Casual gamers already have an ample of non-RPGs games to choose from. What are the more 'serious' gamers going to do when every single genre is tailored to suit the needs of people with short attention span and who for the most part would rather do something different with their time (which begs the question, why bother playing video games in the first place)? I also fail to see how 'fantasy' RPGs have anything to do with this rant.

Yeah, Torments characters were so shallow, it was just a bunch of minuscule pixels. How unsophisticated. Hopefully, next generation games will be able to give our characters a greater 'cinematic' feeling and by extension TRUE DEPTH. In other news, those screen shots are ****...

I still have my original copies of both games, plus brand new doubles (which i keep skin wrapped) plus the torrent version, mostly because those packages include all the patches (official and unofficial) and related cracks. I think i'm pretty much set. :ph34r:

Western art music. Some Jazz and a bit of Rock/Metal.

Single Player - Mostly my own gender, but i do try a female avatar every now and then. Multi Player - Always my own gender, with no exception. The last time i tried using a female character i had so many greasy 13 year olds thinking i was a female player, some of which even tried to hit on me (i **** you not), i'd rather be raped by midgets then going through that experience again...

Anybody knows what happened to this guy? I remember finding his posts peculiarly interesting...

^ You are probably better off picking a bard as your first class. More skill points to start with, plus the ability to perform courage.

Does anybody know the ratio of charisma and relative skills needed to unlock most of the dialog options? It seems only your PC is used for conversations and since i'm making a fighter archetype i need to know how much i need to invest on dialog related abilities before i start cutting down on combat stats. I'm planning of playing at the maximum difficultly, so i need to balance things just right to avoid frustrations...

Best bard. Why the best? Well, for one he gets a few points for being a real bard (troubadour, to be exact), and a few more points for being the greatest troubadour that ever lived in the first place. :D

When every creature in the game scales with you, when every item found or contained is randomized to said level, and when every cave, forest and city looks the same, what's the incentive for exploring? How is that well done?

3d graphics are extremely expensive and time consuming, so much so there's often no resource left for creating an actual game. Case in point, first person shooters. If Oblivion really set the standard in CRPGs then they just gave the whole genre a killing blow.
