  1. Just getting settled in here I tried to post something earlier because I had a few hour layover in Amsterdam but I was either too drunk or too tired to get it right. I spent most of the flight from the US sipping bourbon and playing Civ 5. As far as the whole racial purity thing my wife's family mostly identifies themselves as Russian but they are as mixed as I am. A lot of Finnish and Estonian and even a little Chinese blood in the family tree Other than that everyone has been pretty nice. Whenever I try to use the few Estonian or Russian words that I know people tend to respond to me in English and seem genuinely friendly. I didn't see much of Tallinn but we will be going back for a few days towards the end of our trip and Narva is.... different. A lot of Soviet era buildings that I can't tell apart make it difficult to navigate even though it's pretty small
  2. My wife is from there and she hasn't been home in about a decade. Usually her folks come here and visit but this year we are going there. I wanted to detour to Finland for a couple days but we are going to Russia for a few days instead.
  3. I'm off to Estonia
  4. If I had to guess I would say it's probably because he doesn't really have anything to lose by it The people that will get the most upset about it are probably the people that don't support him anyway
  5. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_multi-sport_athletes#Basketball The ones that really surprise me are Chris Paul and bowling and that Danny Ainge played for the Blue Jays. Not surprising was Charlie Ward, he was great at everything... except the professional level
  6. Can someone remove all the text but leave the pictures in Oby's posts?
  7. Arabs are generally considered white as well The point I was trying to make earlier is just that Hispanic isn't a race but a pretty diverse cultural group
  8. I have to agree that plastic is where it's at. I also prefer a rounded spatula with rectangular perforations like this I don't want no 'splodey spatulas though Don't put me in a box, man... unless that box has guns, spatulas, and hot women. In which case, you can go ahead and put me in that box
  9. You people are weird *goes back to writing erotic pokemon fanfiction*
  10. I like all kinds I don't mind Oby's pics at all
  11. That really sucks about not getting a job because of a credit report I think they ran one on me when I started working for "The Man" and I work for an advertising and marketing company and my job has nothing to do with finances. I do have a corporate card but that didn't come until a year or two later. Speaking of work, our CEO just announced a short work day tomorrow because it's hot outside.
  12. LOL
  13. It may just be a big misunderstanding I know whenever someone asks me if I'm a god I always say yes in the off chance they may be Gozer the Gozerian
  14. I'm still really curious about how that all went down behind the scenes I still have 1 more key if you want it
  15. How are things in South Africa? Are there a lot of interracial couples/families? Growing up where I did in Arizona there weren't a lot of us
  16. Cool, sent
  17. I have an extra key if anyone needs one and isn't opposed to Steam
  18. I wonder if I can get this on a t-shirt
  19. The city of Denver has an "assault weapons ban" and has for almost 25 years but it's legal in the rest of the state. The law was changed somewhat a few years ago and removed the list of guns that were explicitly prohibited to a more vague definition of "All semiautomatic action, centerfire rifles with a detachable magazine with a capacity of twenty-one (21) or more rounds." There is a lot of discussion but no clarification on if that means that you can own it as long as you don't have magazine that can hold 21 or more rounds or that if the rifle has commercially available magazines capable of holding more rounds then it is banned. I know that sounds stupid but it really is being debated and I don't want to chance anything even if it's not being actively enforced as the fine goes up to $1000 and you can spend up to 6 months in jail. The new state laws passed this year limit magazine sizes to 15 rounds, require universal background checks and charge gun owners the cost of the check. I don't know how long the magazine restriction will last though because it's already being challenged and often called an unenforceable feel good law
  20. Ha! If I never drill with a rifle again it will be too soon I just like shooting targets and collecting. I've taken the Colorado concealed carry course with my wife but it was more to teach her about safety than anything else as I never plan to actually carry a weapon or use it for defense. My guns are always unloaded and locked up in my home office/spare bedroom so even if someone ever broke in to my home they would be of no use to me... or them. I would love to have add an old Peacemaker to my collection but in general I'm not a big fan of revolvers I often encourage friends who are curious or on the wall about shooting to come try it but I don't ever try to push the issue. Some people are scared or uncomfortable or just plain not interested. I've gotten a few of my wife's closest friends hooked on shooting once they got past the initial apprehension
  21. I want a 9mm pistol to fill out my collection and give my wife something else to shoot. She started with a .22 pistol but now wants something a little more solid and the last time we were at the local indoor range she enjoyed a few of the 9's they had for rent, especially the Beretta 92. I was already eyeing the following handguns after reviews from friends Walther PPQ H&K P30 CZ 75 SP-01 I also really want a nice rifle that I can take to one of the outdoor ranges here and am partial to a good old AR15 but the local laws say no to that. All we do is shoot targets, no hunting, and not really for self defense either EDIT: I guess I should also list what I already own as well .45 Beretta PX4 Storm - I hated the plastic grips at first but now I really enjoy firing it .40 Baby Desert Eagle 2 - my wife picked this for me based on looks but it's actually been pretty good and has great weight and is fun to shoot .22 Ruger SR22 - I got this for my wife to get her interested in shooting. It worked and now she wants to go to the range even more often than I do
  22. Now with less domestic spying
