http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj-x9ygQEGA I love these literal versions..

Sucky muzak. Time to invade and kill them all. Their music will be much better if we invade and kill. Yup..
-
A 4-player co-op screen with max zoom-out would be nice..
-
Saw Inception yesterday. Top entertainment. Saw the extended version of John Woo's "Battle of Red Cliff" the other day. Repetitive score and so-so CGI, but a fantastic story and awesome sword-action. Halberd-swinging heroes fighting on top of shield walls in massive explosive battles.

I agree, companions are useful. As long as they don't force it on you, like those mules I had to drag around in NWN2.. J.

Riding, climbing and swimming plz.. Keep the mules..

NSFW: The end of Mel Gibson's career (thank non-extant gods)
Junai replied to Humodour's topic in Way Off-Topic
He hit her? I know nothing about the situation. I just listened to the clip in the OP's post and figured he was tired of everything. Also, with his attitude he'd probably see a hoe in his own mother - hence women "like that" will always be around if you wanna start trouble. I think women who always end up with abusers have the same problem as men who always end up with "sluts". They are part of, and create the situation themselves. Mel finds himself a young sexbomb, then complains about the way she dresses. Kinda funny actually. J. -

Sounds to me like he's tired of success and just wants to screw it all up.. Women like that will always be around when you're ready to piss away your career just on spite. -
The Dark Sun'ish style is cool. I'm dead tired of cyan-blue WoW-faeries running around in acid-trip land.. The oversized sword sucks.. J.

Hopefully they go down that japanese manga path so I can quit cold turkey and be done with games once and for all. J.

What makes an action hack'n slash RPG fun..
Junai replied to Archaven's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
The RPG style and genre you find in a majority of all crpgs these days was created by exactly that, closed-minded individuals. The whole "tradition" is riddled with people who spew out nothing but clichees. "OMG I can undress my doll! They give me rpg-options!" Look, you're not given anything to suit your roleplay (whatever that may be) in 99% of the crpgs you got atm, you're spoonfed the same regurgitated nonsense over and over, until you're so void of ideas and imagination that you're completely sold on the idea that you're given options. For God's sake, have nudity, but do it good. You enjoy spending time going through 30-page threads about whether or not someone saw DA Morrigan's left nipple under her breastplate on max cam-zoom? Maturity in contemporary crpgs - Baywatch nipples rubbing against steel-breastplates! yay! J. -

"just one word to describe for me is.. FLASHINESS! :D" *sigh* What's with the flash and gloss? I just don't get it. Or maybe I'm getting old. Wishlist; less trashcan-lid-sized elbowpads, less 15 yrs old manga-girls wielding 8-feet long broadswords, and less bikini-clad bimboes which look like they came outta Baywatch. And less magic-animations which cover the whole screen so you can't see wtf is going on. How about a fast paced version of Myth II - Soulblighter, with realistic animations and graphics which are up to date?... Fairly short, but well-written cutscenes/score-updates - with real artwork and a Hrothgar storyteller-voice.. Just my 5c. J. -
It made for an interesting match. Could easily have been 3-4.. J.

Cameroon-Denmark in 5.. Me thinks 0-2. J.

One can always.. try... *cough* J.

Shoot, i'll need to chat with Nathaniel now about changing some things.

Aye. Also, most consol-games atm don't involve the player at all. You end up watching a "movie", then you're allowed to click your right thumb off for 3 minutes for some mindless grinding, then it's back to a movie again.. Quite boring. I really loved the old co-ops, like Gauntlet. Imho, the more the player can be involved all the time, the better. J. My brother enjoys playing Guantlet like games with me (he's not the gamer he was) but he tends to get turned off by excessive "movies" in games that have more story than Gauntlet. It bores him to sit through the movies or cutscenes. A few games that had skippable cutscenes, I'd play for awhile and then get him to play so we could skip the cut scenes without missing out on what we were actually supposed to do or where we were supposed to go. I think I understand him, though I do love a good story as well. I've probably played all the IE games 5-6 times, as well as NWN 1&2 and quite a few other D&D crpgs. I like the chapter-cutscenes in BG2, but the long animated dialogues in some new consol-games turn me off. It feels like I'm "allowed" to participate in a movie, rather than play the game. Also, as mentioned earlier, people usually expect a little more direct control-involvement in consol-games. I'm sure they'll strike a fine balance. Sounds like they're aware of the "lag-issue" at least. 4 player co-op teamwork in an action consol-game can be smoking. I hope they don't dumb it down with too much spell/power-animation, annoyingly huge avatar-circles, unnecessary screen-shaking, glossy cartoon/manga-stuff etc. Keep it clean, realistic, fast and responsive. That'll get people hooked. J.

"Fun" has a new definition these days. You won't get old-school fun anymore. Recent polls show the public want glossy soulless 15hr snack-meals. Controls should be limited to [O] and [X] buttons, no R1,2 or L1,2, that's too complicated. Two ways to swing the oversized manga-sword, a three-inch glowing circle around your avatar so you can't miss it. An auto-pilot mode in case you need to take a leak or wanna watch some tee-wee while your hero is levelled. Once in a while they throw in some bikini-clad playthings to please the boys, or some dwarven gay-pr0n when faced with accusations of political incorrectness. Brave new world dude.. Gotto find a way to please or self-negate your starved ego. J. -
With a final 5E ruleset created specifically for CRPGS they could keep it alive. A 5E IWD3 with improved Mystary engine.. Can always.. dream. J.
-
I love co-op games. Very few consol co-op games these days. Good on ya... Of course I was hoping for an Infinity engine IWD3 2'nd ed. D&D game, but -.. hey.. J.

Israel butchers civilians in international waters
Junai replied to Humodour's topic in Way Off-Topic
Sad but true.. Ever since the Exodus 3,5k years ago this nervous little man has faced obliteration time and over again, every damned century. Now it's been 70 years, and the world looks at him and sighs, wondering when he'll stop fancying himself as the victimized son of God, beset by enemies on all sides. They offer him council in dark times, give him weapons, money, and a land to live in. Still he's at war with his surroundings continuously, snarling at invisible enemies with his feet firmly planted in defiance. He dreams of expanding and ruling the mini-empire given to him by boarding boats in open waters and shamelessly whacking emissaries in foreign countries. While screaming and shouting he tries to muzzle media around the world, demanding that politicians all over hang up pictures of the big ugly German on their walls as a reminder of how badly he was treated a while back. How long does this fella' have left ?!?!?! By having patience with an unruly.. impossible child, you grow in wisdom. That's why he's God's child. By loving him despite his idiocy and pranks, you're brought closer to the creator. J. -
Now that might be interesting to watch They're gonna discuss the consistency of Dharma Initiativ chocolate candy-bars, and how it relates to the Siva-linga phenomenon in Hindu Tantricism.. Worth spending an extra $50 for.. J.
