  1. Thank you. Very nice. But what does the cape's Mystical Celerity do? So I guess Infuse Vital Essence is basically warranted.
  2. @mosspit does damage reduction multiplicative (or at least work same as armor reduction) ? Seems like it is additive (ergo not that bad) I would imagine the effects of this is a much weaker start. Later levels will have more bonuses rolling in so the effects will be less pronounced.
  3. It is too drastic. But there is chance of reducing the impact before public release (they lessen the impact for Rooting Pain's 25% to become 33% during public release). Beta usually will overtune things. It is as though to justify the efforts to even look at them in the first place
  4. I need to head off but I will do the screenshots when I'm available if no one has post them by that time.
  5. Feel free to discuss. I originally wanted to do a write-up of the new items, but we definitely can talk about the nerfs and buffs. And yes nerfs to Full Attack. I just continuing my playthrough with Ydwin. Chose Finishing Blow on her and I tried it with the nerf. At level 9 and un-upgraded Finishing Blow, the dmg is significantly lower. I almost don't even feel the difference from attacking normally hahaha Can't seem to change the Title to reflect the expansion on the discussion though... oh well...
  6. v2.1 gave some pretty nifty items so I figured we are going to discuss about them anways. Did some very basic testing. Amra (Unique Battleaxe) Upgrade Paths Seems like Obs really is going for Two Handing batteaxes which are generically One handers Frenzy proc and the AoE gives other characters a pseudo Barabarian feel The AoE attack seems weird. I tried on a Pally/Rogue multclass and it seems to work, but I can't seem get the AoE to proc on a Monk (tried to see interaction with Stunning Surge) The AoE is slash type which is different from Carnage which is Raw (I think) When it did work, I noticed that the primary target get damaged twice. From the primary attack and the AoE dmg. This double dipping seems unintentional Shroud of Phantasm (Cape) Found in Bekarna's Observatory (hidden object as a pile of books at the intersection, need 16 PER) Another source of the powerful Brilliance Inspiration (1% on dmg trigger though...) Strong for a frontliner tank, or a class with self damage Also suited for a Spellcaster. A Wizard can potentially use DAoM to trigger Brilliance through self dmg Harmony (Ring) Good for a tank I guess? Can add +2 RES under the stated conditionsKaraboru (Greatsword) Upgrade Paths Doesn't seem exciting. A 33% Cone AoE proc on Crit seems ok-ishOutworn Buckler (Small Shield) Upgrade Paths Pretty modest effects when compared with its PoE1 version AoE hostile effects reduction and Fire AR seems ok. Nothing spectacuar A 1% trigger on dmg effect (Doesn't seem exciting, but I guess works with SI?) The Mung Bean's Mouth Organ (Neck) Nothing much to say... good for a Naplazca I guessCog of Cohh (Neck) A neck accessory that was not covered within the patch notes Can be found in the same room as the Giant Grub in the Old City Ruins with a PER Check of 15 (hidden in the western part of the room) Based on description it is probably to give martial classes some needed oomph Not a bad accessory, especially if there's no good way to apply Aware on self within a given party Might not be mind blowing, but it is still is one of those "on kill" effects. So it works with killing of own summons (tested) Magran's Blessing (Medium Shield) Upgrade Paths A medium shield that was not covered within the patch notes (highlighted by Eraflure) Found in a weapon stand by the central torch at Temple of Magran in Sacred Stairs Bashing Shield No Transcedence Suffering bonus unlike Tuotilo's Palm Fire Shield will trigger automatically on combat start Stacks with Flame Shield (separate dmg instances. +15 Cold AR) Fire Shield will disappear on weapon swap. So no shenanigans here Zahndethus’s Dragon Sealed Grimoire (Grimoire) Jernaugh’s Careful Calamities (Grimoire)
  7. I also like DoAM or Fleet Foot to hasten her actions for faster attacks or casting. And I am sure I can find spell interactions with Driving Flight for her as well. Only thing is that her int is kinda low. When I tried to do AoE targeting, the "friendly" zone tend to be quite small unless her Int is somehow intentionally raised.
  8. First is getting the portraits you want. Refer to the running thread Portraits ?? You basically need 4 images and you need to save them as filename_convo.png (watercolor 90 x 141) filename_si.png (watercolor 76 x 96) filename_sm.png (normal 76 x 96) filename_lg.png (normal 210 x 330) Navigate to the following path (where your steam apps reside) Example F:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Pillars of Eternity II\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\gui\portraits\player\male F:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Pillars of Eternity II\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\gui\portraits\player\female Copy and paste the images there and you can use them ingame.
  9. So far so good. Still playing it as MC. Got all Rekvu stuff at lvl 8, now at lvl 10. Once I'm done with that playtrough I will post a build description. Hahaha nice! Looking forward to your insights. Started mine too and seems interesting so far for a first time Warlock. Seems that your rate progress is quite similar to mine. Hopefully I can squeeze in some game time this weekend heh
  10. Most of the companions are not bad and are definitely viable. Only thing is no flexibility in selecting their subclasses. Otherwise no issues. Except for Serafen's Cipher subclass. For me, Wild Mind is extremely annoying.
  11. For Rekvu Scorched cape, you can see some of the test result from this post. Self inflicted Combusting Wounds is quite potent. Just ignore the part where Wall of Fire can trigger the self inflicted CW hits - somehow it doesn't work that way. @Boeroer: How is the Son of Rekvu build coming along?
  12. In terms practicality, aim for 4-5 engagements. Anything more than that and it basically wasted especially in a party setting as you can't really engage more than those numbers on a consistent basis. Also Might resistance and immunity is desirable. I personally enjoy using Eder as a swashbuckler with WotEP with Riposte and using Nomad's Brigandine . He's got enough recovery from Armoured Recovery, and Falcon's Helm and Pet Bonus to offset Heavy Armour penalties. And the added deflection from WotEP and Nomad's help to proc Offensive Parry and Riposte.
  13. So that necklace works? I was testing it during v2.0.0 with a build that kills itself (Godhammer plate, Vengeful Defeat, Cloak of the Falling Star, Twin Eels with low Religion so to Revival and get killed in quick sucession). I had my MC wear that necklace but it seems that I didn't get the stacking bonus. However, he was stealthed at another place in the corner of the map so that might be it. Edit: Well apparently it works now. Getting the bonuses from downed allies. Out of curiosity, what necklace were you referring to? Neriscyrlas's Hope
  14. I'm planning on running a Brute. I wanted to use armor rating to tank hits if possible. Is that a good build or should I just go pure Barbarian? It's good. Don't worry about it. I was just stating a scenario if you are a pure barb. Brute can deal with low Deflection due to low RES nicely with Unbending. Crits or not, you still are able to heal back the dmg dealt to your character in general.
  15. Yeah, after a certain point all incoming weapon attacks will crit anyways if your deflection is low enough. So might as well just tank it further. If you are using pure barb, you can get Barbaric Retaliation which will increase your dps by quite a bit due to the incoming crits.
  16. I would imagine this will work nicely with the Lord of Imps build. With that amount of Zeal, maybe even those costly Exhortations might be would using. But FoD spam alone will already be wothwhile for me. Nice find as usual
  17. Agreed. For martial classes, there seems to be an unspoken standard that tier 8-9 abilities in general are designed to have higher cost with somewhat more desirable effects. PL scaling and cost effectiveness of lower tier abilities (as mentioned) is one thing. Another is that unlike casters, using higher tier abilities compete with resources so blowing resources early with high tier abilities lead to just auto-attacking for the later half of the encounter.
  18. It is Obs prerogative to change up the skills. But they are known to do pretty massive revamp of classes in the past. For both nerfs and buffs. Case in point would be Rangers in PoE1 where the pets were initially hopeless but later on were buffed to the levels where pets builds were viable (or even strong) in later patches.
  19. @OP Patch v1.2 changed most (if not all) wizards to prioritize Arcane Dampener in fights. I believe I also experienced some that can cast multiple times in the same fight. It might be special circumstance where only wizards do this, but there are are enough wizards in encounters throughout the game that it can be considered as quite a common occurrence. Like it or not there are some healing effects that are definitely much more effective than others. Unbending is one. Barring Death's Door and Salvation of Time will also completely remove the need for healing. For me, it is mainly because those abilities were just ported over to Deadfire from PoE1 without much thought of the new context. In any case, if they are too powerful you can choose to avoid using them? After all, not everything has too be completely and utterly balanced. Where is the (subjective) fun in that?
  20. Wild mind is just bad. If you wanna use him as a Cipher, try to cast the spell away from the party. Even that, he can make the enemies invisble or some other bad outcomes. Or be open to reload when he wipes your party. I used him as a witch in an Ironman playthrough. Never again....
  21. I think Crowns of the Faithful is a little too ineffective as compared to its PoE1 incarnation. To me, I would rather change the inspirations it bestow to Tier 2. Or give additional Mind or Body resistances to the party for the buff duration.
  22. For Adra Dragon, you can just outlevel the content. It was meant for the vanilla game capped at level 12. But with WM2 and the raise of the cap to 16, it is much more manageable. Still susceptible to Scrolls of Paralysis. Llenegrath-wise, it has been a while. But I think a Cipher is great for the encounter. Defensive Mindweb and Time Parasite is crazy good. Plus the dragons is susceptible to Mind Control (One is immune to Charmed and another is immune to Dominated. But they are not immune to both). Also Priest as Crowns of the Faithful is just amazing.
