*Nods* It is meantioned several times in both games that the Jedi council didn't act, it was a group of Jedi who followed Revan that took part in the war. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And...your point is Darth Mortis? Oh and DeathScepter, the Jedi Council said they would have eventually acted. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Aye. The Jedi would have stepped in when the time was right. What kept them from doing this, was that Revan jumped the gun and thus forced the council to hold back in order to preserve the Jedi. You can look at this whole thing a few different ways, but I think the message here is that it would have been better for young "booksmarts" Reven to hold back and wait for the "old geezers" to say it was time to go. As always, there is a lot more to any picture than any one person can see by himself. Reven thought he was an exception to this rule, and that is why he fell. If he had waited he would have gone to war with the council's blessing, and he would have saved the Republic from a whole lot of suffering down the road. Reven may have prevented the deaths of millions by acting, but he caused many many more billions to die because he fell. With him fell Malak and many other Jedi, thus causing the domino effect which led up to the Exile's adventure in Kotor 2. Listen to the Council next time Reven!

And forgive this double posting, but yes, I hate violet too. I just dont consider it the WORST color, but I never use it either. -
Worst Lightsaber Color
Benjamin Korr replied to Darth Rexon's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I give mine the Orange/Bronze vote. Every other color seems to simbolize something in a Jedi/Stih's life. But these two colors just, well, I can't think of any meaning behind them. I mean, silver could mean pure of heart, viridian I would expect to be wielded by an aged and extremely wise Jedi Consular, but I can't think of a purpose behind Orange or Bronze. -
do i need an agp graphics card?

The Jedi Council is here to serve. May your travels through the world of KOTOR2 be safe and prosperous. May the light side of the force guide your every step along the way. Safe journeys traveller. -
There will be a Kotor 3, that much is doubtless. (Short of a world-wide disaster or something) The only question is: When? The only answer is... The end of 07/beginning of 08. ^_^

What's so bad about the dark side anyway?
Benjamin Korr replied to Deadly_Nightshade's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well what Kyle said isnt exactly right. It's called the Potentium herasy. Kyle was a good Jedi and all, but he was a little off when he said this. That was his view on the darkside. Maybe he could resist the corruption better than others could. But the fact of the matter is, if you tap into the darkside for your power, you've given a little ground to it. And once you start to give ground, it becomes easier and easier to continue down its path. -
Well in all fairness the Kotor 3 thread is overflowing with people making suggestions about what the next release should be about. Nothing wrong with that, except that almost every post gets mixed in with the rest. So it's really hard to dig anything out of there. All he wants to know is if anyone's heard anything concerning if Kotor 3 will be released soon.

Whos YOUR favorite baddie in SW?
Benjamin Korr replied to ThEvIlLiAgEiDiOt's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Gonna have to give it to Vader. But I have to admit, Kreia was a VERY good Sith. (And I use the word "good" loosely) -
Which Trilogy do you prefer?
Benjamin Korr replied to ThEvIlLiAgEiDiOt's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
This one's tough. I think I liked the OT better, but the PT definately has it's good points. For instance, OT has better imagination and plot to it, but PT has better saber duels and some pretty cool scenes like the opening the Eps 1. So yeah, gonna give it to OT, but thats not to say I dont like PT. -

What's so bad about the dark side anyway?
Benjamin Korr replied to Deadly_Nightshade's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You contridict yourself mate. Is there any "VISABLE" light??? What difference does it make if it's visable or not? Is the force visable? No. Dark=evil Light=good Where you are getting confused is that no SW character ever fully reaches the extreme of one side or the other, and so sometimes you see a bad character do something not so sinister, or a good character something not so good. There may not be any perfect example of the two sides, but the sides themselves are as different as night and day. -
I made my name as part of a role playing community which I have since left. However, the character was rather special to me, and so I continue to use the name Benjamin Korr, or Captain Korr, in a lot of forums and games.

What's so bad about the dark side anyway?
Benjamin Korr replied to Deadly_Nightshade's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
well spoken <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sounded like a lot of gobbledegook to me, but whatever. I see what you're saying anyhow, but I still think that there was a very simple basis for all this laid out early in SW's life, and it's gotten distorted over the years. Kinda makes you wonder if the dark side hasnt tainted your minds to think this way and thus rule the universe! Hahahah, dont worry, I'm still here to make sure that doesnt happen. lol -

What's so bad about the dark side anyway?
Benjamin Korr replied to Deadly_Nightshade's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
So you are saying that if say Master Vrook knew how to drain life from an entire planet, then he is evil? Like I've said, no force power is inherently light or dark. What if Vrook decides to never use that power? Or what if he uses it for good intentions or only uses it when the justification for the use of that power is reasonable? For example, would Revan be considered as evil if he drained the life out of someone who burnt his house down, pissed on the ashes, killed his parents and raped Bastila? I wouldn't blame Revan for slowly torturing the scumbag to death, and then finishing him off by slowly devouring his life in a scenario like that. Would you? The Jedi are retards. If someone uses force lightning, then to the Jedi, they're instantly bad, when that is not always the case. What if someone used force crush to crush a can of cool drink once they've finished it? Are they evil? The Jedi shouldn't avoid using the dark side all together, as their would be benefits to using it. What the Jedi should of taught their students was how to use the dark side responsibly. How to not abuse it, to not treat it like a toy, kind of like with a car. But in the end, Xard is right. Star Wars is a fictional fairytale world where the DS = evil and the LS = good. It's pretty stupid how it's portrayed that way, but Star Wars has always been simple, black and white and cartoonish. In K3, I'd like to see DS'ders who are 'good' and LS'ders who are 'evil', just to show that you can use LS powers for evil intentions and you can use DS powers for good intentions. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well heres the thing. No, it wouldnt be bad for a Jedi to crush a coke can when he finished with it. Thats not the problem. Where the evil comes in is that, the only way for a Jedi to use force lightning is to have some level of apptitude with the dark side. Visa-ve, if he is dark side enough to use lightning, he's probobly dark enough that he'll have a hard time resisting the temptations of the dark side. Thus the Jedi feel it is best just to leave dark sided powers alone. -
What's so bad about the dark side anyway?
Benjamin Korr replied to Deadly_Nightshade's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Right there you should see how stupid your argument is. You think Palpy was gonna tell Anakin how bad the Dark Side is in hopes of winning him over? Duh. No he wasnt going to tell him the truth, he was going to tell him something that SOUNDED like the truth, or at least something that would give Anakin an excuse from the real truth. Dark side = evil. Light side = good. End of story. What you just described is called the "Potentium Heresy". Aka: The belief that there is no light or dark, it's how you interpet it personally. Aka: Bologna. There is a light side, and there is a dark side. The two oppose each other constantly, each trying to gain the upper hand. Of course if you'd like to debate further, by all means, go for it. -Benjamin Korr, still standing in the light. -
some of us gamers happen to be human, too. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is the one part of your post that makes me a little concerned.

Need info on Revan's combat style
Benjamin Korr replied to Zann's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Hmm, maybe Makashi, but I'm wondering if it wasnt something like a mix of Makashi and Juyo. I see what you mean by Makashi, but his moves werent quite as tight and fencing like as Makashi is. Dont know for sure, but if I had to guess that would be it. Makashi and Juyo mixed. -
I liked the Ossus robes in K2. It's been a while since I've played, can you get the Quel-Droma robes? Or is that only in K1?

One of three people. Kyle Katarn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, or my own little addition to the SW universe, Jedi Master Benjamin Korr. But to appriciate the third one you'd have to know the story. ^_^ Edit: Oh yeah, Kavar would be fine too.

Weakest of them all
Benjamin Korr replied to Darth Exordiom's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I must disagree with you m'lady. Dooku's Makashi was very impressive I thought. That old-fashioned style that never quite goes out of style. He may have run from Yoda, but then what Sith wouldnt? I mean, even Palpy tryed to run from him. And sure he got beat by Anakin, but Anakin was pretty powerful at that point. So you're judging his abilities against the two most powerful Jedi of his day. Had he fought a lesser Jedi he undoubtedly would have won. Darth Maul beat Qui-Gon sure. He had him cornered where he couldnt use his lightsaber style effectively, and Qui-Gon was more of a diplomat then a fighter anyway. Maul had lots of saber talent, but as to his power in the force, I would say Dooku would have fried him to a crisp had they fought. So me, I'm voting that Darth Maul was the weakest of the listed. Yay, so he beat a diplomat Jedi and nearly beat his padawan. Only to be caught off guard and get sliced in two. Not real impessive from my standpoint. I guarentee Dooku stood a better chance against Anakin or Yoda then Maul would have. If Yoda had been the one to face Maul... well.... I think you see where I'm going lol. Edit: Oh and for the record, I dont see what Grevious has to do with anything. He was neither Jedi nor Sith. Might as well throw Han Solo in there as well if you're gonna count Grevious. He swung lightsabers, nice. So did Han lol. And they both had just as much force adaptness as the other. -
Hate to say, but it might even be a physical flaw in your video card. But thats just a guess, and if you've got no other problems with other games then thats probobly not the case.

My vote goes to Kreia. No other Sith in the series seemed to have the deep understanding of the dark side that she did. She was the manipulative puppet string puller of the whole act. One's power cant be fully measured by sheer power in the force (though she had plenty of that) but by how they use it.
