Mod Release: Trinkets Unbound
DOWNLOAD FROM THE NEXUS _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Ain't no one gonna tell you what you can and can't do with quest items! This is a simple mod that allows you to sell, destroy, and freely use equippable quest items. Before, you had to keep equippable quest items in an active party member's inventory or have them actively equipped. When party members with these items weren't in the active party, the item would automatically go to the stash- and you would have to re-equip the item. With this mod, that is no longer needed! _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Items Affected: _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Installation: Download the .zip file of your choice and extract the contained folder to your override folder. The override folder is typically located at: \Pillars of Eternity II\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\override _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Compatibility: This mod should work with all versions of Pillars of Eternity 2 and it's expansions. This mod should be compatible with any other mod except anything that modifies the EquippableGameData ItemComponent of "IsQuestItem" of the items listed above. No Strings were used in the creation of this mod. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Version History: 1.0 - Innitial Release _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Tools Used: Visual Studio Code JSON Tools by Erik Lynd Markdown _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Like my mod? StringTable Best Practice
Prince of Lies replied to Kyberus's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire: Modding (Spoiler Warning!)It's always good to document what strings you use or modify ; that way other mod authors can work to make their mods more compatible. This is some more general info.

Mod Release: Prettier Stalking Cloak
DOWNLOAD FROM THE NEXUS _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Sick of having a gross looking, low quality, brown and blue cloak? Look no further! Ajamuut's Stalking Cloak is one of the best cloaks in the game, but seems to use a low resolution texture from a cloak in the original Pillars of Eternity. This mod changes the model, texture, inventory icon, and item icon to make it more appealing. The mod comes in two flavors: Normal - Replaces the appearance of Ajamuut's Stalking Cloak with that of the Champions Cloak (Requires Seeker, Slayer, Survivor) Vanilla - Replaces the appearance of Ajamuut's Stalking Cloak with that of the Dark Gray Cloak (Compatible with everything) _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Installation: Download the .zip file of your choice and extract the contained folder to your override folder. The override folder is typically located at: \Pillars of Eternity II\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\override _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Compatibility: Seeker, Slayer, Survivor is required for the normal version of this mod. If you do not have Seeker, Slayer, Survivor installed, you can use the Vanilla version instead. This mod should be compatible with any other mod except anything that modifies the EquippableGameData ItemComponents of "IconTextureSmall` and "IconTextureLarge", or the EquippableComponent of `ModelVisualDataPath" of Ajamuut's Stalking Cloak. What would you like for an hypotetical PoE3?
Prince of Lies replied to juanval's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I think it would be great to have the Watcher be the antagonist for PoE 3. See how the Watcher's decisions in the previous games affect the world from a different perspective.

Best weapons in PoE 2
Prince of Lies replied to msyoung's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)I'd say Modwyr, but then I'd be unoriginal. So I'll say Pukestabber because my character is a raging alcoholic.

New Ship Combat UI
Prince of Lies replied to Prince of Lies's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Yeah, it doesn't look like it will change ship combat itself, but I (hopefully) may be wrong.

New Ship Combat UI
Prince of Lies replied to Prince of Lies's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Yeah, Shoulda verified in my post- It was part of the patch that got rolled back with the turn-based combat update.

New Ship Combat UI
I saw this on reddit last night. It looks like they are re-vamping ship combat: So apparently you can: 1) Board for no damage. 2) Enter ship combat as per the norm. 3) Intimidate to gain money/resources without combat. 4) Parley to try and get ships to stop attacking you without combat. Looks pretty snazzy. I hope they will fix ship combat to avoid loosing some unique items if you choose to not board. EDIT: It appears that this was part of the patch that got rolled back that also included turn-based combat.

TURN BASED combat in Deadfire?!
Prince of Lies replied to Silvaren's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I'm going to go off on a limb and say that they will probably make it incompatible with Magran's Challenge or possibly Magran's Fires in general. Still a cool feature, though.

TURN BASED combat in Deadfire?!
Prince of Lies replied to Silvaren's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I prefer RTWP, but I think it's a fantastic inclusion for players who prefer turn-based. I wonder how it will work with Magran's Challenge.

Pukestabber Enchant Ingredients
My understanding from earlier posts is that It wasn't always the case. But I can confirm- I got delver's stew last night in the Wild Mare. Maybe you were lucky- 33% is pretty good odds for getting the item.
-
Pukestabber Enchant Ingredients
It's still random for both Gorecci and the second floor of the Wild Mare- So it's not a sure-fire thing. In fact, on loading those particular areas there's a 33% chance of getting Bloatbelly Eel, 33% chance of getting Herfwarts, or 33% of getting Delver's Stew. Which are the three items in the loot list I specified earlier.

Pukestabber Enchant Ingredients
It's random loot.

[Poll] What's the best Effigy's Resentment bonus?
Yeah, it's greater than. Extra pen on Kith helps for over-pen, as well. While I would sacrifice Caroc for the stats, in my actual gameplay I sacrificed Grieving Mother 'cause I ran cipher in POE 1 and didn't really like her all that much.
-
[Poll] What's the best Effigy's Resentment bonus?
True- If i'm not mistaken though, there are more Kith-type enemies in game than the others.

Newb character creation
Prince of Lies replied to Mozer92's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I change up my party pretty often with the sidekicks, trying different party compositions- some compositions are better for some encounters than others. Some sidekicks have some interesting conversation trees and interjections (Rekke and Ydwin in general, Konstanten in Seeker, Slayer, Survivor and Fassina in Forgotten Sanctum). You can very easily get through each companion's and sidekick's content in one playthrough. Mechanically- With multiclassing (or I guess just in general), you can build each character very differently from one-another.
-
[Poll] What's the best Effigy's Resentment bonus?
Devil of Caroc. Dexterity is useful on any build and +1 Pen vs. Kith is useful regardless of setup (on PoTD).

Been Out of the Loop Since Summer. Anything New?
- New Berath's Blessings - Magran's Challenges - Deck of Many Things - A new ship/merchant that has a bunch of unique accessories for sale/plunder. - Megabosses - Incredibly large and difficult boss enemies. - POTD Rebalance - Better mid-late game encounter balancing.for POTD - Spellshaping - Make the AOE of spells smaller for more PL or larger for less PL. - Backer items - Magran's Blessing, Essence Interrupter, Outworn Buckler, Shroud of Phantasm. -The ability to import/export characters. - Improved crafting UI - Quick casting slots Beast of Winter DLC is pretty good. Adds some lore and has excellent level design. Also adds trinkets to the game. Seeker, Slayer, Survivor DLC is also pretty good- has some excellent combat encounter design. Both DLCs add a fair amount of content to the game (Items, Gameplay) Pretty sure that sums it up.

What's Up With Quest Level Indicators?
Prince of Lies replied to Ælfwine's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Level scaling scales the enemies level up/down by four levels. I.E. A level 2 character runs into a level 14 enemy, the enemies level changes to level 10. Likewise, if a level 14 character runs into a level 2 enemy, the enemy scales up to level 6. When I originally did hanging sepulchers I was able to stealth around, grab each skelly individually and gank them. Now you can't really do that without attracting all their skelly friends.

What's Up With Quest Level Indicators?
Prince of Lies replied to Ælfwine's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)AFAIK level scaling happens on loading the map. You could enter the sepulchers then leave- come back when you're a higher level. Changing difficulty while in the loaded area won't change the encounters. I haven't had any issues once I reach level 10+ with enemies that are 3 levels ahead of me. I will say that the change to agro (bug? glitch? gameplay feature?) does make the battles significantly more difficult. I'm cool with that, as I like a good challenge- but I can see why it would be frustrating to others.

Looking for build advice - Assassin/Skaen priest
Assassins seem to always need to be babied with micromanagement, but I don't mind it. I'm partial to Mindstalker. (Assassin/Soul Blade). Prioritize Dexterity, Perception, Might. I usually dual wield with either Pukestabber + Lover's Embrace (with Drunkard's Regret), or Modwyr/Scordeo's Edge/Seeker's Fang + Rust's Poignard (stacking +Crit% items and +attack speed items). Using a two-handed weapon could also work. Use Slippers of the Assassin and Invisibility Potions/Smoke Veil > Gouging Strike/Toxic Strike/Ring the Bell > Finishing Blow > Soul Annihilation Usually, they'll be dead by finishing blow, giving you plenty of focus for Soul Annihilation. Slippers of the Assassin will proc, using Soul Annihilation after that with mostly-filled-focus will likely one-hit most enemies. Rinse and repeat the above. When you have longer fights, have another cipher throw Ancestral Memories on you to help regen guile.

Help Building a Party - DeadFire First Time Player
If you want to get Eder to dish out some extra damage, I'd suggest making him a riposte build Swashbuckler (Fighter/Rogue). This would let him dish out more damage without sacrificing tanky-ness.

Has Obsidian Talked about the state of the Might Stat for Damage Dealers?
Prince of Lies replied to Torm51's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Single-target weapon-based DPS builds would prioritize Might over Intellect unless you're using DOTs.
