  1. Yeah, i still do not like Wizards that much. But Chanters are even worse - at least for me. You do not have to win all boarding fights - sinking them with your cannons is all it needs. With reloads several class combos should be able to do this but the dream would be to do a full naked TCS run once all DLC´s are out. Still a long way to go. And more than enough options to get all the metagame knowledge that will be needed even though my playing time is heavily restricted. We will see!
  2. Same here... CON 3 is indeed a bit over the top. Got one-shoted several times now. No, no... no! Maybe this Ghost Heart/Priest of Magran will work better: STR: 14 CON: 10 DEX: 15 PER: 16 INT: 20 RES: 3 I tried out Death Godlike but was missing my passive heals right from the start. Better to howl at the moon again... BtW: I thought Boreal Dwarves only get the chance to graze against Wilders or Primordials? Wasnt the +15 ACC from PoE 1?
  3. Moon Godlike is a built in constitution bonus and has done me well in the past. I agree that it should be higher - at least for TCS. Reent had finished his naked run in PoE 1 with PER 3 which also looked crazy but - okay - he was "only" a chanter. However: If the build is not working i can reroll it anytime soon. The starting region however was easy like never. Fan of Flames + Pet + Mark + punching with 18-25 damage fists on flanked enemies was easy going. With the pistol (and some more spell options) things should get even easier - no? We will see! Ah, hello Dr <3! Also still around here? Nice! Maybe you wanna try Monk/Wizard yourself? *cough* P.S. Grimoires are NOT allowed. This is a naked challenge. The only exceptions can be found in the OP.
  4. If the armor (e.g. dancer outfit) is only for aethetical porpuse (no AR or any other bonus) then its okay for me! Drugs are not allowed as well as any other consumables except for the one you can use when resting. I am a really bad guy no? Okay i rolled a Moon Godlike Ghost Heart/Priest of Magran - say hello to Mizhena: STR: 18 CON: 3 DEX: 16 PER: 18 INT: 20 RES: 3 Pretty much as much min/max as you can go. Thanks to the pet and her healing options (plus Hyleas resting bonus) this should be enough. Even more as this one will be "only" a pure PotD run. TC will have to wait until i get more confident with the build (and have collected more metagame knowledge). Anyway: Good luck to Dorftek whatever your final choice will be!
  5. As i already played a Ghost Heart/Shifter (losing him to an ambush in the DLC) i might give the Ghost Heart/Priest of Magran a try. Cool range weapon plus safety button should make this a "smoot run". Max Perception, Intellect and Strength sounds like a plan. Anything else than Moon Godlike here? I still dont like Humans...
  6. Hmmmm.... without armor and the lacking deflection we will eat tons of damage (+30% from penetration and +50% from crits). Wont this be a problem for the Streetfighter/Devoted at least in group fights?
  7. Yeah, i was also thinking about Ghost Heart/Priest of Magran. In theory this sounds pretty powerful. Anyone willing to try this out here?
  8. Naked also means "no weapon" @mant2si. But spells or fists will do the job. Well - most of the time. Druids especially Shifters are a nice way to get around this problem. Not to mention Monks. Even Monastic Unarmed Training isnt that bad at all no?
  9. Okay i am done with this Triple Crown crap for now dying to bad luck, bugs(!) or losing save games due to crashes. This is no fun anymore... Will restart soon with something new. What about a Priest of Berath? Sounds cool @Dorftek - i am curious what your choice will be! To tone down Chanters a bit i added the following rule: "Chanters are not allowed to use invisibility (Smoke Veil etc.) Too harsh or good enough for balancing them?
  10. Boarding fights are a real terror in this challenge... lost another level 11 Shifter/Trickster cause the guns missed all day long while the enemy just rushed into our ship. Everyone jumped on me draining the HP in seconds rom 100 to 0. I hate this... P.S. The missing Guardian must be a bug...
  11. Hah, i knew this would come @mant2si. But as i exclude Chanters from this challenge (at least for me) i am eager to read if there is anything else than Chanter/XXX.
  12. Some of you might remember me from the good old Level-1-Noober-Challenge or the Naked-Challenge in PoE 1 so a warm "hello again" to all stumbling into this post! First i must admit that i love PoE 2 after starting it two weeks ago but - on the same hand - it starts to bore me again and again so i did not completed a single run even though i have created dozens of characters now - mostly using TCS settings. I started the game completly blind using Monks and Druids as i played them the most in PoE 1. The problem was: They lacked the easy escape buttons and died many times due to ambushes or bad luck (yeah, lack of metagame knowledge here!). I then started switching to priest and rogue multiclass. Hellwalker/Priest of Skaen was fun, my current Shifter/Trickster even more. Concepts of a Paladin/Trickster also sound very promising. However. My question to the community is: What do you think is the most capable class to beat PoE 2 (plus DLC) using the following rules: 1. Complete the game without wearing any armor, boots, gloves, helmets, or accessories in combat. 2. Path of the Damned or Triple Crown Solo. 3. No Berath Blessings. 4. No retraining. 5. Upscaling for all enemies. 6. Collect all bounties. 7. Finish the main game plus the DLC´s. 8. Chanters are banned. 9. No AI scripts. 10. Difficulty increasing Mods like Deadly Deadfire are optional but highly welcome - your choice! There are only a couple of execptions to play through the game: 1. You may use things like Camping Supply, Lock Pick, Hook, Prybar, Hammer and Chisel, Rope and Grapling Hook. 2. You may use plot/quest items for their plot/quest purposes. 3. You may use gold for quests, resting or visiting brothels. 4. You may use gold to build up your ship. As i personally play only using Triple Crown settings i have died many times running into unknown territory AND lacking the easy escape options (Withdraw, Smoke Veil, Shadowing Beyond...). Splittpulling still works but seems to be much harder than in PoE 1 as enemies tend to follow forever if you cant outrun them. Is there a way around? Another major concern is the fight against the Guardian of Ukaizo. Will any naked character stand a chance here? I know that the battle can be skipped using invisibility but somehow that feels lame. Is there a way to "talk him down"? However: Before tiping too much nonsense i am eager to read about your ideas. Thanks! P.S. Maybe @Reent will wake up again playing another Chanter?
  13. Druids are pretty powerful in BG able to beat the whole saga solo + no reload + SCS + Ascension + LoB. We even managed to get deep into ToB with a naked Totemic Druid (even no potions or scrolls allowed) using the rules mentioned before. Powerword: Summons!
  14. After leaving all of the BG crazyness i switched to PoE 2 trying to find a new challenge. But after some days of planning and playing i am really irritated: Can it be that you can do a Triple-Crown-Solo-Naked-No-Rest-Diplomacy run by speedrunning using just Shadowing Beyond to skip even the final battle? This is... hmmmm... interesting.
  15. You can do the same with Spiritshift Armor (with free armor slot). Each transformation creates another one with 8 + 1 AR per 5 levels (10 + 1 AR for bear) . The best: It does not slow recovery speed. Monks or Rogues should love this. Too bad i already told the devs about this bug. Or is it a feature?
  16. Thats really interesting as i am already playing a naked solo char at the moment - more or less blind. Very funny! Oh please Obsidian... add my good old Level-1-Noober-Challenge as well. "What about now?"
  17. Is it intended that the Spiritshift Armor remains even after shifting back to human form? After removing it the next Spiritshift creates another one so i already had a collection of countless spiritshift armors. Too bad they are worth only 0 gold.
  18. Hello! So far i am really enjoying the game but - damn it - i am stuck. Whenever i enter the Arena Sub-Level from the Digsite the game loads & loads & loads but nothing happens after reaching a black screen where i can see only the mouse cursor. Even after ten minutes of waiting: Nothing more. I tried it a dozens times now always with the same result... P.S. I never had loading problems before... any clues? Thanks!
  19. There is another way that is easy as well as cheesy - at least it worked pretty well on my level-1-run some time ago. 1. Summon the Animat as far away from the stairs as possible 2. Let it soak all engagement so you have time for shooting 3. Kill one Phantom with one or two Arbalest shots 4. Retreat out of vision and wait for combat to end 5. Rest and repeat until all enemies are dead If they havent changed the encounter - or the AI - it should still work. Even with a Barbarian.
  20. Heretically spoken i would say: XP doesnt matter - at least for the vanilla game. Yes this involves heavy cheese - which you dislike. But at the end a solo level 1 char will be enough to beat PotD. If you plan to play legit things will look different but thats not my part of the story.
  21. The rules of the Ascetic Monk allow you to drink potions and use summons or scrolls - its not a strict no-items-at-all-run. This should make things much easier. Havent played the game for some time. If you are not sure about Enervating Blows: Look at your stats and your average crit chance. Its synergy with Force of Anguish is very nice!
  22. Sanatorium: Skip it until later or - even easier - just run to the exit while using summons as decoy. You can now either move on or use your superior positioning for splitpulling. The Forgotten at the bridge: With summons and lvl 10+ you can split them. Force of Anguish (and potions) are your best friend here. Should be no real problem. But you are right: Battles in close rooms are hardest. If summons + CC + Potions do not get you through: Come back later. And never forget: You dont have to kill everything!
  23. I have played Druids so often but still have no use for this spell. Relentless Storm is superior in most cases even Twin Stones works great in tight corridors. You might combine it with spells like Autums Decay and Insect Swarm so you can watch the numbers ticking but most of the time there is just one DoT to conquer them all: Rot Skull. This spell is amazing. Boost your attack speed and watch even tough Ogres going down in seconds. I love this spell... The Guide is outdated but i hope that i can update it in the next weeks after i have done a complete TCS-Druid-Run.
