Dragon Age: Inquisition
I'm not very familiar with Skyrim or Oblivion but it does remind me a bit of FarCry 3 with all the capturing of locations and random activities. A lot of the activities are just finding things like shards and telescope-like things (the name escapes me at the moment) which prompts a fill in the constellation mini game. Also, some treasure map stuff and collect x of y or close all the breaches. Some of the platforming puzzles are a little wonky since you don't have very fine control over your characters movement but there isn't much of it. The few maps that I've been to outside of Val Royeaux have all been fairly large but even VR was bigger than I expected when I heard it was just the marketplace. My main gripes so far are that I spend so much time running from place to place and that the camera is still much too close for my tastes. The mounts help a bit with the running but you lose the banter which to me has been enjoyable so far. That said, I'm having fun with it even with all the content padding. The bottom line is that it isn't the game that I want Bioware to make but it's good for what it is

Next Obsidian Kickstarter
I think Sawyer is a good designer, possibly even a great one but I think we just have a fundamental difference of opinion on some things, balance and magic/wizards specifically. I'd like to see what he can do with another setting where I have less strong feelings about certain particulars like sci-fi or modern day something or other. I'm still looking forward to PoE even though I may end up playing on easy or cheating just to get the combat over with but that's not poor design as much as it's just not my preference. All my concerns may even turn out to be nothing by the time the game releases but either way I wish Sawyer and Obsidian nothing but success and will once again likely be first in line to back whatever they have planned next

Dragon Age: Inquisition
Regarding the more reserved reviews, I think it's more likely they are trying to get out in front of the controversy this time around. They don't want to be overly negative just in case there is no DA2/ME3 torches and pitchforks but at the same time they want to hedge their bets just in case the anti-Bioware brigade does come out in full force Or maybe not. We'll find out next week EDIT- that was my 1000th post and it only took me 9 years. I kinda wish I had been sober and the post had been more profound.

I'm pretty sure I've changed it before even though I don't remember it as ever being anything else. But considering I took that picture like 4 years ago at a chalk art festival and I've been hanging out around here for... holy crap... 9 years! ... Where was I? Ahh yes, I'm pretty sure I've changed it about 4 or 5 times now- What you did today
Last day of work before a two week vacation. Not doing anything next week but the week after I'm going to head back to good ole southern AZ for some real life Wasteland action. We have an electric (boogie woogie woogie) fireplace and we love it. It has a heating element that we never use but it does all sorts of neat flames and can even make a crackling fire sound EDIT: Also trying to plan a trip to see the wife's side of the family around New Years but they are spread out over the Baltic states and Ukraine and Russia. Problem is we don't have much time to get visas and her family in Russia doesn't want to come into the EU because I guess they are having a really ****ty exchange rate at the moment. And nobody wants to go to Ukraine. This trip may have to wait until next year- Pro Hoops 2K14-2K15
