  1. Well, as soon as I get my laptop issues solved I think I will also start a thread. I am still not sure what game I will choose, Fallout 3 was one of the main contenders but I'll do another one if CrashGirl is doing that, or how I am going to run it (id est with feedback and commentary or just commentary).
  2. Name: Adolf Regan de Marx 1) - C. Information is paramount to the success of our new nation and thus I will be revoking any and all censorship laws. 2) - B. Yes Commands -errr, I mean fellow citizens-, we should do away with the elite class and re-distribute their monies! 3) - C. If we do not appease the poor and undereducated masses they shall rise up and lop off our heads!
  3. I am also going to install Linux and use it for schoolwork (writing essays etc) but need to figure out how to get my internal wireless card working under that OS before I install it.
  4. It's not; in fact they're really quite tame compared to the review's description.
  5. Nice, very nice. I'll have to give it a try now.
  6. And my laptop's harddrive went kaput today... Oh well, I guess that means I'll be off to pick up another one tonight...
  7. Sigh... I applied to about ten job openings to supplement my income... Hopefully one or more actually contacts me...
  8. Yes, but I'm not going to take the time to type them up at the moment - maybe tomorrow.
  9. This had already been posted and, frankly, I think it's not a very good review.
  10. And I would call both of those crap even if they were the first games in the series.
  11. Velvet Assassin - good game but hard... And I'm only in the beginning levels.
  12. Here's a screen showing the "upgrade" portion of the game*: *You gain XP by discovering secrets.
  13. Alexander is the weakest of the Rome games and really doesn't add that much, I'd go with the regular Gold pack.
  14. Well here's a quick summary so far: The Good: +Plays well on older systems +Interesting Story (so far; the opening was great as was the first level) +Once you re-map a few things the controls are not that bad +The killing moves are cool +The Nazis are Nazis even though it's a German game +Looks decent +Combat is challenging The Bad: -You cannot save -The default controls can be annoying -Feels like a game that was ported to Steam at the last moment -Steam is required -The killing moves can sometimes be finicky
  15. Killing Floor is one Co-op game that you might want to look into as it's about to come out.
  16. Well I have my copy and I am installing it via Steam (it turns out that the retail version is still linked to Steam unless you're from Russia and then it has Starforce) and will have the first impressions up soon.
  17. There is actually a mod that will enable the console via an item, although I cannot recall the name.
  18. Oh yes, because I'll be willing to spend my money twenty-times for the same thing. Well... In some rare cases I might do this -I have, in fact, bought Fallout and Fallout II multiple times- but the majority of games are not worth the added price. It does if you do not want to support the "rental" system.
  19. No, but I do buy games and wonder if I will still be able to play them in ten years. In fact, I've got some things that are that old, or older, sitting right here and, guess what, I can still play them.
