The actual Empire itself lasted just about two decades. The Skywalker twins are set to be born in Ep3 and they were about 19 when Ep4 happened meaning the Empre itself is just shy of 20 years old. From what I've read of Ep3 Palpatine will fight and good possibility of being with a saber, I've read rumors against Yoda. Though Marka Ragnos was successful at holding the Sith Empire for about a century, the Empire itself prospered next to nothing because Ragnos maintained the Sith secluded from the rest of the galaxy from fearing the Republic. Palpatine was way more successful than him in the overall picture. Imo, Palpatine was the most successful Sith Lord of all time. The defeat in Endor is a little hard to swallow from a realist point of view. Some may argue that the message there was that no matter if you are little, your contribution can defeat even the mightiest bad guy. But from a more realistic standpoint, it doesn't float at least to me. However had Endor been Kashyyyk and the Ewoks a Wookie slave revolt as originally was intended to be the story of RotJ I think the victory of the Rebellion would have been more realistic. Course I don't know if the 2nd Death Star was part of the original story either because Luke and Vader were set to duel before the Emperor's palace in Coruscant (Then named Had Abbadon) so if there was no DS 2, the Rebels might have also won more believably, then again the Wookie slaves Han and Chewie help liberate might have been working to build the DS 2 all along. It's my theory that Palpatine didn't use a saber in RotJ because he had Vader there to protect him anyway. Palpatine keeps goatiung Luke to strike him down since he's unarmed and when Luke finally gives in Vader intercepts Luke's blade before it can cut Palpatine down. After Luke defeats Vader, he throws away his saber so Palpatine just went to the Lightining to kill off Luke once and for all.

Well that's all in the perspective of the person. To me there's no such thing as a "Dark Jedi", the concept in on itself is a contradiction. Here's how I see it, the Jedi study the LS of the Force and use it to seek knowledge from the way the Force is connected to life. The Sith studies the DS of the Force and promotes the use of it to acquire power. A Jedi can fall to the DS, like Dooku and Anakin, once they do they begin to study the DS aspects of the Force, this they study the Sith teachings and makes them a Sith. Some people say that you have to be taught by a Sith in order to become a Sith, I think the study and practice of the DS itself is part of the Sith teachings thus making the fallen Jedi as Sith once embracing the DS of the Force. It would be the same if a Sith suddenly turns to the LS, is this now a Light Sith? I'm certain the EU has come up with a hundred reasons why the "Dark Jedi" and Siths are different but this is how I see it. The Sith will always be around, they are after all the evil counterparts to the heroic Jedi. Palpatine might have died, but that never stops somone else from travelling to Korriban and learning the Sith teachings and passing those down. Besides 4k years after RotJ who knows where the Sith may be at, they might not even be following Bane's doctrines of One Master/Disciple anymore and there may be as many Siths as Jedi.

Something like that could work. However I've always thought that having a mastermind behind the scenes of the first story is very interesting. I mean you know that person exists but you never actually meet them during the first game. Someone pulling the strings that becomes the ultimate villain in the later stories, somewhat like Palpatine in Ep4, though showing their influnece and manipulations to a higher level. You can always have the bounty hunter chasing you the way assassins are chasing the player in KotOR 2. You can even have bounty hunters and assassins chasing you, especially if you incorporate the Sith assassin class into a true character type. Has several tricks up their sleeve, appear at certain points, aren't a commonly encountered opponents, same for bounty hunters.

Well I'm one of the ones that figures Fett inide the digestive track of the Sarlacc so I'm not really a Fett lover. However it can be another Mandalorian since the armor is basically what people love about Fett anyway. We have to see bounty hunters are good in theory but I was less than impressed with Calo, had much higher hopes than what he delievered, though not even close as disappointing as Bandon. But sure we can include a bounty hunter or two into the mix. We can even throw in a Hutt or an organization like Black Sun.

Well the DS either you conquer the galaxy or kill it completely, not much else for the Siths to do. Ep2 had a celebration? The hordes of clones marching to the Imperial theme didn't give me that impression. If you meant the wedding, well it was sort of bittersweet imo since we know where that's ending up. Lucas does do a lot a celebrations though, but why shouldn't he with all the money he gets in SW royalties hell I'd have the cartoons celebrating at the end of each episode also. Sorry can't come up with a better DS ending, but I am a Light Sider. So I guess something appropriately dark and somber would do it.
-
Yeah it's the whole want to emulate ESB thing, that's good though I want my Sith nice and dark, no moustache twirlers thank you. In the orignal game I always understood that they said Malak destroyed the Jedi Enclave not firebombed the entire planet to the stone age, wierd. Anyway the darker the game, in characters, events and twists the better I think.

He, he, he we think very much alike in our Siths Shadow. A mastermind, his/her badass disciple, and a general leading Sith warriors. Course for blaster lovers I'd also give them a separate military-like bonus enemy. Whether or not they are in concert with the Sith who knows, maybe they're being manipulated also...many possibilities.
-
LS: I wouldn't mind seeing a celebration scene similar to the end of KotOR, actually would be kinda cool for me if they kinda do like RotJ SE and show the worlds from both KotOR games celebrating the defeat of the Sith. The ending has to be in Coruscant before the Jedi Council in the temple. And the bittersweet thing, awesome..., maybe a funeral sequence or seeing the dead npc's ghost like in RotJ to sad music. I hadn't heard that the LS ending would be bittersweet because of an npc death, heh there goes Atris. Does anyone know if there will be more than just the two endings? Have multiple LS and DS endings would give great replayability especially if linked to your decisions ingame. DS: Coruscant burning, the Jedi Temple collapses in fire. Huge hordes of fanatical Sith bowing in Korriban as the PC sits in a darkly toned throne. Eh something like that.

I agree Shadow. Actually I find the premise of cloning previously used villains lame to begin with. The clones in the movies had a purpose, they were an instant army for Palpatine to take over the galaxy. But cloning Thrawn, Palpatine and the such are things that I never liked. It's not really hard to come up with a military-like villian like Thrawn, it doesn't need to be a clone of anyone only that it's a true strategist and brilliant enemy commander. Something like Saul was supposed to be in the original game, only that we never saw him do anything for which I was disappointed. A Thrawn-like leader and a Sidious-like Sith Lord are definately something I'd go with for this potential game. I'd include a Nihilis and Maul to cover the badass Sith fighter lieutenants also, but a combo Empire-like military and a separate Sith Order acolytes would suit me just fine.
-
Well Sidious at some point lets his true nature show when he crowns himself Emperor as opposed to Chancellor, and switches the Republic to the Empire. I'm sure he lost the love when he finally displays he's a tyrant and uses the Clones now Stormtroopers to sunjugate the entire galaxy. And lets not forget the aforementioned Care Bears, who the hell respects you after losing to that?
-
True Shadow but Revan had to kill a billion people personally and use a massive fleet to do so. Sidious meanwhile manipulated others to get what he wanted and built his fleet when he was already well within power. Revan was cool, but Sidious was a true master imo.
-
LOL Ivan...you call em that too? While Maul was the best fighter, I still agree that overall Sidious was the best.

I'll see if I can check them out Shadow thanks. I remember when the OT was first announced on DVD the microseries was included in the list of features I was so disappointed when they weren't there.
-
Vongs dancing...*shudders*...as if Ewoks weren't enough... Don't know about a third Force user party, because they would basically feel like a poor man's Sith at least for me. I haven't recalled seeing people get sick of the Empire and Stormtroopers, I feel the same about the Sith...ah check that...about cool Sith: Maul, Nihilis, Vader...not the cheesy Sith: Jerec, Desann, etc.
-
Not to mention Azure that part of the Duel of the Fates was cut from the theatrical version. Man I wish I had that fight just as I remember it. Maul definately was the best fighter from the movies, though the footage for Ep3 from the DVDs looks promising.
-
I thought the some people don't have the creative flair for extreme saber styles was directed at me...ah never mind
-
Well I was going off the artworks I've seen where he separates his arms into 4 with sabers. Yeah I missed the microseries, I mean 5 mins sheesh by the time I always remembered it was on it was over already. Sorry to disappoint you Gandalf, I'll stay in level 1 before you or even drop to 0 because I definately don't like the foot thing. Oh well
-
Not sure what Bane died of, old age maybe? Marka Ragnos I believe also died of age and not in a assassination/battle/accident type ordeal. So he did pretty well for living over a century and controlling the entire Sith Empire. Those after him, well not so much lol.

Sorry Shadow, that's the thing I hate from the EU the most in the history of anything SW. For me they're the worst idea for a SW villain ever. They are in my hate list even below Gungans and Ewoks. I know you like them, and I'm glad you got something good out of them but for me the NJO should be written out of the EU timeline into an alternate universe like Infinities. I'l stick with the Sith. They're more my style of villain. Only like in KotOR where there are many and not that One and one drat. I hope the Sith from 4k years after RotJ say ah Darth Bane was a schmuck, lets rebuild the Sith Order. And have the Sith exactly like the Jedi just evil. We'll see what they come up with.
-
He, he, where's the I constantly change styles because I use all of them? I like my Jedi to use variety in his fighting, depends on what the situation calls for. Ah weren't Grevious' arms supposed to split into 4 arms for the saber thing? Never heard about the foot thing till now...that's...weird.
-
Well I'll try not to steer the topic off the theme. Laozi, the movie has some pros and cons, overall I liked it. The same goes for the miniseries. Book is still the best though. So back on topic: I vote for a Knights 4K years after RotJ. Give me different enemies though I still like fighting the darn Sith, anything else feels like a cheap replacement, he, he.

Azazel005: Though my old SW RPG book says there's a Force power that "absorbs" energy blasts, I think the Vader thing was more that his armor is blaster proof. Vader had very little organics left under the armor; his head and something of the torso I believe but his arms and legs were purely mechanical, it makes much more sense to me he was just blaster proof than him using the Force to absorb the blasts from Solo. Still I concur with you that Vader is the most kick ass of Sith Lords, he ain't the Chosen One for nothing.
-
Actually Shadow the original version of the Sarlacc were giant worms, I'm sure the SE changed it so they looked less like the Sandworms of Dune. But as C-3PO says in RotJ the Sarlacc is nesting in the great Pit of Carkoon, if you recall how it looked in the original version, the Sarlacc was a giant Sandworm with its mouth wide open towards the sky. Then again don't get me started on the things Star Wars has am "borrowed" from Dune to begin with. Yep Craftsman the Sand Borrowers of Blenjeel (Sp?), loved using thermal dets on those badboys myself.

In sheer scope of accomplishments and overall brilliance I would give it to Sidious. Not only was he able to mask the Sith through the Dark Side to be in front of the freaking Jedi Council without them knowing, he managed to manipulate everything from the Trade Federation blockade of his own world to elect himself Chancellor, then use Dooku's Separatists to bring the Republic to war while he made himself the Army and played benevolent leader, he managed to almost wipe out the Jedi out of existence and created the Empire. This gives Sidious my vote for ultimate Sith. Most kick ass kudos always go to Vader. While coolest look is a tie between Maul, Revan and Nihilis.
-
That's completely cool with me Shadow I really wish both sides would just agree to disagree and just enjoy what the game has to offer instead of bickering about what they don't like. I don't mind at all conversations about what we would have liked to have seen like a wish list but the fighting is downright absurd. Eduardo: That's twice I owe you for info, thanks a lot my friend. The battery packs would then make it around the time Marka Ragnos ruled the Sith Empire right? How about armor though, were those eliminated post-Ragnos' also?
