  1. It's a TSR issue, not Salvatore's. It was the rule system that he was writing for that implemented 2 weapon fighting for Rangers. Plus Drizzt was trained by Zaknafein, a Fighter. It was his experiences after fleeing home that turned him into a Ranger. In that regard it was a pretty unique character that Salvatore was building in his writing. He lost control of it IMO, but the basic premise was a good start.
  2. Not for me. Got one guy with boots of speed and he's always legging it away from everyone. Me too!
  3. I was just making sure. Taking things for granted always seems to backfire on me when I'm it comes to CRPGing. These days items are pushed out with lots of bugs as we become the testers.
  4. Sorry, I meant are we able to gather them all and use them interchangely when at an inn or leaving the stronghold?
  5. These are cross-class talents not new multi-classing. They just add more to the current build selections.
  6. This *really* needs to be made more clear in the actual expansion. The way it's worded is ambiguous at best, and players who head to Cragholdt right off the bat are in for a *VERY* rough time of things. I've never seen that kind of targeted "kill the squishie" obsession in enemies before and it was....surprising. It *almost* frustrated me enough to stop playing. The Steward in Caed Nua said outright that I'd be outmatched if I went there when my party was all level 7, and said I should avoid it until I was stronger. Not really sure how much clearer it could be without breaking the fourth wall. I don't recall seeing any warning with my level 11 party, and every battle through the place was like fighting Raedric...only worse, because Raedric was simply overpowering my party while everybody in Cragholdt were consistently bypassing my front line and just straight face-stomping my casters. I find myself not reading everything when a new game comes about and end up missing important info like this. My wife has a few things to say about that type of lack of attention. Of course I respond with "We're you talking dear."
  7. With 2 newbies coming our way in TWM will there be room in the party to gather all possible companions?
  8. The administrative cost of preparing and mailing out physical copies would far outweigh the inconvenience to the minuscule number of backers who are hypothetically without internet access. It would be cheaper to buy that one guy in Phnom Penh a gift card to his local internet café. The argument doesn't hold water. As for "we like it" – again I'd counter that it costs too much to be worthwhile. Obsidian should spend its time/money making games, not turning out bric-a-brac.
  9. I dont see summons as OP. Magicusers/weaklings of most gameworlds/genres use them. Its fitting.
  10. There's enough summon items to be had that will clog the path to your squishes regardless of any 2.0 game mechanic change.
  11. I thought the same way at first. Then I realized this isn't D&D. Which is the engine I have mostly played. I like the change. It's refreshing.
  12. Screw new races. Add horses(or other mount type...) and mounted combat abilities.
  13. Uploaded the Beta. When I approach The mill for the first time, Sweynur and his cronies are yelling at the miller. His dialogue of his third comment freezes the game. I see the continue button but hitting it does nothing. New bug?
  14. Well, the added levels are the late levels which usually takes more content to level up. So I would assume there should be a lot of added content.
  15. I have uploaded the Beta testing that was released on 8/5. The changes should be implemented???? Q-Staves seem fitting but have an attack speed of slow. I was hoping to use something faster. I just reached level 4. Using bare hands so far and kicking butt. But i do want to weapon up for tougher battles. About to tackle Raedric. Debating on choosing Peasant or Ruffian for the acc bonus. I like the sabre as there are no "oriental-ish" type weapons in the game. At least they are curved blades, plus i like stilettos. I also like the Hatchet-Club dual wield feel plus peasant gives unarmed bonus to acc. I also like blunt weapons like mace/flail. Lots of endgame options there.
  16. Created a Meadow Folk Monk. Playing on Hard. I will create 5 more adventurers. Not looking to change race as I want a Human Robe wearer as my Watcher. Looking for advice as how to build a melee Monk in my frontline. Looks like he will be DPSish since I DON'T want to wear armors beyond Robes, for a RP feel. I haven't been using Monks. Supporting cast will be... also not changing them. Looking for advice on how to build a DPS Monk considering the Per change to Accuracy. Earth Godlike Pally - Sword And Board Earth Godlike Barbarian - Reach weapon Island Aumua Wizard - CC and Warbow Savannah Folk Priest of Berath - Healer and Mace and Shield Pale Elf Druid Lion Shifter specializing in Shock damage Thanks!
  17. When recently tackling The final fight in Caed Nua with a 6 man team on Hard, after making the deal with the Dragon Hunter and using her newly granted ability on the Dragon, my cipher hit a shaman a few times then used his focus to keep the dragon paralyzed for the rest of the fight?! Is that a bug? A level 2 ability locking up a boss for most of a fight? Basically my Cipher and Melee Rogue took him out. It was rather dissappointing.
  18. So if I am using a 1-hander should I use the shield as well? Does using a shield eliminate the 1-hand style acc bonus? Shields already decrease your acc and since I was trying to use lighter armor, will mo shield make melee to tough to survive for a Priest?
  19. That makes sense. I was thinking dual wield to cause more damage and status effects but it will weaken me defensively. W&S may be the way to go.
