  1. That's the thing. Wrestling has neither drama, characters nor is it any fun. Even has a form of brainless entertainment there's so much that could be done with this show it's beyond ludicrous.
  2. Well, to be frank, i don't think most developers have that kind of freedom in regards to their budget. I think most publishers may have a say on how their money 'ought to be spent, and i'm thinking helping linux to become a better gaming platform isn't one of their top priorities...
  3. The video played without audio the first the time and for a moment i thought those were holograms, i almost **** my pants. Eitherway, it still looks very cool...
  4. "Blizzard, you are not creative enough, all those sequels, how about, ANOTHER SEQUEL?" Interesting...
  5. I don't understand this comment. An adventure game being more of an adventure game then anything else? How does that work?
  6. The 60s were a period of intense experimentation in the world of classical music and Penderecki was a part of it. He has softened up a little since the 80s, which pissed off the avant-garde scene but i think it was for the best. I just recently bought a disc containing his WindSextet (written in 2000) and i think that's my favored Penderecki piece yet. And yes, there's some wicked modern music in Kubrick films. Ligeti is another one, used in both 2001 (remember the wierd chorus during the monolith scene on the moon?) or that creepy little tune in Eyes Wide Shut.
  7. Well, like most modern composers i think Branca kinda dodges any type of definition you can throw at him. Microtonalism (which is what his music uses for the most part) can sound quite cacophonic, but i would think there must be a point in there somewhere. Avant-garde has been known to produce a lot of crap since it's conception but as in all things creative minds can make something great out of everything. Then again, SOME composers are actually known to be quite noisy (*cought* Xenakis *cought* Babitt *cought*), and proud of it.
  8. Penderecki is very good, propably one of the best composers alive today, but he's not as odd sounding as you think once you learn the landscape of modern classical music, he's actually quite conservative. If you want some really odd classical music try some spectralist or new complexity music. I doubt even the composers themselves know just what the hell it's going on there... :D
  9. That's what i liked best about the game. That was when developers still had balls and were not afraid to challenge the player...
  10. Dark Colony wasn't all that. Amazing visuals, but nothing more. Dark Reign on the other end, wow. That game was defenatly among the great ones along side Total Annihilation and Starcraft.
  11. Enescu was actually well known as a conductor (in the US) and as one of the greatest violinist of his day (in Europe), though his recording legacy is scant thus few people still remember him even in those capacities. However, it's has a composer that he's really obscure. He was the most talented musician since Mozart and an individual of great passion and integrity, a shame. I heard of him, though i have yet to try some of his music. All i know is that he is an avant-garde composer who plays and writes for electric guitar. He's supposed to be one of totalists, a style which mixes the energy and some of the appeal of popular music with minimalism and the complexity of contemporary classical music. I never liked minimalism so i've always been slow in exploring composers associated with it, but the post-minimalim composers seem much more interesting. Besides, a symphony with electric guitar is too good to pass up...
  12. You are Romanian, right? I just recently discovered a composer named George Enescu which is virtually unkown outside of your country but boy, his musis is mighty impressive...
  13. What about an old man's right to have sex?
  14. In short, it's an action game. Not interested...
  15. I think the fact DirectX10 drivers only work on Vista might have something to do with it...
  16. King Crimson are still doing good.
  17. ''There can be no doubt that in this world nothing is so indispensable as love. I observe that Charlotte could not lose me without a pang, and the very children have but one wish; that is, that I should visit them again to-morrow. I went this afternoon to tune Charlotte's piano. But I could not do it, for the little ones insisted on my telling them a story; and Charlotte herself urged me to satisfy them. I waited upon them at tea, and they are now as fully contented with me as with Charlotte; and I told them my very best tale of the princess who was waited upon by dwarfs. I improve myself by this exercise, and am quite surprised at the impression my stories create. If I sometimes invent an incident which I forget upon the next narration, they remind one directly that the story was different before; so that I now endeavour to relate with exactness the same anecdote in the same monotonous tone, which never changes. I find by this, how much an author injures his works by altering them, even though they be improved in a poetical point of view. The first impression is readily received. We are so constituted that we believe the most incredible things; and, once they are engraved upon the memory, woe to him who would endeavour to efface them.'' - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (From the The Sorrows of Young Werther, 1774)
  18. What i'd really like to know is why are those skins in the game? Who made them? For what purpose? Why weren't they removed?
