For people who want to make AP fresh without waiting for the more substantial fixes, upping the noise factor changes the game quite dramatically. I was fiddling with NoiseStats, and discovered that if you increase them by ~25% or so, it makes it a lot, lot harder to sneak by levels. It feels like AP levels were designed so that, with default noise stats, a dedicated stealth player could easily ghost most levels if they knew the patrol routes and used their items/abilities well. After 4 playthroughs, that starts to get old. I think they're not very well balanced, to be honest: if you look at the numbers, the noise generated by a stealth takedown is way too low, as is jogging/running and bouncing grenades. That's why even on Hard you can lob a grenade from behind and they won't notice, you can take down people and guards nearby won't notice, etc. If you up these values, from the start, stealthing past the courtyard or doing Parker's espionage mission becomes a lot more challenging.

ID Jibril Al-Bara at the Chateau glitch. PLEASE HELP!!!
Tigranes replied to Reg1.1's question in PC Support
Damnit, some problems at work so I won't be able to get on these until later tonight (6-8 hours), sorry if you're waiting to play. If anyone else wants to take wolfsun/dno83's files up go ahead, otherwise hold tight. -
So that's why Empire: Total War had alt tab problems for a lot of people.... terribly optimised console port. Oh wait...

How tyte is it?
Tigranes replied to WILL THE ALMIGHTY's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
It's a little known fact that Feargus' office-****-panoptic-watchtower houses a tyte-o-meter, constantly manned by at least four MCA fanboys to ensure optimum tyteness. -
Maybe. I think I've argued about that stuff so much there are all sorts of strawmen in my head.

Final mission chopper disapearing, checkpoint is hosed
Tigranes replied to Kileyan's question in PC Support
See here for discussion on this issue. The checkpoint bug appears to come in different varieties. For me, it's usually fixed if I manually reload instead of using "Reload checkpoint" option, or if I try a few times. For others, it just never fires. Darcy can be killed very very easily if you use chain shot, or if you use the other tower to get at the sniper rifle, or if you camp beneath his tower where he can't get you and then grenade him (hell, he'lle ven grenade himself sometimes trying to get you if you do that). Again, see the respective Darcy thread for this. For a 'clean' fix to the whole issue I'm afraid we'll have to wait for a patch or until someone figures it uot. -

wolfsun I'll get on this within the next 3 or 4 hours. -
I can understand why that view might develop, but sorry, that's bollocks - invert that argument and think about why so few English talents play outside England. Nobody outside England gives a crap about all these 'world class talents' that England thinks they are producing with every bach of youngsters, because they're not that good. And then the British press feeds them with the worst kind of hyperbole until they bend over under the pressure or just become prima donnas. English players are well known, even in England, for being overpriced, and English players love to play in the Premiership because they get good press, good wages, and protection from referees (e.g. Gerrard diving every few weeks, Rooney telling every ref in England to go screw their extended family). Anyway, Germany rolling over Australia 2-0 at the moment - the referee's suddenly turned very biased and sent an Aussie off for no reason whatsoever, but really, the Germans are too good anyway.

The World Cup is rarely the best of what professional football has to offer. 2006 would have been very dull without the genius of Zidane. Green was horrible for England, but arguably Carragher was even worse with a disgusting back-tackle where he managed to kick the guy twice in the space of 1/10 of a second. Ah well - they won't amount to much again and the press will go haywire with the blame game, again. Korea was surprisingly good, and I'm Korean. The 2002 semis was obviously a one-time occurrence (sort of like Brits in 1966, haw haw), but I think they need to be considered a team that will seriously challenge to get in the last 16 every tournament, they were one controversial goal away from it in 2006.

I'm using some of the engine tweaks now - I don't see a huge amount of difference but I'm pretty bad at detecting small changes in graphics, so we'll see. Also experimenting with making it a bit harder...has anyone noticed In APAI.ini? I'm trying putting it on 15, but hard to tell if it's doing anything.

Confirmed: more than a hack & slash
Tigranes replied to Humodour's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
You know, that's true - now that AP has come out, infinite ammo would have been terrible. I shudder to think of the complaints if it was retained. -
DS3... PS:T's spiritual successor?
Tigranes replied to Humodour's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
The stuff I want to see make a return from PS:T is, really: -> High quality philosophical writing. No reason why we can't have this, like in K2 and MotB. -> Use of setting. The game's appropriation of Planescape's language and setting was absolutely amazing, the game lived and breathed the setting in every moment. There's not much to 'live and breath' in the setting at the moment, but I'm reasonably sure they'll be doing a big rehaul/upgrade of that anyway, so...in dialogue, in characters, in items, in art direction - I think if we can have a game that does this, it'll be great. -
Weapon Modding results
Tigranes replied to SNIPER231JRC's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
Cool stuff. Eventually, if you mod weapons to be 'fps-accurate', you'll need to edit other things in the game to balance it, though - e.g. active abilities, enemy strength, AI. -
Yeah, it was just Spy's Luck.

Your health doesn't regenerate. Your armour does. Otherwise it'll be way too easy.

What? It does...

Mod to remove all missions
Tigranes replied to poolofpoo's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
It would be a very complicated job for something that would be used by a total of about three people worldwide. Huge chunks of dialogue change depending on what you do. You could just put it on easy and use assault rifles & chain shot... -
Ohhh no you don't. Want the bloody South African president to shut up so we can get with the football.

so,where is the license key at?

Alt-tab is extremely unpredictable and is really a blind bet on a game-by-game, system-by-system basis. High end system helps but guarantees nothing. You were lucky with your other games, while you are not with this one. Others can alt tab just fine with AP. This is the case for most PC games out there.
