind playing post. Caught a ball on a flash to the elbow, squared up with a sweep, and quickly took one dribble to the middle and split through two defenders on the 2-3 zone. Definitely a play where I was like "hells yes that was precisely what I meant to do and that felt awesome" hahaha. My favourite play was still when I ended up double clutching with a left handed reverse layup as I rolled into the key from the low post, last week. Was an And One too, though as cool as it was for that play to fall I can recognize that it was probably a large degree of luck lol.
