  1. Pork belly ramen
  2. Where outside of that one Wynne scene that's all about her spirit keeping her alive? In Inquisition it has come up more than once already Not sure how often in earlier games but I'm sure it's referenced more than once
  3. I don't mourn the loss of health regen but I do miss the healing spells if for no other reason to keep some NPCs up
  4. Magical healing exists in some cutscenes so its removal was purely a gameplay decision
  5. I'm not very familiar with Skyrim or Oblivion but it does remind me a bit of FarCry 3 with all the capturing of locations and random activities. A lot of the activities are just finding things like shards and telescope-like things (the name escapes me at the moment) which prompts a fill in the constellation mini game. Also, some treasure map stuff and collect x of y or close all the breaches. Some of the platforming puzzles are a little wonky since you don't have very fine control over your characters movement but there isn't much of it. The few maps that I've been to outside of Val Royeaux have all been fairly large but even VR was bigger than I expected when I heard it was just the marketplace. My main gripes so far are that I spend so much time running from place to place and that the camera is still much too close for my tastes. The mounts help a bit with the running but you lose the banter which to me has been enjoyable so far. That said, I'm having fun with it even with all the content padding. The bottom line is that it isn't the game that I want Bioware to make but it's good for what it is
  6. Yes, but I wouldn't recommend it. It's hard to move your whole party around like that and there is a lot of running around
  7. How bad? Not terribad but it plays smoother with a controller imo
  8. I'm not a big fan of the keyboard and mouse controls. Considering just plugging in a controller
  9. I thought the one with Kevin Costner was decently entertaining
  10. I haven't seen any of the last two seasons of Supernatural. I have some catching up to do
  11. Yes, I'm going to be playing it from South Korea at 8 AM Denver time
  12. I think Sawyer is a good designer, possibly even a great one but I think we just have a fundamental difference of opinion on some things, balance and magic/wizards specifically. I'd like to see what he can do with another setting where I have less strong feelings about certain particulars like sci-fi or modern day something or other. I'm still looking forward to PoE even though I may end up playing on easy or cheating just to get the combat over with but that's not poor design as much as it's just not my preference. All my concerns may even turn out to be nothing by the time the game releases but either way I wish Sawyer and Obsidian nothing but success and will once again likely be first in line to back whatever they have planned next
  13. Take care Nep
  14. Welcome back LC!
  15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g181khk2Jyo Of course Gun Shot Wound won the game but that was entertaining
  16. Regarding the more reserved reviews, I think it's more likely they are trying to get out in front of the controversy this time around. They don't want to be overly negative just in case there is no DA2/ME3 torches and pitchforks but at the same time they want to hedge their bets just in case the anti-Bioware brigade does come out in full force Or maybe not. We'll find out next week EDIT- that was my 1000th post and it only took me 9 years. I kinda wish I had been sober and the post had been more profound.
  17. Hot chocolate with a toasted jumbo marshmallow and Baileys for me and the missus Mine has a shot of Jameson in it as well
  18. I thought we were just posting random stuff and conspiracy theories my bad
  19. "His grin was a defense against tears, of course, as with most chronic American smilers."
  20. I'm pretty sure I've changed it before even though I don't remember it as ever being anything else. But considering I took that picture like 4 years ago at a chalk art festival and I've been hanging out around here for... holy crap... 9 years! ... Where was I? Ahh yes, I'm pretty sure I've changed it about 4 or 5 times now
  21. Last day of work before a two week vacation. Not doing anything next week but the week after I'm going to head back to good ole southern AZ for some real life Wasteland action. We have an electric (boogie woogie woogie) fireplace and we love it. It has a heating element that we never use but it does all sorts of neat flames and can even make a crackling fire sound EDIT: Also trying to plan a trip to see the wife's side of the family around New Years but they are spread out over the Baltic states and Ukraine and Russia. Problem is we don't have much time to get visas and her family in Russia doesn't want to come into the EU because I guess they are having a really ****ty exchange rate at the moment. And nobody wants to go to Ukraine. This trip may have to wait until next year
