  1. It gives everybody in range +10 accuracy and that stacks with every other accuracy buff. It is very useful if you cast it early in encounters and then use debuffs on the enemy (to make sure they hit). Rule of thumb is: buff (your accuracy), debuff enemies' defenses, deal damage.
  2. Sadly, the -10% recovery penalty enchantment of the Colored Coat doesn't stack with durgan reinforcement. Wicked Briars generates a quite big AoE (2.5 radius base) in which enemies are damaged every 3 secs with pierce damage (10-15 base) and lasts 20 secs (base). It also causes hobbled every 3 secs for 3 secs (base). It works a bit like wizard's Chillfog. It's good with high MIG and INT and also works with Blooded last time I checked. If you kill enemies with it it also counts for Bloodlust and also Blood Thirst. Last time I used the Colored Coat its special version of Wicked Briars was foe only. Frenzy on Sanguine Plate is nice, since it needs no casting time. BUT if you catch the first crit the first use will trigger, which will lower your deflection even more and you will quickly catch a second crit which will trigger the second use of Frenzy which just overrides the first Frenzy since they don't stack. But still: two uses of Frenzy are better than one. Same problem with Shod-in-Faith. However, you can work around that problem: put on the Cape of the Master Mystic. You will catch a crit and trigger Frenzy, but at the same time also trigger invisibility. Foes will stop attacking you and you can navigate into a great position for you carnage without getting attacked, then start hitting. This will put some more time between the two Frenzy triggerings. Just note that Frenzy from Sanguine Plate doesn't work with Greater Frenzy.
  3. Since you are Fire Godlike, check out The Colored Coat. Wicked Briars is nasty - nice combo if the barb also has Apprentice's Sneak Attack, too. Another thing would be Coat of Ill Payment, because retaliation stacks with Battle Forged (and Barbaric Retaliation). Besides that, I think Blaidh Golan and Wayfarer's Hide are very solid picks for a barbarian. Not only the enchantments are good, but the looks also fit a barb perfectly well.
  4. Glad I could help. The staff itself is good. But since priests of Magran don't get special accuracy bonuses with quarterstaffs (only longsword, arquebus and soulbound or summoned weapons) I would give it to somebody else like a barbarian, a monk or a melee wizard - or whoever can make better use of it. Sadly, Brilliant Radiance is one of the worst talents in the whole game. I would never use it.
  5. That's why I said "most certainly". I didn't say that he would lose the quest no matter what. But if you are a new player you try to check every place very thoroughly once you get there. After that there's a high chance that you don't notice the quest giver who will pop up even if you visit the sapling more than once - if you only rush in to buy supplies for example. So a new player might miss the quest completely if he has no meta knowledge. Maybe "most certainly" was a bit exaggerated, but you get my point I guess. And there's also no reason to wait that long. Raedric's castle is already becoming easy once you hit lvl 5. Doing it in Act III is very boring. Don't know why we have to dwell on this so much. I think my advice was sound and solid.
  6. Which is better depends what enemies you fight, but if you have to decide between the two, I would pick the Wayfarer's Hide.
  7. I answered your questions in the "Stories" subforum where you placed the original post. I only forgot Durance. So here comes Durance: Ranged arquebus shooter: - Inspiring Radiance - Weapon Focus Soldier - Inspired Flame - Quick Switch - Arms Bearer - Aggrandizing Radiance - Marksman - Scion of Flame Give him three arquebuses with burning lashes. Cast Holy Radiance right at the start of combat and then fire, switch, fire, switch, fire. This way you can do easier encounters without using spells. In tougher fights cast Holy Power or Champion's Boon or Minor Avatar, then Holy Radiance and then shoot. Melee offtank: - Veteran's Recovery - Weapon & Shield Style - Inspiring Radiance - Interdiction - Painful Interdiction - Superior Deflection - Bonus 4th level spell - Scion of Flame Start combat with Holy Radiance and other buffs, followed by Interdiction, then stand around and cast your other stuff when needed. It's also smart to cast Consecrated Ground before getting into contact with the enemy. Durance is slow... The bonus 4th level spell is for Devotions of the Faithful. You should use this spell as often as possible. Its accuracy bonus stacks with Inspiring Radiance and also other accuracy bonuses. Melee supermarker: - Veteran's Recovery - Inspiring Radiance - Weapon Focus Soldier - Inspiring Flame - Two Weapon Style - Gallant's Focus (if you have no paladin with Zealous Focus) or Aggrandizing Radiance - Savage Attack - Scion of Flame Give him two swords. Do the Crucible Knight's questline and get Shame or Glory, put a burning lash on it. If you get the Helwax Mold, clone Shame or Glory. Use Devotions + Radiance and then attack an enemy together with one of your main damage dealers. The damage dealer will get an accuracy bonus of +54. Also use Minor Avatar and stuff for your own benefit in combat. Two handed Juggernaut: - Veteran's Recovery - Inspiring Radiance - Inspiring Flame - Weapon Focus Soldier - Scion of Flame - Two Handed Style - Aggrandizing Radiance - Savage Attack Get an arquebus and use it with Radiance in trash fights. Put on the Forgemaster's Gloves (you can buy them from Dunstan in Crucible Keep after you completed the initial quest for the Crucible Knights which will NOT lock you out of the other factions in Defiance Bay). In tougher fights cast Holy Power/Champion's Boon/Minor Avatar + Radiance + Devotions and summon Firebrand. Go and wreck stuff with that sword when not casting. Later in White march fetch St. Ydwen's Redeemer or The Grey Sleeper and use one of those when not summoning Firebrand. All those two handers work with Weapon Focus Knight and also Inspired Flames' bonus. Da brawler: - Veteran's Recovery - Novice's Suffering - Inspiring Radiance - Outlander's Frenzy - Two Weapon Style - Aggrandizing Radiance - Vulnerable Attack - Weapon Focus Peasant Raise your MIG as high as possible with items, put on Sandals of the Forgotten Friar when you find them (White March 2nd bounty with the monk) cast Radiance + Outlander's Frenzy and punch away. The mechanics of Novice's Suffering make it so that it doesn't matter much if you graze or hit or crit, but high MIG buffs your melee damage significantly.
  8. Yes, I forgot to mention Cladhaliath. However, you have to side with the Dozens to get it early, else you will get it at the beginning of Act III. It is quite nice though because it not only is stunning + vicious (or coordinating, if you like to flank that's the better enchantment) but also has +5 ACC. There are talents and items that raise the crit damage: Annihilating (weapon enchantment): +50%, Merciless Hand (Doemenel talent): +30%, Azalin's Helmet: +10%, Rabbit Fur Gloves: +10%, Dungeon Delver (Dyrw. Looters talent): +10%. Helmet and Gloves don't stack with each other. But I can't think of an item other than the predatory weapons (+10%) which increases hit-to-crit conversion.
  9. Sure. Also stacks with Durgan Steel and One Handed Style. Alltogether 65%.
  10. Next best depends. Since one handed style leads to a lot of crits (especially with durgan steel) I'd go for warhammers and first pick Shatterstar (annihilating, 1 sec interrupt), then Godansthunyr (stunning, +1 MIG). Since both do something special on crit they are fitting and the two damage types are an advantage over maces, spears or sabres. Swords only have meh uniques. Another big plus is that you can buy Shatterstar quite early (Copperlane). For pure dps (not considering on-crit effects) you need speed + durgan steel, so Rêghar Konnek (late), Spelltongue (mid), Danulya (mid), Strike Hard (late), March Steel Dagger (early), Sword of Daenysis (early), Last Blade of the White Forge (late) or Unforgiven (mid) come to mind. Rêghar Konnek also is predatory and Kith-slaying, which fits pretty well. Besides that, I also like Aattuuk for a one handed approach. It is predatory (+10% hit to crit). Plus: a dagger fits a rogue.
  11. If you enter Act III, go to the Celestial Sapling and didn't kill Raedric before then there is no "Champion of Berath" quest. Sounds right to me.
  12. It seems that Ganrich isn't following the forum atm. Maybe we should send him a PM so he can update the list in his opening post?
  13. I can guess that it works in some way like White Worms and Garden of Life: corpses in a certain AoE range will do something like giving you bonuses of some sort or so. Maybe passively, maybe actively via ability use. Would be great in combination with Bloodlust, Bloodthirsty and on-kill effects. This would also mean that spirits for example won't work with that stuff (no corpse).
  14. You mean multiclass-combination, not subclass I guess...?
  15. But the point about the ranger is that he keeps up DoTs all the time for his pet's Predator's Sense and he also uses Consecrated Ground to heal it. Lower INT is not that helpful here I'd say. Sure, lower INT will apply the wounding damage a bit faster, but maybe that's not what counts in this case. Edit: damn smartphone auto correction makes "health it" from "INT", sorry...
  16. Let's say 90% of people solve it one way the first time they play.
  17. Hi. You should ask these questions in the character build subforum. You will get plenty of answers there. "Stories" is not that much frequented and deals with other kinds of topics. 1) it depends what you want him to be. If he should use implements like wands and so on take Blast, Penetrating Blast, Marksman, Weapon Focus Noble or Adventurer and maybe Penetrating Shot, Dangerous Implement, Apprentice's Sneak Attack, too. Then think about what your favorite spells are and pick one of the elemental booster talents like Scion of Flame and so on. Wizards have nice freeze spells, so you might want to take Secret of Rime. Summon Kalakoth's Minor Blights in fights. If he should be a melee reach wizard then take Two Handed Style, Arcane Veil, Hardened Veil, Weapon Focus Soldier or Peasant, Savage Attack, Apprentices Sneak Attack and Runner's Wounding Shot. Summon Concelhaut's Staff or Citzal's Spirit Lance or Llengrath's Warding Staff in fights. 2) Doesn't matter at all. 3) If you can do it before entering Act II then fine. There is tons of loot there which will get you a lot of money once you sell it. This helps with building Caed Nua and buy some nice items. But you can totally do it during Act II, too. Just make sure you complete it before you enter Act III or you will most certainly miss a nice little additional quest around Raedric.
  18. Corpse Eater? Really? Must be friends with the Ogres in the Endless Paths... I wonder what this subclass can do - besides eating corpses that is... Sounds interesting though.
  19. Howlol! Actually I can see that this is a great combination if the barb's shouts/howls improved a bit or if there are more of them now + the chanter's phrases and invocations which also came out like shouts most of the time.
