  1. Wael does say it in one of the final conversations with the gods that if there are no mysteries left in the world, there will be nothing to inspire kith to search and learn more, and that is what worries him. It's easy to miss among all of his whiny "But muh secrets!" lines, but it's there. It seems he is also one of the three gods that support the decision to inspire the kith. He doesn't speak for it, but his portrait is there in the ending slide along with Abydon's and Hylea's.
  2. A user on tumblr made a map based on the hazatoha table: Source
  3. We should keep in mind that it also contains Ixamitl Plains which are supposed to be vast. Old Vaila does look oddly small, but perhaps the map only shows the continent's eastern edge? There is a large gulf on the side of the continent that's facing Aedyr, north west of Ixamitl, but indeed no archipelago. Are you certain there is supposed to be one?
  4. Interesting. My first Tyranny playthrough (Disfavored) I felt more like "me and this archon I sided with and thanks to that know a lot about VS that other archon I know nothing about beyond him being a psycho". I didn't care at all about confronting Nerat because I only saw him briefly in the first act, and after that he was gone for the bigger part of the game. Sure, I ran into his minions from time to time, but they were not him. Accusing Ashe in the court and killing him was actually way more satisfying because he had all the time in the world to make me hate him during act 2. In Deadfire I at least get to work with all the faction leaders and form some opinion about them. I even felt somewhat bad about snatching the Hangman from under Furrante's nose and killing him on Ukaizo, and Principi was the faction I cared the least about.
  5. The scale is probably off, if we are to take it as a map painted by someone who lives in Eora. I'm curious about that too. What's keeping aedyrans from sailing west? It makes more sense than I originally expected. Rauatai was described as located in the Northern hemisphere in the first game, even north of Aedyr iirc. It's closer to the Deadfire on this map than I imagined. Also, Ondra's Mortar probably stretches far into the North, no? Otherwise rauataians would have sailed east long time ago.
  6. I'm not sure if anyone already brought this up but I know there are at least two fan versions of the map of Eora on the internet, and it looks like nothing official has been released yet. Whenever someone asks for a map of the world, they get directed to one of the fan made pictures. But. I've been running around Brass Citadel today, and I saw this in the Officer's Lounge on the hazatoha table: It's in the game so I'd say it's as official as it can get. As for the lands themselves, my guess goes as this (sorry for the sloppy paint edition): What do you think?
  7. Problem is, Aloth is still there and even aware of what's going on, if I'm not mistaken. It is Aloth's body in the first place, and he is supposed to have a say about who gets to kiss him, you know. So perhaps Eder should learn to control his impulses. Whether or not we should use the same approach for anyone's relationship with Aloth is an interesting question though. I'd say it is still a different matter because it's Aloth's life and Aloth's body, Iselmyr is an unwelcome passenger there even if she didn't choose to Awaken. And judging from how she repeatedly tried to push Aloth toward getting physical with other people (she admits it after the conversation with his former classmate), she doesn't seem to mind it anyway. But it still is somewhat awkward to me. I think I had the first couple of conversations trigger in my game, but I can't say if it goes any further, because I separated Eder and Aloth just in case.
  8. Doesn't Eder try to kiss her though? Excuse me, but trying to kiss somebody's body while their mind is away (and you are well aware of that) definitely IS creepy.
  9. That would explain why his -1 speech bugged out on my priest of Wael run. He just doesn't like competition.
  10. Okay, I reached +2 with Serafen and Tekehu (waaaaay earlier than the previous time), and they wouldn't initiate their conversations. Heck, Tekehu hasn't even given me the +1 one. What is going on I wonder? Did the patch put some of these dialogue behind a certain plot point? Is it only the romance related stuff that gets delayed so that we don't get attacked by hungry companions right off the bat (if so, I hope I won't get +1 and +2 both one right after another)? Eder started his friendly +1 chat just fine, and Aloth attempted to give me the -1 "You're like Thaos" speech even though its flow hilariously bugged out. I guess I'll have to test it further with Maia to understand what's going on. But then again, Serafen's +2 conversation also doesn't trigger. And I want that cool hat from him since we are already that close after a single day of running around Neketaka. C'mon Serafen, I know you like me enough. Update: aha, got it, looks like Tekehu's +1 triggers after the "The Kahanga royalty seem to be really taken with you" conversation. Now on to see how Maia will behave. I hope hers is also locked behind some player-initiated interaction, this way at least we have some measure of control over when and where it happens. Wonder what's Serafen's deal though (give me my hat already, you).
  11. I just got the same bug, so whatever is causing it, it wasn't fixed in the latest patch. Guess I'm having another no-Aloth-in-my-party playthrough. Sigh.
  12. How is everyone faring in regards to the adjusted affection gain rates after the patch? I find it that on my current playthrough I'm gaining rep even faster than before Not sure if this is a bug or just me being more likeable in certain companions' eyes, but I hit +1 with Eder and Tekehu way sooner than the previous time. At least they don't initiate their reputation-gated conversations right away, but it still feels off.
  13. It's not a responce, it's a way to eliminate a political rival. The one that lied to me on every turn, tried to harass me into handing them the coordinates of Ukaizo and made me complicit in murder of local chieftains. Them attacking the Spire simply drops my sympathy level for them below zero. And I wouldn't really call it worse.
  14. To be honest, after seeing RDC murdering animancers in the Spire I didn't feel bad at all about blowing up their warehouse. I wouldn't do it for Onekaza because that also involves framing another party (even if they were planning to blow it up themselves, we beat them to it), but if I choose VTC - sure, why not.
  15. WE VOTE THEREFORE WE DEMOCRACY. EXCEPT HAT. HAT RULES ALL.
  16. VOTE RENAME SODDING BUGGER INTO BURGER. THIS WAY CAN EAT HIM IF HUNGRY.
  17. The moment it looked like Eder-Iselmyr banter was beginning to turn into that horrible awkward thing, I just kicked one of them out of the group and never brought them anywhere together again. Not in my game, you sick buggers. It's just unfair to Aloth, even if he insists on being an ass towards half of my party, he doesn't deserve that. Nobody does.
  18. My experience with Xoti was quite something. I consistently encouraged her to pursue Maia, told Maia to go for Xoti, and then near the end of the game Xoti decided it was the time to talk about her feelings... for Eder. When I said that she might be a bit too young for him she suddenly got all flirty and asked who wasn't she too young for (hinting at me, from my impression), at which point I had options to tell her to bugger off, to remind her about Maia or to kiss her. All of that while I was already in a relationship with another character. So my guess is that it's almost impossible to botch her romance. You can throw her at Eder, you can trow her at Maia (and Maia might even catch her), but she will still remain available to you. I should have been more specific, sorry. What I meant was did Maia have any conversation available after you lock yourself in on the huana route? Because I read that she will only have a "Maia is angry and wouldn't talk to you" line over her head after that.
  19. As far as I know Maia would be alright with you rejecting Hazanui's offer, because, uhhh, I'll hide it just in case since it's a bit spoilery. Did she talk to you at all on the huana route?
  20. You can convince them in some cases, for example, Tekehu will stay with the VTC and Principi, and Maia is okay with the pirates. But it might require talking them out of leaving. Then there are factions which they will never, ever agree to work with: RDC for Tekehu and maybe Pallegina, VTC and Huana for Maia (though it was possible to leave her on the ship on the Huana run prior to the patch, she would remain but never talk to you again. Not sure about now).
  21. IMPS ALWAYS NAKED. IMPS BELONG IN BATHHOUSE! WHY GROUNDMEAT UNHAPPY? EH.
  22. BG2 romances took too much time to unfold for me. Hours upon hours of waiting for the next conversation to trigger isn't necessarily a good thing. I ended up entering time speed cheat over and over again when I tried to romance Viconia, simply because the game was drawing to its end, and I still wasn't even half way through her conversations. But that is more of a technical matter. What I'd like to see more of, is companions talking to us not only about themselves (which they do a lot), but also about the Watcher. Let me express my character dammit. I can count maybe four or five instances when somebody asked me where I stand with the whole Eothas thing, what I think and how I feel about so many people looking up to me and asking for my opinion on the gods, and other stuff like that. And in most, if not all cases it was either Eder or Aloth. I don't think anyone ever asked me how I felt about Caed Nua being destroyed and my soul stolen either, and that's something I would definitely ask my friend about in such circumstances. We had more of conversations of this sort in the first game, I remember Eder, Sagani, and Kana checking up on me from time to time, and it was nice to see that they cared. Here, even the characters you supposedly have a romantic relationship with only talk about themselves.
  23. I went trough the trial, and you know what I saw? They charged him with wasting money AND slave trade at the trial separately. We were able to disprove the "you are not making enough money" charge. The slavery thing was brought up on its own with no connection to the first occusation, and since I had killed Kua, I refused to lie to cover Castol, stating that he had indeed attempted an alliance with slavers. He was forced to defend his position on the matter (which he didn't do very well, it was mostly a few weak "I c-c-can explain!"), and the judges didn't seem pleased with him, even though they were apparently okay with the profits he was making, him spending too much money on research and whatnot.
  24. Ah, I thought you were referring to the "NEMNOK! NEMNOK!" part, before the cultists notice you. Not sure if he approved when I agreed to worship Nemnok later. Though if he does it still looks rather inconsistent and oversimplified, same as Aloth approving of Xoti's religious zealotry because duty.
