  1. Who needs protection if the enemies are proned, stunned, petrified? CC -> Spiritshift -> Victory. Works pretty well in most cases even when naked.
  2. Chanter feels like a snow avalanche. Small and weak at the beginning but once its starts rolling it gets unstoppable. I think the real problems for both - Chanter and Druid - might start somewhere in WM 1. This will get interesting! Thelynn´ss has finished Act 2 and is not far away from level 9. Hopefully i will find some time tomorrow. We will see!
  3. This sounds not like fun to me... oh dear. The Druid can be played in so many ways that it really hurts to read this...
  4. Oh dear. If i read all of this Reent it feels like: No - i will never ever play a Chanter. And you really said you have no patience?
  5. I got a question: How is the Wildstrike Damage calculated when taking the Heart of the Storm? Wildstrike 30% + Greater Wildstrike 15% + Heart of the Storm 20 % = 65 % Or is it only 45 % * 1,2 = 54 % Thanks!
  6. Then play Druid - its your choice! The 2nd group (the one at the stairs) is not that easy too - at least Noober had some problems there. Hopefully you can kite them down somehow!
  7. Yeah, this looks great. Its similar to the naked Druid i use atm for our new challenge. Even when naked and solo Res 3 doesnt hurt that much as i thought it would be. Keep howling!
  8. A short summary of the main quests in Act 2 that Thelynn´ss has done. Sanatorium: Thanks to several Tanglefoot casted BEFORE you talk to Mordred and a Blight Decoy it only took a handful of tries to run through the enemy lines and escape. Cliaban Rilag: This area is not that hard but it took some time to bring the enemies down. Nothing special just cautious kiting and Spiritshift Hacking. Heritage Hill: Much easier than expected. Splittpulling the guards in front of the tower while destroying the ones inside with heavy CC and Spiritshift. I must admit that after playing Noober this feels too easy. The greatest danger atm is being careless and overestimating the Druids power. I will write all this down in more detail once i start the Pastebin-Walkthrough. If there are any questions: Feel free to ask!
  9. Hhhmmm... ok. This means that we can conclude so far: Druid is much faster with regard to killing speed than the Chanter. Will this change later once you got Dragon Slash? In the long run the potential of the Chanter could be higher. We will see. Good luck with Heritage Hill Reent. Or better: A lot patience!
  10. Okay - now it gets crazy. Thelynn´ss cleared the Lighthouse at level 8. Never thought that would be possible. Getting the +15 Accuracy Resting Bonus was a boon. The trick was: Run to the niche -> cast a HoT for the first frost bolt -> let them cluster -> Crushing Wave -> Twin Stones (!) If you see multiple Shadows casting Frost Bolt: Beetle Shell -> this will negate all the damage! Proceed with the Crushing Wave -> Twin Stones Combo Heal in between if needed but concentrate on damage as your healthbar will get critical at some point When Crushing Wave is no longer availabe its very important who is attacking you: If its a lesser Shadow -> Keep on casting Talons Reach + Autums Decay into the backline If its a higher Shadow or a Ghost -> Switch to enraged Catform and claw them down At the end it will be a race of who goes down faster. Good luck!! Side Note: The last Ghost killed me three times (!) with his death explosion.... AAAAAAH!!!
  11. Yeah, good job on that one Andrea! Its nice to see this section to be updated. Maybe we should rename it to "Game of Boeroer" - or something like that.
  12. Thelynn´ss is ravaging through Act 2 now. Did is said ravaging? Yes i did. Because something is terribly "wrong" with Spirishifting. The damage numbers are purely insane and in enraged Catform there is absolutely no recovery bar just hacking, hacking, hacking. I tried 1vs1 against Darguls and - yes - they get obliterated. Thanks to splittpulling and CC the challenge so far is a walk in the park. Okay not totally as there are still some quests that are too hard (e.g. the lighthouse). If everything works fine Act 3 should be in reach soon!
  13. I don't understand how you guys do it....I just now went to Maerwald on my solo Rogue lvl 4. Wearing Berathian priest robe and one handed stiletto for speed and accuracy. I was struggling I have to admit even with potions! First try Maerwald went down easy, only to realize I had a Pierce weapon in both weapon sets so I couldn't touch the blight. Second try my pathing was bad so the blight caught me with disengage just before Maerwald hobbled me. Third try Maerwald went raging on the beetles when I pressed shadowing beyond... LOL, so I was victorious because of LUCK! Anyway, challenges are fun but I'm definitely not ready for your naked run on POTD yet for sure, hell I haven't even finished the game yet even once! Edit: my Rogue is a dwarf.. I probably should have used moon godlike. But I really dislike the look of them Well, there is no simple answer: Its a combination of knowing what challenges the game will throw at you and especially exploiting any weaknesses of the AI. To make it short: The AI in PoE really isnt that great or otherwise Noober would have failed horribly. Take a closer look at the detailed walkthrough and you will get it. Or even better: Try different things on your own. Sometimes you will be surprised what can be done. Even after playing the game for a long time now i still find new small tricks or learn from the others. Not to forget: Patience, patience, patience! And some heavy love for the challenge. And the pain!
  14. Maerwald is down - that was easy. Immobilize the Blights with Winter Wind -> Dance around Maerwalds Spells -> Debuff & Damage him with Sun Beam + Talons Reach -> Rush in with Enraged Catform -> Over! I updated the Rules Section to make things a bit clearer. I will be out for a while - good luck everyone!
  15. If you like to play Chanter Raven: Go, go, go! TCS feels impossible as death lurks around every corner. I would not recommend it but: Its your choice! EDIT: A Video would be awesome Raven - i still prefer writing!
  16. I am short of time but: Thelynn´ss destroyed the Phantoms and Shadows after several tries. The tactic is quite simple: Once the battle started -> Run downstairs into one of the niches -> immediately summon a Blight. Thanks to Fast Runner you will get enough time so that the Blight blocks the Phantoms and sometimes even the first Shadow. If you get lucky it will be a "Wind Blight" that is immune to the Frost Damage of Phantoms and Shadows. Once the Wind Blight is out you have ~20 seconds to win the fight. Thanks to the +10 Accuracy Resting Bonus you should hit the enemies quite regulary - your spell rotation should be: Sun Beam (blinding!!!) -> Talons Reach Spam till the end. If anyone survives this: Follow up with Autums Decay. The DoT will tick even if you get stunned by a Phantom. This works great IF you get a Wind Blight. Otherwise you are doomed so thats the reason why i would not recommend it for an Iron Run! I dont know if i can play on much in the next days - too much work! If anyone likes to join the challenge - feel free to do so! A Wizard or a Monk would be great. Good Luck!
  17. Thelynn´ss has almost reached level 4. So far most things arent very different from other Druid runs - you just have to be a bit more careful. Well - its late here too. After some rest Caed Nua will be the next - and so far most critical - target. The Spiritshift is quite powerful so i will maybe push it further with talents. Together with heavy CC this will melt enemies in 1vs1 situations very quickly. Splitpulling for victory! Thelynn´ss has already a strategy in mind for the phantoms. It should work nicely - at least in theory - but its definitely not viable for Iron Man. We will see if she can pull it off. I am very interested in how your Chanter is going through Heritage Hill Reent as the tower is not a really good place for kiting and the Darguls in there are tough to take down. I will try to write down Thelynn´ss progress in detail after some sleep and put it into another Pastebin. Thats it for now - Good Night!
  18. Potions, food buffs & scrolls are NOT allowed. Only basic things like lockpicks, hooks, rope - everything else would be too easy no?
  19. Okay, no problems so far. Clearing the Bear Cave still works great at level 3 even without items. Just the usual Charm Beast -> Sun Beam -> Talons Reach -> Spirithift Cheese. Hah! Once Thelynn´ss reaches level 4 she will head to Caed Nua and see what she can do against the Phantoms...
  20. Thelynn´ss is ready for the challenge - lets go! Class: Druid Race: Moon Godlike Spiritform: Cat MIGHT 15 CON 10 DEX 15 PER 16 INT 19 RES 3 I like balanced Chars. Dropping Res will hurt a bit but Noober is the shining light that convinced me to keep it that way - hopefully i wont regret it. Unlike Reent´s Chanter my Druid has to push Per or otherwise he will miss too much of his spells. Con 10 is a compromise but i hope that the Druids CC power will keep most damage away later on. We will see! Not to forget: The Main focus will be Survival. Pushing it to 10 (+2 Movement Speed and +15 Accuracy) will be a gamebreaker later on. Rest will go - as usual - to Mechanic i think.
  21. Very cool stuff Reent. Thats something i always found fascinating when playing ultimate challenges: You will - and have to - find new ways and strategies to get through. Never thought that circling could work in Caed Nua - at least not with other classes. Well done!! As is never played Chanter i am asking myself: How on earth did you damage and kill the Phantoms and Shadows? With Come, Come Soft Winds of Death? Sorry for my ignorance! I will start the Druid soon. Will be interesting to see how tough Caed Nua will be for him without items!
  22. Wow! 3 Per looks crazy but maybe a Chanter can live with that. For Druid i will have to find another way - think, think, think....
  23. Yes, high Perception is key for Druid. Dextery 10 could be okay because you are not slowed by any Armor. Intelligence max will be a boon too. This could lead to the question if you should prefer pushing Might or Dex.... hmmmmm.... Very cool Reent - what Stats have you chosen for your Chanter?
  24. Maxing Res? I would leave it at 10 or even drop it - at least for Druid. Later on most enemies will hit you anyway without items. High Int will be key i think. Hhmmm.. so many options! Noober survived with Res 3 but - okay - he had summons and good old bear all day long.
